Can you buy some decent cars.. AKA no junk BMWs or LRs? I mean they are litteraly the last brand of cars you spend your own money on in the UK. They are a known "avoid at all costs" second hand car that just deteriorate so fast its beyond belief.

You were right not to get carried away and bid. Sadly online auction bidding has been great for the auction house, but not for buyers. Better luck next time.

@@afapwocky buyers don't properly assess damage on the car as they are not physically there to inspect, end up paying too much for car.

In big auction you can see when the people in the hall stop bidding, you saw it here as well they stopped at the true assesed value, if your online bid goes against some hall "opponent" bid then you're good to spend a little extra to secure the online buy, but ALWAYS second 3rd and 4th guess yourself because it might even be that those are the only gears working on a car you never seen.

It would be interesting to see any "failed" videos on this channel, like videos that aren't good enough for the main channel, but still worth a watch.
Really enjoyed this video. It really captured the whole auction rollercoaster of emotions. Always good to hear more knowledge and insight from Taylor on the various models you encounter. Also, thank you for shooting/uploading in 60fps, albeit a minor personal preference, I feel it also added to the rawness.

That specific e30 the roof is rotted out 😂 One quick check and youd need to be daft to even bid £100 on that junker. Its about £6-7k for the roof job it needs cut off.

A little while back on the e30 reddit, there was some discussion on rust on e30 roofs and basically it came down to that you have to be really really careful when purchasing an e30 with a rusty roof. I didn’t believe it initially but eventually the other guy really made a good statement. Comes down to that you might need to replace the complete roof, which is incredibly hard.
10k is waaaaay too much for this car…
No idea whos buying these junk BMWs they cannot be in the UK or even know about cars.
@@bigduphusaj162 I don't know about e30 pricing in the UK but at least in my country a sorted 325i mtechII e30 coupe is like 25-30 grand minimum. This car is basically a massive gamble, definitely not junk though. You might get it running for "cheap" if you get lucky and make massive profit, or you might get stuck with it and it's worthless.
But then again I have no clue what these are worth in the UK.

@@rich_edwards79 To be fair 9 times out of ten they usually get raced because they are too unfit to go back on the road hence why they put loads of work into them from welding to new panels, but never structurally safe for the road as they are rotten.
Good ones they find they usually sort out and keep. I think it’s better to have their last stretch around a track than to be weighed straight in

Best case that needs 10k spending on it, and its still a repo without any paperwork. Worst case the engine needs a load of work too and it owes someone WAAAAAAy more than its worth once done.

As soon I saw the E30... my heart sank and I got all love sick for my old E30. By far the best car I ever owned. Been wanting to get another for I think 10 years now and just never able to :(

E30 is and always be a gem. As a body shop apprentice in 95, we had a sales rep called “Nele” she was sexy af and drove an f plate 325 sport(very well). She threw that thing around and I was besotted by her ( and the 3series )❤❤❤

The cosworth engined granadas were the later mk3 ones. It's really the only fastish ford of that era that prices are still reasonable
Seeing the numbers shoot up like that makes me so happy as i have an E30. Although it has a TON of work done to it.
this was vastly overpaid for and is a known junk heap that needs a new roof. Trust me on this.. the only ones making money out of BMW sales is the auction house. Even to sort out a decent but still an MOT fail E46 M3 is big money and the sales price wont match what youve layed out. Older BMW prices peaked during hovis19 and are comming down steeply now especially in the UK. Decent money can be made on buying a few half decent older cars things like Jimny are on the way up in price and older reliable brands also. BMW, Audi, Merc and LR are what people who dont know how to make money buy.

E30s Quality. My first E30 was a 316 4 speed manual. I tuned it a bit and loved it. Had a few more then a 528 series 2. Can't afford a decent e30 now😂
Ive only been to an auction once back in 1991.
Before the age of internet, so you were just fighing the Arthur Daley lookalikes in the auction.
Banter was brilliant though, with the dealers laughing at some of the cars.
I sold my mk3 escort 3 door estate there for £300.
Wish i had that car now.
That E30 325i was in K Koke/Maverick Sabre's music video for 'Turn Back' in 2011.
