I’m s Japanese and a senior at a Japanese college. And I went to hear the lecture by Son Masayosi as a recruitment event yesterday. That was just nothing but inspiring and motivating!!
bruh are you using google translate. lmao
@@didyoustealmyfood8729 doubt it considering he made a typo
He's the craziest hedge fund gambler
i am so proud of you son ...
And we are ashamed of your dad Osama bin laden.
Lol what?!
Father, is that you? We miss you! 😞
Osama's last name is Bin laden. Your last name is Osama. Shouldn't your name be Osama Osama or Khan Bin Laden? 🤔🤔🤔😁
I khan believe that
"SoftBank threatened to finance their rivals..."
Dammit! Just chill, Mr. Iron SoftBank of Braavos
ahahhaha!!damnnn son
To be honest, This guy is the one who created Jack Ma.
Mid Yop I wouldn't go that far but he' def funded the early vision
No one trust Jack Ma vision that time. He is the only one who can see what Jack Ma's see in the future of Ecommerce. Without his 25 million dollar funding alibaba will go nowhere.
$25 Million to kick start Alibaba.com. What exactly was the money used for? Seems like a simple concept. I have known about Alibaba way before yahoo bought it. Give me some knowledge
Yahoo bought Alibaba? Are you kidding me? Simple google will help you to educate more about the company. Jerry Yang just invested in Alibaba for shares of the company. He never bought Alibaba, Jack Ma is still in control of all the shares of his company. Also Masayoshi Son introduced Jack Ma to Jerry Yang (Founder of Yahoo) and also the first investor of Yahoo is also Masayoshi Son (Founder of Softbank).
Mid Yop i dont agree i admit that he (softbank) put his money in alibaba but Jack ma worked super hard to turn alibaba into billion dollars firm. Respect Jack ma he made himself.
Its like a modern day Berkshire hathaway
... take big tickets in loss making investments :-)
Id call it an inverse of Berkshire. Softbank is basically a venture capitalist and tech conglomerate which invests in risky companies with poor balance sheets with the hope that some of them strike gold. BRK invests in established companies with strong cash flows erroring on the side of safety.
^
thank you for your Saudi's money. Now.... it's gone!
It's the furthest thing possible from BH/Warren Buffet.
I've heard a lot about this company, I'm glad someone was here to finally give some explanation of what it does and why it is so influential.
Thank you CNBC and Uptin Saiidi.
I love the tech related videos CNBC posts. It's refreshing.
Same
SoftBank invested in many Indian growing company, and happily mostly of them have shown high growth after investment by SoftBank
they force you to take their investment. If you reject their investment, they will simple invest your competitors. That is a really unethical way of performing business
@@Hawktotalwar nah, you're just jealous of softbank
@@arifgunawan9329 Look at what happened to Uber. Softbank made sure to invest heavily in Uber's competitors in each country (Lyft, Ola, Didi) ultimately forcing the cash starved Uber to turn to Softbank. Now Softbank is a monopoly.
@@Hawktotalwar that's not wrong, if you can't invest company A, it doesn't meant you're forbidden by law or moral to invest Company B.
@@aliefr2984 so, if you owned a company and you don't want to share it with someone for some reason but you're being coerced into selling into that exact person. That's okay?
Soon softbank will change name to umbrella corporation
Nope, that's for the conglomerate tencent. The Forbes magazine name it as the most valuable asian company. The 1st asian company to break that 500 billion monthly cap. They got investment all over the world. from AI, software, social media, entertainment, health care, hard ware, transport, robotics, banks, sports, real estate, defense, travel, advertising, too many more.
@@lanzortiz3199 resident evil? Do u know?
@@alexk5631 of course i know. It is the biggest corporation in the world based on the storyline. They have influence in every country. Iol i was just stating if any corporations in asia has potential to be next umbrella corporation? then that's tencent. Research on how big and powerful they are compared to softbank.
He is really on a Tech craze, i mean how can he approve Wework's business model for investment. Its not even a tech company. What does Wework even mean the company's real name should be "We dont even work". LOL
THEROCKER8 so embarrassing
SoftBank should invest in Hentai series.
You're a man of culture !!

Good setup if he became a super villain. No super villain controls 100 of the biggest tech firms yet
WeWork busted softbank $7B. So much for VISION
During the dot com buble burst, he lost far more than that overnight.
60B - 7B = 53B still left to be cheated...Lets build a startup guys...
You need to understand how it works.
Its betting for the rich but with far better odds.
It can afford to bet on 10 tech start ups and only needs 1 to make it like Uber. The returns on the investmebt and the earnings as a shareholder is enough for them to laugh off the other 9 that failed.
The immense power firms like these have is frightening to say the least, literally more powerful than governments.
No. The Chinese government Shows the weakness of softbank
Well let’s see if they can recoup the we work investment
Yesss 🤣🤣
30 billion dollars. Ouch.
possibly with coupang have to wait until IPO goes public
Damn Japan, you are humble yet grab the world continuosly
He is the Warren Buffett of Japan and the future. The real Warren Buffett have no guts investing in technology or start up like Alibaba. In a peace world, technology is the future.
It's not about guts. It is about what you know and what you don't. Besides, Buffet own 5% of Apple.
Buffett doesn´t invest in companies he doesn´t understand, he is an old man so technology is not for him. I´m sure he understands about companies better than you
@@vubaoanh1997 yeah! Maza Son is not stupid by paying Neuman $1.7B to leave Wework and putting additonal $10B because they made no profit and ran out of money.
Great content!
Sir, I really love your videos. Do on more intersting tech related companies right now uprising too sir.
This is so fun to watch after SoftBank got into trouble with a bunch of nonsense investment.
They recovered overnight man. Softbank reported record profits this year.
We work for sure
Great presentation you are.
What a visionary, to get that kind of returns..mind blowing..
Whew Gazprom at 40?! Wow it's really falling from grace!

People don't know for masayoshi son is from running a whorehouse . Lol He has now put much money in lots of Chinese enterprises such as alibaba, didichuxing etc and conducting intelligence gathering to China as well
Shut up Shuo, you're just jealous your neighbors in Japan are more original than the Chinese since they can actually come up with unique ideas without stealing them from western companies. Stay jealous.
@James Franko not only US but india as well. Every large start up in india is created by this guy

@@hugol648 Hahah. 300 year vision dont worry. ;) ;)
One thing I don't understand though is witch measurements those Forbes use when they say largest companies? They say softbank is above Amazon but Amazons market cap makes it the second biggest company after apple that's number 1 in the entire world... on Forbes list apple was on number 9. They do not go for market cap so what's there measuremen?.., revenue? Market share? Growth? How do they combine all this when they rank so called largest companies? Confused
Good question! It's a mix of four metrics: sales, profit, assets and market value.
CNBC International. Alright thanks!
CNBC International amazon is still far ahead of the on all the metrics u are mentioning maybe except for profit

SoftBank is funding startup and competitors, like ride sharing companies Uber and OLA they have invested in both them . If one of them succeeds they will get good share as returns are too big if startup succeeds.
They used to be my cellphone company!
He is super smart
Great & Cool Video 😎😎😎😎😎😎
Cool video & what not, but someone tell my man hostin that his button up is small on him LOL
There is a ton of debt involved, Son is making the same mistake he made during the dot-com bubble (he was the richest man of the world for few days and risked going bakrupt shortly after)
Alex Voxel, Son is investing his excess money into useful products
He and the fund are here to stay. This is NOT the tech bubble anymore...
didn't he lose like 70bn at that time ??
Hugo Nongbri everyone else did as well.
That’s what entrepreneur are made of. Taking risks to provide a better solution for the mass
He basically wants to own , the the tech scenario in the next 10-15 years . Ambitious , and he might even pull it off.
not 10-15 years but the next 300 years
