Thanks to currently-existing technology and medicine, future humans could have larger heads and extensive robotic implants. In other words, evolution could be handed over from nature to science. Consult some old sci-fi novels and grab your art supplies; that classic "monkey-to-human evolutionary chart" may be due for a new friend walking in front of us.

Acclimatization vs adaptation is an interesting dilemma. Nature vs nurture.
Like the dutch has increased their median height 20cm in 100 years due to improved living standards as one for nature.
And people wearing masks and stressing over comparing themselves to others over the internet as one for nurture.

Being an optimist (!) I've been thinking recently about the long term survival of 'intelligent life' on earth (as opposed to our specific species long term survival prospects, which frankly do not presently seem very great). Although catastrophic extinction events seem inevitable, it is possible, even likely, regardless of the scale of catastrophic events, (short of a massive calamity greater than anything that seems reasonably likely), there will still exist multicellular creatures whose physiology contains neural cells.
Life has so far persisted through some challenging circumstances. I think the high hurdles in the path to intelligent life, the transition to multi-cellular organisms and the evolution of specialized tissues as required to support internal organs and nervous systems, have already been lept over. Hence it may be useful to think about the long term capacity of the earth to support living organisms, which appears to be around 3 billion years, the time before the sun enters it's red giant phase and boils away all the earth's H2O and atmospheric gases. This is roughly the same period of time that has been required for homo sapiens to evolve from the first multi-cellular organisms.
Even after home-sapiens goes extinct, so long as some organisms exist already possessing brain-like structures, the re-emergence of intelligent life seems almost inevitable, and it could take much less time for homo-sapiens level intelligence, or more advanced intelligence, to re-emerge -- in species quite remotely related to homo. Such a large timescale may allow re-evolution of numerous intelligent species... Really, as long as few cockroaches survive, it seems likely that home-sapiens(+) intelligence will re-emerge.

Just want to note that the change in 1800s in Utah to women having children earlier than before was probably due to the influence of Mormonism. Even now they're encouraged to get married ASAP after highschool, or go to BYU, in part, to find a husband. That's more of a religious/cultural change than evolutionary, I think.

  • @Illuminati089

I tend to question this as world-wide population is decreasing. Especially in my, age bracket and younger as ppl are, having less children not getting married or having no kids. In Japan this is worse. So woman becoming shortee n heavier is of no consequence plus if social trends continue heavier woman would still be less popular so attraction if females to makes would decrease thus, decrease in, copulation . Not only that but if the rise of technology and sex continues I wouldn't be surprised that guys would rely on either cyborg or virtual sexual encounters with modified fabricated female partners. Already some guys, are, spending hundreds to thousands of, dollars in bying, sex dolls and masturbation toys abd, tge need for opposite sex interactivity would decrease.

Reflecting the environment in which they're living. evolution not trying to get to anything specific theres no perfect way of being in some imaginary future. Just like we aren't the pinnacle of perfection on earth and everything else is just weird mistakes. No one has some idea that they're working towards, if that were true, then why make the creatures evolve at all? why not just spit them out right the first time?
