In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

You need to see the Mock the Week he was on with his then girlfriend Sara Pascoe. They had the most passive aggressive domestic throughout half the episode. It was brilliant.

I’ve seen John on Sunday Brunch yesterday and they showed a little clip from an upcoming task. He was swearing again. I think I love him 😂

I just want to see more tasks where she has to attempt to walk like a normal person.

This combination of wise quotes and utter incompetence is one of the best things I’ve seen. I hope there is much to come this season.

Never heard of this guy, 10 seconds in I had a feeling I would love this guy, 30 seconds in I was sure of it. Then he recommends Bridget Christie again. Absolute legend, this season is going to kick ass.

I missed getting tickets for the NYC show tomorrow and I’m CRUSHED, as a disabled girly Taskmaster has literally given me back a reason to live and knowing my heroes are here in my city RIGHT NOW is quite exciting. I hope they’re having a wonderful time!
Was going to make the 5 hour drive just to shake Alex's hand. They have introduced me to UK comedy and I am forever indebted.
Most people missed it unfortunately, they were gone after like 30 minutes or something 🤯 Happy that there is such a demand for Alex and Greg in NYC though, I'm sure it will be a great event.

As a canadian, I am not generally familiar with any taskmaster candidates, but i always find a "favourite" each season that i root for. I haven't seen all the options for season 17 yet, but John robins is definitely in the lead so far.

I've been hoping for similar. Someone that completely ignores the fastest time wins part, so it makes it really frustrating for Alex by playing by the rules but at totally their own pace.
They must have been briefed that it is part of the marketing for the show so they wouldn't do anything too silly.
I'd love to see oliva Coleman on TM and Sam Campbell could be on each year and I wouldn't mind

I like that he understood the task but wasn't in a rush, I don't see much lateral thinking, either.
He is an Ed Gamble type. Meticulous and quick witted, but fiery when things don’t go his way.

Key here is to stack the buckets and then tip the balls on top I think. Then all the balls are in their buckets. They're just not sorted in any manner.

You can tell the difference by sound. Aussies sound nasal and irritating, Kiwis sound like we're in a competition to see who can sound like they're so laid back they might as well be comatose.

One more of the unknowns only to be loved in 10 episodes. Only know him from awkwardly funny mock the week with Pascoe and always wanted more. Again like always thanks Alex and crew for introducing me to UK comedy and comedians. This is the best show on the planet.

No More Jockeys i play with friends... Again I know john from panel show mtw... maybe cats too... but I know the face from the 9000 times I saw him with sarah. He is a gem. And I am excited as all for next friday.
