Moving beyond call centers & IT support ??? What the heck is this title !. I guess - this video is getting published in first few months of year 2024. The premise of this video is simply false. Hear my story - I did my M.S in Germany & immediately returned back to India in 2004 because of huge amount of taxes you have to pay in Germany if you are an employee as well as a bachelor & also at that time, there was no proper way to transfer your PF from Germany to India when you decide to come back to India. In my very first company (an American MNC), our Indian team worked for a very important product and we developed the entire software for it starting in the year 2005 (including the code that would run in the factory to load X.509 Public Key certs, RSA 2048 Public Key/Private Key pairs as well as numerous default operational parameters during manufacturing of this product in our factory at Juarez in Mexico). It was launched in 2006-2007 and it sold more than 50 million instances to all digital cable service providers in the US as well as at a big US Telco running a well known IPTV service in USA. Even at that time we had one other team in our office which worked on the set top software as well as another team which worked on the server side software. Later my team, in combination with another team in the main delivery centre in USA, developed large chunks of critical software for Canadian digital cable service providers. Then our local teams worked in Agile development mode, developing numerous modules/microservices of a Cloud based Video delivery system starting in 2016 (initially on OpenStack & then transitioned to AWS) & it was deployed to a big customer in Germany. There were many such global competitors of my company who had established big development centres in Bengaluru & Gurgaon by year 2007. More companies came to India following the financial crisis that happened in US & Europe due to Housing Loan collapse in US. It was not just the lower salaries when compared to the US developers, it was also the quality of the work being done - which made many companies across the world establish their development centres in India. IIRC - Comcast also established their s/w delivery centre in India to primarily serve their American customers.
