That photo of ABBA on stage for the opening of ABBA Voyage was so special and I count myself so lucky to have been there that night. I'll never forget the audience's adulation. ❤
Some journalist in the UK who had attented the VOYAGE premier, discribed in an article the crowd's emotional,(if not hysteric ) reaction at the moment Abba stepped on stage that night with one word .He stated that the fans response was ''Deafening"!!!!
This year is 50 years since fame came knocking at their door in the Eurovision contest of 1974. Fame took them farther than they had ever expected. Congrats ABBA, an honour well deserved.
ABBA has been with me for half a century now. All the highs and lows, my youth, my growing up and now my senior life have been and still are touched by their melodies, songs and musicals - a strange and humbling thought at the same time.
This is very welcome news!!! I think that the four members of ABBA will attend this wonderful honor!

Seems very likely. But photographed, not filmed. Not for the public anyway. But one can always hope. I think they will be most comfortable, all four, if it's not so public and things like this usually are not here in Sweden. But we'll know soon enough. I hope they will enjoy they're day! That's the main thing after all. 😊
You're right, Bobby's Brother... that wording definitely signifies that ABBA's intention is to be at that ceremony together. Very exciting for us; there will surely be photos! And what an honour. It will be a great day all round. ❤

ABBA 100% should get this award from the King of Sweden , I am in full support of this as I am 15 % Swedish myself even though I was born in the UK .I am lucky as I have seen ABBA in concert twice and got their Autograph's signed on a photo of the four of them , They are the number one Band / Group in the World , Excellent music all round . xx . Abba was like lifeline oxygene for squillions of us back then.They made us feel happy and feel safe even deceptively thinking that life is Only beautiful.'They were our fairytale" as another fan once said.'Our refugee and consolation.Our healing joy and comfort.For all those things and many more, i'm grateful.

That is wonderful news. I thought of a pipe dream, but I always wish one of the members would do comic cons around the world, just sitting down and signing for fans. Meeting Frida would’ve been worth any price.
Loved them since watching them on 1974 Eurovision. They're pure magic. Went to see Abba Voyage, absolutely brilliant and tear-jerking.

I saw Abba live in Toronto, our seat selection wasn’t great but I heard all their familiar songs. It was the best concert I’d attended & enjoyed them a lot. They’re my favourite singing group & I listen to them on CDs now & I will remember them forever..

Hello dear ABBA fans, do you feel the same way as I do when I see all four ABBA members together in the 2020s ? I get an overwhelming lump in my throat and find myself tearing up, reminiscing about my wonderful childhood with ABBA.

It's so special to read those comments and to get aware that people all over the world have the same feelings about ABBA. One funny story from me: Before I moved to a new flat, or even I did a renovation of a room in my flat, it is very important that first of all - when the room is still empty - one or two (or more) ABBA songs must be played to fill the room with good mood and vibrations. I am from Germany and in our language I call it: "ein-ABBA-ern". I know it's cracy but to me it is a must-have! 😃😂
It would be very great to see the four again, perhaps on the 11th of May at ESC or at the celebration for Swedens king. We will see, let's keep the fingers crossed. Take care friends! 😍
I listen to ABBA just about every work day. They were the BEST music group of my time. If only we could go back to those younger days….
I really needed this today
In July 1976, I had no idea how my ABBA life would play out. I definitely never thought in 2024, ABBA songs, clothing, names etc would help me through my life. 5 children, (Neal Christian and Anna, I got away with) 2 horrific break downs, and now living with many illnesses, both mental and physical, my life carries on. I was obsessed in the 70's and 80's, and I still am. I can't imagine a life where ABBA didn't exist. My parents and my 3 year younger brother, were dragged into their music, as it echoed through out the family home.
My hubby said last week to 'On And On And On', "I've never heard that song before ". To which he got the lecture about the ABBA programme in 1981 'Words and Music', which gave us ABBA obsessives, the 'extra verse'! They will be with me until my end. They haven't just been a group to me. They have been my life! And I can't never thank them enough for that ❤❤❤

Great to see ABBA are being honoured in their home country and would be surprised if they didn't turn up, I assume its like a royal command that they cannot turn down.The Avatars are rumoured to be turning up at Eurovision, ? ? It would be fantastic and I hope they do turn up and honour where it all started for them.
This is such an overwhelming and well deserved honour. Surely it would be rude if all four do not attend. Whether the event will be private or not is another matter. I hope we are lucky enough to at least see a photo.

I agree with you that all four of them most likely will show up to the ceremony at the castle but not to ESC, maybe though trough some sort of pre-recorded greetings. Most likley from Björn in that case.
Regarding goodbye: It feels like Frida and Agnetha and maybe even Björn are positive to do some more studio recordings but for some reason not Benny.

It sounds like they will all be there, but I think in private so perhaps just an official photo of the ceremony rather like here in UK when our Queen now King awarded honours we only saw a report about it most times

appear at both , i{ in Avatar film footage and other film footage} and also, of course personal appearances???

Yes I think they will all be there in person. I only hope this will be aired on SVT, because I assume attending will not be an option. I doubt they'll be at the Eurovision, Benny has said in the past he doesn't want to and I doubt Agnetha would want to either. But who knows, maybe Björn will be there.
They will be there, all 4, that is my interpretation of this very official and formal invitation and honour (unless something deeply personal makes them not be able to come). I imagine the ceremony strictly after protocol and private, yet I have the impression the Swedish royal family is somewhat more approachable than others. This makes me think: we may get a glimpse/little wave of the 4 😊 I don’t think it will be filmed, but a photo is very likely.

I thought you meant together for the Voyage 2nd anniversary but yes, the ceremonial event is more likely. B&B at Voyage for a Q&A and I have tickets but given it’s 50 years since Waterloo I have to wonder if there will be unexpected guests… and dream a little!
I have a feeling Frida may be there as a special guest, as they seem to be filming the q&a or at least that was implied in the email. My guess is a big announcement may be coming tomorrow, possibly the location of the new arena or a Setlist change, who knows? But they seem to be doing more for the second anniversary over the first
The event will probably not be filmed. The king has given out other awards and those events haven’t been filmed except one that was in a documentary about the royal palace.

@@HistoryRepeatingTMU I wouldn't think so, but I don't know fpr sure. As it"s ABBA I'm guessing fans and press will be there regardless. I read on the schedule for the Royal Palace and there will be some press at the event, so hopefully in a calm and respectful way it will be documented. It's not a open public event and several more people are to be honored this day.
Being what it is, i just assumed that they would have to be in person to receive this Order, and it would make sense to have just the one ceremony instead of 4 separate times.
Give these 4 people their well-deserved rest. They have done enough for the fans. Maybe there will be a deluxe version of Voyage. That would be great. And otherwise we have get some beautiful songs. They will never been forgotten.
It is almost certain that each of the members will be present because an absence could be interpreted almost as a “diplomatic” affront. Even if I think that ABBA would prefer a discreet ceremony, I believe that the Swedish Crown, the state (and the press of course) would not miss such an opportunity for communication and popular influence with a coverage in the international media. It remains to be seen whether this type of event is usually filmed or will simply be the subject of a somewhat strict official photo...
I also think they all show up on the event!!! Also giving the fact that the king and queen of Sweden attended not only the premiere of Voyage in London but even more surprisingly the couple were present at the Artists for ABBA show last month, giving the fact that any ABBA member snubbed the event (probably to keep the lowest profil possible). I think ABBA owns them and Sweden in the event of this huge honor that all four show up in flesh.
They will be there, not necessarily for the fans this time, but for them personally it is such an honour. I would like to see Abba one last time. I could not make the opening night of Voyage and they did not attend on 6 April for the 50 anniversary. i suppose they cannot be everywhere....I wish we knew at what time the ceremony will be on 31 May Flights are now expensive and i would need go the night before, but i think it will be worth it.

If there is any reason for the 4 members of ABBA to reunite in public, it is this prestigious honour from the King of Sweden. While I doubt the ceremony will (or should be) filmed, I do hope some new photos of the quartet are made available. I have just one request though: Benny, please don't wear "Grandma's housecoat" like you did at the opening of ABBA Voyage 2 years ago. 😉

Knowing the four they will manage go to the ceremony without standing next to each other. Someone will always be to the loo to avoid a photograph to be taken 😉
