Thanks Greg for great content including business tips. You always have a backup plan 🙂 Moving the recovery gear from the failed to sell Transit T460 to the more weight capable Iveco makes perfect sense and gives us some build content - bonus.

Greg you cant use the hydraulic cylinder from the tipper as it's only a single acting, it retracts by gravity with just the weight of the body .

    Hi Greg,
Nice to see another 3.0 iveco as a recovery vehicle.
I'd put air bags on it instead of adding leaf spring, better comfort and adjustability, you can buy air bags off 7.5 t and make brackets yourself that's what I did in mine, I can show you some pictures if you want.

What type of weight do these repo spec lifts take mate on either the transit or the iveco ,id love one mounted to a old defender with a Cummins diesel engine ,that would be a great all round tow vehicle especially with a center diff lock for the off road jobs , great video once again gregg ,not far off 50k now ,your smashing it 👌👊☮️

PTO on these ivecos off the gearbox works much much better, but you obviously have to disengage pto when you reverse unlike an electronic pto running off the engine etc...

Hi Greg I am currently doing the same as you , I have a 65 plate 6.5t iveco crew cab , ex council . Had a 3m tipping body on that's being collected tomorrow. . I am putting air suspension on as well as the springs to cope with the weight that will be after the axle . The spec lift I have came off a early 2000's iveco 6.5t . That had an additional set of springs above the standard set for the spec load. I am hoping to start putting ib back together around easter . Once it's done it will be up for sale , around £15k. If anyone is interested.

    • @GDBRescueandrecovery
      @GDBRescueandrecovery  Před 6 měsíci +1

Ah very nice! , Air suspension sounds good I may be adding that subject to how it lifts and sits when loaded... unsure yet! , Sounds like it will be a good set up. Send some pictures when it's done on the Facebook group EVERYTHING vehicle recovery UK!

In the early YT days, GDB was just his YT channel name and not shown on the trucks until he started to get more subscribers. Stafford seems to be his trading name locally which would make more sense as people will know what area he covers from the name alone.

It is all singing all dancing and very nimble, but as mentioned moving forwards to keep up with demand of crew cab with multiple passengers and to be able to do the more heavier vehicles now, before hand I was known for the little cars lift and shift tight places etc, but there's to many people in my area with 3.5t trucks taking the car work for £30-£50 , personally let them have it, and I will concrete on the bigger vehicles. @@GDBRescueandrecovery This is what I have notice people are doing.
You dont earn on the potential of what someone else can make from the vehicle.
And that’s why none of the recovery trucks are selling on eBay. 7.2 Iveco daily 2015-2016 with 270k on em for 30/40k
You’ve had your money out em already.
Also the people buying at this level and budget (20 year old spec plus) ain’t earning much so it’s never gonna sell plus you live in the country most are in cities with charges for such old trucks.
I’m not even having a go at you.
But it’s just too much money especially in this climate with people under cutting for £20 a job lol.
Even the chassis for 7k is crazy. It’s not what you have spent on it. It’s what it’s worth and what it’s gonna cost to get it up and running compared what they can get already complete.
You can beg to differ all you want. It didn’t sell in 4 months and with a price reduction. You have 45k subs which is probably every recovery company and driver in the country following you and their aunty. It still didn’t sell. The results speak for themselves.
I do recovery and have had other recovery drivers even say to me can you believe what he’s asking for that. 😂😂😂😂
At the end of the day putting it on the crew cab makes more sense as you have so much tied up in it and it works for your business. Keep up the vids I enjoying watching you. 👍🏽
