- Inspired by the Yoga For BJJ 10 in 10 Programme, I decided to create a 10 BJJ Drills in 10 Minutes for the Rolling With Tom Members.
This is the 10 in 10 Takedown Drills video.
Here are the drills:
1. Drop Step
2. Double Leg
3. Hip Thrust
4. Round The corner
5. 3 Way Sprawl
6. Sit Out
7. Duck Under
8. Judo Step
9. Judo Drop
10. Jump Over
It can be used as a great warm up or cool down, or as a way to develop your BJJ specific conditioning.

Your legs must be made of steel, this is a decently hard workout, especially considering the fact that you were TALKING while doing it and not taking any real breaks!
I'd love to say it was easy but my legs and lungs were crying by the end of it. Unfortunately, it never gets easier as the better you get the more reps you do.
Nice drills for this quarentine 2020, Oss
Glad you like them!
@_CalmPsycho _ it’s a shortened versions of the Japanese phase “Onegai Shimasu” which means “let’s do this!”
This is perfect and I use it in my daily solo drill routine playlist as a guide, thank you for this
My pleasure Daniel, glad you found it useful
can you share your playlist?

Great stuff. You’ve earned a subscription
I was just talking to one of our gyms black belts about take downs and how I hate and suck at them so bad. This video is awesome, as it gives me something to do until I can get some private lessons in!
Awesome glad to help. This post might help too - tombarlowonline.com/the-takedown-breakdown/
A little judo would help a lot
Ooohh, this is a goodie! Using it as a warmup, as well as just a practice to help seamlessly blend my transitions during takedown attempts when a modification is required after the initial shot. Thanks a jillion.
Nice drills! Thanks.
Glad you like them!

You're welcome
Just did one of those drills today at class.. I have the issue of coming down to hard on my knee when sliding forward. Definitely want to avoid a knee injury
In which drill?
@@EscapologyBJJ @1:51 drill. Definitely gotta work on not coming down on my knee too hard. Or perhaps more practice
@@dvnnyv6325 try maybe with chair or wall in front of you so you can use as brake - just like you would with partner becaouse you lean into him, also you some soft yoga matt or something, this is just to ease the stress from this type of drill.. or maybe you knees and legs are weak so you fall with knee to fast, you migh want to practice hip mobility, butt strenght, and general leg strenght, hindu squats are excelent for this
@@adamv9652 thanks for the tips 🤙🏼
I just released the Super Solo Drilling course.
It contains over 5 hours of content covering of my favourite solo drills, and more importantly how you can put them together to create a killer solo drilling training session.
Check it out now at tombarlowonline.com/super-solo-drilling/
Thanks for the support.
Holy crap this was hard
It's a leg killer for sure. You should try some of the ones on solo drilling play list czcams.com/play/PLL7W7DVTLo5fkwNkUUJlXe0NIZ5V2O89e.html
Dude, Bad Ass...thanks
My pleasure
Nice
Thanks
best
Is the hip thrust to get you used to the movement to push your hips forward when almost swept etc and allows you to get your weight centred?
It's more if you've shot in for a takedown, but don't have you posture.
Yes me too now. Finally its slow to see movement. Thanks so much. I just have to get bend low to do that. Lmao. Thanks
Happy to help!
@@EscapologyBJJ thank you sir. Any advice would help.
Reggie Anglin it takes time to develop the movements. Focus on getting the technique right, then add the speed.
@@EscapologyBJJ ahhhh i get it. Looks easy but Nope. Lol . I get it. Slow at first with all this back problems. But i can do this. Thanks
Do these drills help your stamina and can it help to add weight ?
Yes to both questions! Try them without weight first, as you might be surprised how challenging this sequence is
@@EscapologyBJJ Thank you
Am sure it's a good video but a better explanation as the specifics of drill would be nice. Like the way you explain the single leg drill.
This is coming soon
And also if you could figure out your audio a bit better. I watched this on my phone sitting in bed winding down for the day planning my lunchtime drilling in the park for the week. Could barely hear anything you said.
Any ideas for doing this without access to mats? For training at home etc. Thanks
If you’re really serious about this just make the investment in a little wrestling mat you can take anywhere. Check them out on Amazon.
OSS
This looks easy but is hard as fuck. Definetily I'm adding it to my daily routine. Thanks :D
Very good if you don't have a sparring partner for grappling.
Enjoy, they're a great workout too
can these drills make you loose weight ?
Absolutely, particularly as part of a full workout and healthy diet
On the first one, does your knee touch the ground?
It can but should only be very lightly
@@EscapologyBJJ Thank you coach!
I feel less ahtletic from having watched this.
Gonna drill the shit out of it now that im quarantined lol thx
Enjoy!
Shit volume, good routine
Omg! You experienced grapplers make the penetration step seem so easy. I cannot even perform it. 😣
weird single leg shots
The sound of the foot being dragged through the mat is painful
Video is too loud bro set your volume down a bit
