- Lightweight and aerodynamics used to be completely separate traits in bikes, but over the last five years these two different types of bikes have converged. The new Wilier Filante SLR Disc demonstrates this perfectly. Check out our first look!

Awesome bike! Seems like bike brands going to combine lightweight + aero to make one bike to rule them all example SL7
I do struggle with £10k for a bike. It looks lovely, but, £10k? Come on. I could buy a great bike for a third of that and spend £6k on enjoying riding it somewhere cool and a drone and a GoPro to record my fun...
Me too especially when the frame cost £200 from the Chinese factory. Italian paint is very expensive! 😉
Exactly! Will it make you 5 times faster than a £2K bike?? It's a nice bike, but is it really worth £10k??
@@dkelly7159 Piss poor cost estimate. Consider a name change to R Kelly.
@@orsations I believe I can fly! 😂 How much do you think Wilier pay per frame then?
Yeah man it's crazy what people think a good investment is
yes. 2020 will be remembered for the year aero and lightweight became 1
Just so you know, the 2020 emonda is heavier than this, yet more expensive
I’m still struggling to see the difference between this and the Cento (apart from slightly rounder tubing). Which is meant to be more aero, for example? Guess that, as usual, we’ll be waiting for the more affordable versions. Who spends these near 5 figure sums? Seriously, how many do they sell, genuinely interested.
A superb bike.
How tall are you and wich size Filante you choose
Epic video, Epic bike.
Very pretty....... but wonder what current zero, Cento owners think........new models are coming out so quickly.
who gives a shit...we can just buy the new one.
it looks like an evolution of my cento 10air. frankly its lighter and will probably be faster. the 10air is a wonderful bike btw...
6.9kg isnt bad... but, it means that lower spec bike (that most of us will buy) will prob be in the 8-10kg range.. not light at all
7.3 to 7.4 for for ultegra Di2. thats pretty good.
2020 remembered for the year virtually all top end bikes cost 5 figures & disc only...
the cost is bonkers
Nice Bike but 4k is my limit! Haha
The year light weight and aero became one... SL7, Filante
It is like manufacturers selling lemons and now they say they sell yellow and now pink lemon and blue lemon...✌🏻️😂✌🏻

Anyone know if its pressfit or threaded BB, deal breaker for me.(avoid pressfit like the corona virus) Specialized tarmac sl7 pro still my choice for new steed next year but currently ride a wilier so have a soft spot for the brand....... Its pressfit 😞
Had my wilier 4 years, one bottom bracket change, no problems at all, 11000 kilometres a year minimum! Can't understand what the problem is I have a great mechanic !!
@@Gloria-Stits do alot of my own maintenance and find threaded BB easy to work on. Have a winter bike with pressfit BB and never had a problem so far but don't look forward to changing when the time comes.
It's getting harder to make up the marketing BS now, clearly bikes reached the frame design pinnacle a couple of years ago. Unless a whole new material is developed, keep your 2 year old bike and save your $10k for a motorbike.
In terms of shape, why does this bike look like an average sum of Canyon Ultimate and Giant TCR?
If you want to build the perfect bike. It would be foolish to expect a different result every time you try. If all your attempts converge it is a good sign.
Not to forget the Specialized Tarmac SL7, the Cannondale SuperSix Evo, the Scott Addict, the BMC Teammachine, ..... 3 days later.... the Trek Emonda, the Merida Scultura, the Cube Agree,....
Think of it like a violin. There is actually a best shape for acoustic resonance. Low end models of violins and bows are all over the place with experimentation in shapes, materials, and build. When you get to the high level master crafted instruments or bows, the variations fall away and there things seem quit consistent.
@@WtfCZcams_YouSuck good analogy! With the shape and design guidelines fixed, it surely hasn't got anywhere else to go.
Interestingly some companies got to it way earlier than others!
Hey, look! An Emonda!
id rather get scott addict RC 2021 or scott foil 2021 both internal wired and light twice cheaper than this unreal 10k lMAO
Early
The bike looks cool...nothing to say about that. But 10k pounds??? I'm 1000% sure that you would barely notice any difference with a bike that costs half that price. Bike prices (frameset mainly) are just getting ridiculous!
But still...that bike looks cool indeed!
first
£9,270.00 Have people gone MAD or just plain crazy ?,which please the serious things i can buy for that kind of money well folks i wont be buying this EVER.
Bloody nightmare to work on , if you want to actually own it long term. Fine if you just want to flit around for Cycling Weekly, and gush about how good it is.
Damn some of these cyclists are too damn skinny! Ride your bike + lift weights!!!
Flat back for aerodynamics? C'mon you aren't even trying anymore. Also round head tube? Sorry I thought most bikes came flat head tubes:/
Shallower angles with sharp cut-off (kamm tail) leaves a smaller wake and less drag. Science, bro.
