That's an excellent question, but vertical dispersion on most speakers more than offsets that element. Of course, based on the individual parameters of the space and speakers used, things can be slightly tweaked as shown here. Dolby, THX, DTS and others do have solid guidelines that should be used as starting points for speaker setup, but we're here too to aid with any other questions and system design!😀
If you put the tweeters at ear level and you have multiple seats from the MLP. Won't the first seat in the row be blocking the sound from the seats after?
The average ear height while sitting in an ergonomic chair falls in the range of 43" to 46". For nearfield studio monitors the ear height would typically match the acoustic axis.
I am not sure what they are talking about but typically your side and rear surrounds should be 12-24 inches above your head when sitting in your seat. This makes it true immersive sound. Cheers 🍻
This is only if you have height Atmos speakers in the system. If your just doing a bed layer you are correct. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
@@Dreamediaav True Atmos should be placed over head and above 9 ft. Cheers 🍻 Hope this helps on your next instalment. Thanks

Hi Zach, what if for example your using two rows of seats in your home theater, what inputs on say the Marantz AV10 surround processor, would you then use for an additional set of side surounds for say a 9.2.4 Atmos set up?
Would the additional side surrounds be used as "FRONT WIDES" as inputs on the Marantz AV10?
Awesome! This is a great, and critical educational video for Atmos surrounds.
So Good 😊
