No dude. It has nothing to do with the crowds reaction. There's so many factors that make up points and crowds reaction isn't one of them. And, Ben is a huge crowd favorite, of course he's gonna get some shouts. Michael did insane here and definitely deserved 1st
I watched this and wondered how Rei Iwakura didn't win, then I watched his performance and cried. Solid player though good at execution and made great recoveries, definitely deserved tow in.
Also to add on to Augie - No one went clean this year in 4A - including Naoto Okada and Michael, the two cleanest throwers in the game today for 4A. HOWEVER, Michael had a routine that best demonstrated the critical values of performance and technical ability, with good variety, stage maneuvers, and dynamics, which the division as a whole lacked. World Champions don't drop is like saying the Worlds Stage is not intimidating.
It's a style called offstring. Instead of looping the string around the axle of the yoyo, it's wrapped around it. When the yo-yo reaches the end of the string, it flies off. The person then catches it on the string like a tightrope before returning it to their hand or setting up another trick.
You have no idea how offstring works do you! All pro players have their YOYO fall off at some point. What matters with offstring is the risk factor and difficulty
this guy was ok but he did not deserve first ben conde was alot better than him and if you listen to the crowd on ben conde's vid and you listen to it on this video than you can definitely hear the difference there was hardly any screaming on this video
He screwed up a lot of his tricks, and had to switch, a crowd screaming doesn't mean crap. Michael isn't known as much as Ben is, if he was super popular I'm sure they'd scream louder for his performance.
Except for the times he totally whiffs on the catches. You could say they were mistakes, flaws if you will. World Champions do not drop their yoyos. Not twice.
4a is about variation, let's be honest boingy-boings, seasicks, kink pops, whips, key chains, and orbits are always used. Ben Conde's style is waaaaay different than Michael's. The key to contests now a days is perfection, simple tricks done perfect is better than high difficulty trick screwed up. 1a for US nationals for example, top 3 players had less than a 1 point difference.
you don't quite get the difference between 4A and 1A do you? comparing those two styles is literally the worst possible thing you could try to do. this style is a very high risk style (hence why scores can be so different)where as 1A is still rather safe in comparison to 4A due to the string still being on the yoyo. plus you're comparing a national contest to the WORLD contest...again a terrible idea.

Saying the Ben Conde deserved to beat Michael is like saying Hiroyuki deserved to bean Jensen Kimmett in 2010 1a
to this day, my fav 4a routine of all time
yoyo should be an olympic sport for real
That was so Dope. So proud of you man.
The first drop was saved so well I initially thought it was part of the trick.
I watched this and wondered how Rei Iwakura didn't win, then I watched his performance and cried. Solid player though good at execution and made great recoveries, definitely deserved tow in.
First American 4A champ since Narum in 05.
I have two jet set ec's I love them so much!
Have you ever played 4A? Ever? If you had, you would know that dropping a yoyo is just like missing a string hit in any other style. (except 2A)
So flawless
He grew up so fast :')
The song is 'FNKY ALGORTHM' by M-Flo
Fair enough. Obviously, dropping a yoyo is not something most divisions have to worry about, but I still have a hard time being ok with it.

After his performance at BAC yoyo contest I knew he would win worlds that's why I was supprized when he won
this guy is incredible, first miss he did was on 1:54, that's very outstanding!
Awesome freestyle! What yoyo is he using? I can't tell :(
I just knew he would win
First unsponsored player to win worlds? I dunno but he's sponsored now lol
To be honest, most World 4A champions have had a couple drops in their routines.
Божественно
Godes
1.m-Flo- Fnky Athorthm 2. Sigma- Summer Calling (Tantrum Desire remix)
Hes right the 4A champs do drop in there routine like the 2nd place winner completely lose his yoyo and drop it within the first 10 sec ins not easy
Anyone know where I can find and listen to this song?

See, describing Ben Conde's show is the only acceptable time to use the word "swag", because if it exists, that guy has it.
what yoyo is this?
The jetset ec by something
How does he take the yoyo off the string

You have no idea how offstring works do you! All pro players have their YOYO fall off at some point. What matters with offstring is the risk factor and difficulty
Ced Rickets "no mistakes" -_- that's almost impossible, you have to be at skill level: Rei Iwakura to pull that off.
I give him 10/10
bro what r u on
0:44 stole ben condea trick
pierce curtis tsubasa onishi*
4a level God offstring in my mine rei iwakurai is 1st
@Ben sanders his tricks were original, his routine was almost perfect, and he is much better at yoyoing than you are
Than you do it and see if you can come up with original tricks you internet shit head

that's like saying whichever team performs the greatest dunks in the NBA should win the year.
No Ben Conde is not better.
Ben Conde is better...
Too underhype
Except for the times he totally whiffs on the catches. You could say they were mistakes, flaws if you will.
World Champions do not drop their yoyos. Not twice.
So what bro Marcus won with two switches
u don’t know shit
Wtf This guy isn't even that good. He freakin stole Ben Conde's tricks. If Bryan Figueroa nailed his tricks he wouldv'e topped this guy....
umm....WHAT?

Matthew Marie Does that change the fact that perfected simpler tricks equal a better score than a high quality trick messed up? No.
you still seem to forget that in 4A it's much easier to mess up. the yoyo not being attached to the string adds that degree of difficulty.
Song?
