I had a Wacom 16 Pro 2 years ago that was just having non-stop problems with my Macbook at the time. Worked on the Ipad Pro ever since but started to hit it's limits a while ago plus my windows system failed for the 4th time in 4 years, perfect time for an upgrade! Got myself a Mac Studio just a few weeks ago and was now looking into getting a Tablet to work with it. Having had very bad experiences with drivers on even Wacom tablets I was very worried about the Huion 24 4k being a similar experience. I no longer feel very anxious about getting the Huion and just hope it works flawlessly like it did for you! Thank you so much for this video, cheers!
I have an Kamvas 13 and a MacBook Air M1 (2020), and have run into the issue that the Mac does not detect the Kamvas as a monitor, i.e the screen just shows "no signal" and goes black. (I'm using USB-C to USB-C). I've been sleuthing around on the internet a lot, and it seems to be a known issue with macOS Monterey (12.6) that it doesn't detect external displays. Also, the function to manually detect external displays won't show up unless you already have an external display already detected… (Yes, it's really insane). Have you experienced any problems with this? Ps. Lovely video! Good to see that it's actually _supposed_ to work, at least.
Woow, finally finally I find some one to sharing experience Huion work well with M1...I have doing online research about one week but mostly only sharing the tablet using experience instead of Driver compatibility with Apple M1...really thank you for sharing this video and get a lot information from here. Before I still cannot make decision between XP-Pen or Huion. seem XP-Pen really cannot work well on driver support this piece. Especially when I check with their online CS but giving difference answer and the last I checked she telling is "their are really cannot promised all M1 machine can work well with their product..." Now I think the only answer I need find out which is Huion can work well with Adobe on M1 or not. lastly, Thank you so much for sharing this video.
I hit the jackpot with this video. I currently have the same huion tablet but want to upgrade my hp laptop to a MacBook Air. This whole video just made me more sure about the purchase I want to make and definitely took a lot of stress off my shoulders. Thank you so much for this video 💕
Hi Vanessa Ramirez. We' are so happy we can help you. 😊 We didn't know if the MacBook Air M1 would even work with the tablets when we first got it. We're glad we took that risk because it worked out fantastically and it helps you out too. 👍 Just to let you know too that we have noticed the drivers work better on Big Sur than they do on Monterey (It still works well with Monterey too). So when you get your M1 it should come with Big Sur. Thank you so much and we're glad we can take a lot of stress off you.💕 Happy upgrading.👍
Amazing. I’ve been looking at the Huion for a bit and started looking at the Mac mini today. I wondered if anyone had done it and boom, here y’all are. So pumped. And I found out I can use my iPad as a monitor. I appreciate y’all making this video.
Really glad i found your video! I am a long time Windows user and now after my current PC is showing its end of life symptoms, i plan to move into MacOS. I have Huion Kamvas 16 (2021) and it works flawlessly on windows 7. How do you think this huion tablet works with imac m1 2019?
Hello Mohd Khairul Safwan Awi. Glad you found us. 😊The Huion Kamvas 16 (2021) will work excellently with the Mac M1. That is the same tablet we used to use on our M1 Mac mini. The drivers installed perfectly and everything was great. 👍 Just a side note: If your computer is feeling its, age you might want to try Linux because recently Huion released drivers support for Linux. If we may be so bold we recommend Kubuntu. Krita is also a highly recognized digital art software. Other Linux software we recommend would be Lutris and WINE. These are just other options for your computer if you don’t want to get rid of it. Hope this helps you out. 👍
Hi! I'm not sure if you will see this but I have a question, I have an LG Monitor and the M1 Mac mini connected. And with a huion comes the three cables, do the HDMI and USB both need to be plugged into the M1 or the Monitor? At the moment I have the USB in the M1 and the HDMI in the Monitor, but it only says "no signal". How can I fix this?
Hello Soledad Lemus. We got you're message. The only advice we can think of is that there might be an issue with the cables that you’re using. The first thing I would do is unplug the LG monitor from the Mac mini and make sure that the Huion is connecting properly with the USB-C cable it came with. Be sure that it is in its default settings in the display settings.. Then plug in the HDMI cable from the LG monitor…Then turn on the monitor. I would also check the OS because we have found after installing Ventura we can get native resolution with high dpi UI scaling on the Huion. Now the LG can also be at 4K, but it definitely would push the GPU pretty hard. Maybe lower its native display setting on the Mac. We hope this helps. If the problem does persist it’s definitely something to do with the cables. We do not use the hydra cable, we use Huion’s Full-Featured USB-C to USB-C Cable Support USB3.1 GEN2. We hope this helps you out and it all works out. Feel free to ask any other questions. It’s no problem. 😊
Hi, your video has been very helpful in giving me a clearer perspective on how an M1 and Huion work, but I still have a question about which model will work better and not have lag in Photoshop. Does the 8GB M1 really avoid having that problem? Or is it necessary to have a 16GB? There are very few videos focused on the use of an Illustrator and the performance of an M1. Regards.
I picked up my Huion 22 Plus on a flash Amazon sale for 350. I work mostly in ZBrush all day and unfortunately even with my Ergotron arm, my neck and shoulder just don't like it. I keep going back to the BenQ/Intuos set up I can't seem to find a good position that works for me. Aside from the pain, I just can't work with the arm up as the screen wiggle just mercs me. The Huion sits in the corner glaring at me all day...
Hi there. Well got me the macbook pro 16 m3 hope my huion has no issues with it. But one thing I returned my first one cause it had a defect and laptop is 5000 as it is. But only got it with 2tb.hope that's enough was going to get it with a 4tb but that's another 600 dollars laptop would be about 6000 with 4tb. That's crazy I did get a 4tb external ssd. But mean I have to take it with me.went with a Mac from being a pc user. Also what case did you get for your macbook pro? Also noticed you have an external ssd do you have it plugged in all the time? Take care keep them videos coming. Thanks!
Hello angelanguiano4338. Very nice to hear from you. Congratulations on getting the macbook pro. To answer your Question about our ssds, We actually have multiple that we use for our video library to edit with. The others are ASUS ROG STRIX Arion Aluminum Alloy M.2 NVMe SSD External Portable Enclosure Case Adapter that we use with 4 tb Nvmes. They are great. Love the ability to pop a different nvme in if needed. Very sturdy little buggers too. When it comes to the MacbookPro cases, we have Something like the MOSISO case but they really aren't great ,but it is something. We wouldn't recommend getting one with a matte finish because it gets really weird skuffs on it. We recommend one with a crystal finish. We didn't use the screen protecter or the keyboard protecter. We hope this helps and Thank You for being so supportive. Have a great day.
Thanks for the help! One issue I've realised with my M1 MacBook Pro is not so much an issue with huion, the tablet and company are great! But that the M1 MacBooks (not M1 max or m1pro chips) do not support more than one external display...so apple told to run two external displays you need to buy a hub that supports display link, but then the only display link adapters available for USB displays are like $1000000, sooooo for now for me to use two monitors I have to have the tablet plugged into the power, then plugged into the tablet and adapted to plug hdmi into the hub...WHICH SUCKS! Let me know if you have the M1 original (not pro or max chips) and if you found a solution? You'll be my saviour!!!
i got 2 laptops mac m1 pro and windows laptop and recently bought huion 24 pro 4k. on mac its a hell, nothing works and on windows zero problems. Mac system i can only say sucks so much for profesionals. it an expesnive toy imho, so far for me.
Hello jradesenv, Sorry to hear to hear the 12 pro is giving you problems. We recommend using a single usbc to usbc cable. It is what we have used in the past the mac will provide power to the tablet. We hop this helps out sorry for the delayed response.
Thank you Robert Thompson. We have only used Affinitiy products and Clip Studio with our M1s. Sorry, we've never really tried the Adobe products with our M1s. What we do use has been absolutely seemless and hasn't been a problem for us. In our opinion the adobe sweet for the M1 was a little a late in being native so we had to keep working despite that. That choice hasn't been disapointing. It is nice not to have to pay a subscription anymore. And we haven't looked back and don't miss it. We hope that helps you. 😊
you say that you can charge the macbook air m1 with the usbc to usbc cable, I am looking to buy a mac air m1, but in my case if I connect my ipad for example, my kamvas 22 does not charge it with its cable (maybe it is the cable of the ipad charger the problem I don't know). what type of cable do you use to connect the macbook air? thanks!
Hello IsolinoArt. This is the cable we are using: HUION Full-Featured USB-C to USB-C Cable Support USB 3.1 2 D Signal for Graphics Drawing Tablet with Screen Kamvas 22/24/22 Plus/24 Plus/Pro 16 (4K)/Pro 16 Plus This is the long copy and pasted title on Amazon and it is directly sold on Amazon at the Huion store. It is an expensive cable and we think this may solve your problem. 😊👍
Hi! Excellent video! But when it comes to compatibility, we have to consider whether the tablet works properly with all graphic programs. I didn't find any videos where they test the tablets in Indesign, Premier and Illustrator for example. I'm graphic designer and illustrator, I work on Mac currently still running on Catalina. I bought a 22 XP pen last year, but had to return it because it worked fine only in Photoshop. In Indesign and illustrator it didn't work properly ( a lot of compatibility bugs that make difficult the work instead of facilitate it). With the Huion giano I had similar experiences of errors, too... Have you tried the Hiuon in other programs?
Hi Gabriel Cortina. We use Clip Studio Paint, and the Affinity suite… Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher. All of these programs work well with our tablet, the Huion 24 4K Kamvas Pro. We haven’t had any issues with the programs at all. We have no use for Adobe CC, not really optimized . It may be an Adobe problem. We looked into it for you and it seems like a lot of people are having pressure sensitivity and performance issues with Adobe products. And it looks like it can get buggy with XP pen, Wacom and Huion. People have found a fix by allowing apps in security preferences. Unlocking your security and privacy presences for your Photoshop cc and doing the same for your tablet of choice, restart your software ( Make sure you’re online when you do this). This may solve pressure sensitivity as well as performance issues with your tablet. It may also be that the computer software needs to be up to date. Or that the drivers for that tablet need to be updated for the program to work. Catalina is known to be a buggy OS. You might want to update to Big Sur. Mac made major updates on all software since Catalina. Be sure you have deleted any and all driver’s, for any tablet, you have ever used from your computer then after an OS update, reinstall Huion’s tablet specific drivers. Don’t forget do time Machine back up beforehand. 👍 We hope this helps you out. 😊
Hi. could you check how this combo works with Krita? would be much appreciated. I currently work with a 16" cintiq pen display. Before i go bigger, i want to consider whether the Huion or wacom would be better. upgrading with wacom would obviously be an expensive jump, so i'd like to know if the huion works well with krita on a mac mini
Hi Saaid R. Sad to say Krita is not working well in Rosetta 2 right now on the M1 Macs. We gave it a try and it was pretty buggy. I have read that Krita is going to be working on an arm based version Mac. If you have an intel Mac Mini then Krita will work great. The Huion drivers are fully compatable with the intel version as well. There really shouldn't be an issue if you have enough Ram. Minimum 16 gigs of Ram recommended. Hope this helps you. 😊 /We've been trying to figure out the Huion drivers on Kubuntu for Krita actually. No Luck so far. Work in progress. 😅 Krita rocks 👍
@@mosscharmly ok, i'll hang in there then. my cintiq works fine with the m1 mac mini and krita at the moment, except a crash every now and then, i'm doing ok. i just make sure i save frequently. thanks for the reply.
Hi Shisuyami_nee we are using the huion 24 pro 4k with the usbc4 cable on an M1 mac Mini /16 gb ram version and Mac os Ventura 13.2.1. We Love it and have had no problems after almost 2 years. Updated drivers work great. We hope this helps you out. Have a great day.
Please pardon me for the stupid question that I am going to ask - can we connect Kamvas 13 to the Mac mini withou additional monitor? (Means the pen display would be my only monitor), many thanks 🙏😄
Hello Chi ll. That's not a stupid question at all. Yes, the Kamvas 13 will be seen as a monitor on the Mac Mini. It can be connected as your only monitor. Don't forget to install the drivers because after the installation the pen/stylus will become responsive. We hope this Helps you out. 😊 Feel free to ask us more awesome questions. 👍
My MacBook air M1 is 8gb processor and sometimes when I use Adobe software it has some delays especially when many layers. Question It will happen too (the delay or slow response) when I use the huion connected to my MacBook air m1 when I draw on photoshop?
Hello Awjay TV. That really is frustrating. We really don’t use Adobe Products and we are really at a loss to help you out. Very sorry. We hope something changes and it gets better … The only thing we could think of is that Adobe is very resource intensive, basically it’s going to push your computer to its limit and photoshop isn’t well optimized for most apple products. We’re sorry we couldn’t help you out.
Hello Lorena Esposito. We’ll do our best to get you up and running. We don’t know what specific Huion Kamvas 13 you have. So we’re just going to troubleshoot. If you have a newer Kamvas 13 it can connect with your MacBook Air M1 with a single usb-C to usb-C cable. You will also have to download the drivers to get your Kamvas 13 working. For that you would have to go to the Huion website and type in the specific Huion you have and the type of OS and any other info it asks you. You can download the drivers here: www.huion.com/download/ If you have the Kamvas 13 that comes with the cable with three split cables then you will need a usb-C dongle to attach to your MacBook Air M1. If that is the case the dongle we recommend is this : www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerExpand-Delivery-Ethernet-Chromebook/dp/B07PPGWQ15/ref=sr_1_4?crid=YDZ4RE1B2XYZ&keywords=anker+usb+c+hub+7+in+1+power+expand+plus&qid=1669849408&s=electronics&sprefix=anker+usb+c+hub+7+in+1+power+expand+plu%2Celectronics%2C129&sr=1-4 It’s expensive but it works perfectly every time. We hope this helps you out. If you have anymore questions please let us know.
Hello Franklin Muega. Our set up is either the m1 Mac mini Or M1 MacBook Air. Both are the 16gb variant. The Huion display output settings are scaled to 2304 x 1296. Seems to work for us. UI is much easier to navigate. We hope this is what you wanted to know. Keep creating and don’t forget to have fun. 😊
Hello nassirabdu. Yes it works Excellently. We both use the M1 MacBook Air with 16gb of ram and 512 ssd. The base model will work too. Just more ram will give you a little more longevity on the laptop just in case. We even had them running in the hottest summer yet and surprisingly had no problems (6 to 8 hr work day). Mac book air 2020 is such nice laptop we love them. They are so capable and the battery lasts forever. If you chose the combo we hope you would be as happy as we are with it . Have fun and make a good art. 😊
Awesome rundown - can you tell if the Huion will connect to the M1 Air via one USBC cord, or do you need to use the hydra cord? Interested in using the M1 Air with a Huion 16 4k and that 1 cord setup would seal the deal. Love the upbeat presentation on your channel!
Hello Steve Curcuru. The Huion Kamvas Pro 16 (4K) and Kamvas Pro 16 Plus (4K) can connect with the M1 Air with the one USBC cord. All screen displays do need to have a cable that goes into the computer and a USBC charging cable that goes into the wall. They don’t need the hydra cord but it does allow for that option too. By the way: Love the Hydra cord; Perfect description. 👍 They both support USB-C to USB-C connections: As long as the computer has a thunderbolt 3 port it will support USB-C to USB-C connections. 👍 It seems that you are going to have the perfect at home and mobile digital art studio. We want to give a recommendation and an explanation that we hope might help you out. Apple has an issue with 4K resolutions. The UI on 4k displays with Mac iOS is unreadable because it is way too small. In order to use a 4K display you cannot use the default resolution, you have to use a scaled resolution. Using a scaled resolution will/may affect performance. What this means is Apple doesn’t support 4K monitors it does however support 5K monitors for Ui scaling. When you are forced to scale the resolution for a usable interface what is happening in the background is your Mac is upscaling the 4K resolution which is native to your display into 5K resolution and then cuts that resolution in half which ends up being 2K. How this is being done is through your GPU. The GPU is always under load use while using a 4K monitor. Our recommendation is to get the Huion 16 2.5K because it is the native resolution of the screen. Your Mac will not have to use its GPU for scaling resolution and the resolution will be default for your display. So your GPU will not be excessively strained and you will see none or very little beach balls. All this downscale tomfoolery is currently an Apple issue. We are personally thinking of getting the Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) for our mobile workstations. If you decide to buy a Huion tablet on Amazon make sure that it’s in perfect condition. If not just return it immediately and get another one. Don’t settle because ultimately you’re investing in yourself and you deserve the best. 👍 We hope this is helpful and that whatever you decide will be awesome for you. Keep doing art and thank you so much for the compliment to our channel. 😊 If you have any other questions let us know.
@@mosscharmly Wow, thanks for the detailed reply! I hadn’t heard of the 4k issue, that’s concerning. I wonder if Apple has any plans to improve that in a future OS update. I’m only planning to get one because I need to upgrade from a Modbook Pro, a ten year old modified tablet Mac. My IPad Pro still can’t do the few things I need from Photoshop, and the Modbook can’t be upgraded past Yosemite so it’s on its last legs. A Huion 2.5k would still be an upgrade. Thanks again!

you say that you can charge the macbook air m1 with the usbc to usbc cable, I am looking to buy a mac air m1, but in my case if I connect my ipad for example, my kamvas 22 does not charge it with its cable (maybe it is the cable of the ipad charger the problem I don't know). what type of cable do you use to connect the macbook air? thanks!
Hello IsolinoArt.
This is the cable we are using:
HUION Full-Featured USB-C to USB-C Cable Support USB 3.1
2 D Signal for Graphics Drawing Tablet with Screen
Kamvas 22/24/22 Plus/24 Plus/Pro 16 (4K)/Pro 16 Plus
This is the long copy and pasted title on Amazon and it is directly sold on Amazon at the Huion store.
We hope this helps you out. 😊
@@mosscharmly Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
What M1 was this? The 8 gig, 256 ?
We use 2 M1 mac's. The M1 8-core book air 16gig and 512 ssd and the M1 mac mini same config.
Hi. could you check how this combo works with Krita? would be much appreciated.
Can the tablet run with only the Mac mini??
@@mosscharmly thank you so much for the advice, it certainly help me to make the right decision :)
@@chill3808 We're glad we can help you out.😊
My MacBook air M1 is 8gb processor and sometimes when I use Adobe software it has some delays especially when many layers.
Question
It will happen too (the delay or slow response) when I use the huion connected to my MacBook air m1 when I draw on photoshop?
Hello Awjay TV. That really is frustrating. We really don’t use Adobe Products and we are really at a loss to help you out. Very sorry. We hope something changes and it gets better … The only thing we could think of is that Adobe is very resource intensive, basically it’s going to push your computer to its limit and photoshop isn’t well optimized for most apple products. We’re sorry we couldn’t help you out.
@@mosscharmly it's okay appreciate the response ❤️ thanks
increase your ram on ps settings@@AwjayTV
Hi can u help me to connect Kamvas 13 to my MacBook Air m1?😢
Hello Lorena Esposito. We’ll do our best to get you up and running.
We don’t know what specific Huion Kamvas 13 you have. So we’re just going to troubleshoot.
If you have a newer Kamvas 13 it can connect with your MacBook Air M1 with a single usb-C to usb-C cable. You will also have to download the drivers to get your Kamvas 13 working. For that you would have to go to the Huion website and type in the specific Huion you have and the type of OS and any other info it asks you.
You can download the drivers here: www.huion.com/download/
If you have the Kamvas 13 that comes with the cable with three split cables then you will need a usb-C dongle to attach to your MacBook Air M1. If that is the case the dongle we recommend is this : www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerExpand-Delivery-Ethernet-Chromebook/dp/B07PPGWQ15/ref=sr_1_4?crid=YDZ4RE1B2XYZ&keywords=anker+usb+c+hub+7+in+1+power+expand+plus&qid=1669849408&s=electronics&sprefix=anker+usb+c+hub+7+in+1+power+expand+plu%2Celectronics%2C129&sr=1-4
It’s expensive but it works perfectly every time.
We hope this helps you out. If you have anymore questions please let us know.
I have both of these but why it's really small. If I adjust it it will lessen the resolution.
How do you adjust it?
Hello Franklin Muega. Our set up is either the m1 Mac mini Or M1 MacBook Air. Both are the 16gb variant. The Huion display output settings are scaled to 2304 x 1296. Seems to work for us. UI is much easier to navigate.
We hope this is what you wanted to know. Keep creating and don’t forget to have fun. 😊
Hi
does the huion kamvas pro 24 4k work well with the 2020 macbook air with apple m1 processor ???
Hello nassirabdu. Yes it works Excellently. We both use the M1 MacBook Air with 16gb of ram and 512 ssd. The base model will work too. Just more ram will give you a little more longevity on the laptop just in case. We even had them running in the hottest summer yet and surprisingly had no problems (6 to 8 hr work day). Mac book air 2020 is such nice laptop we love them. They are so capable and the battery lasts forever. If you chose the combo we hope you would be as happy as we are with it . Have fun and make a good art. 😊
Well.. Is it enough for the M1 chip with 8 GB RAM and 265 GB memory with the Kamvas 24 Pro 4K???
@@nassirabdu84 Yes it is enough. Make sure you get an external ssd because you will run out of hard drive space fast. 👍
They both support USB-C to USB-C connections:
As long as the computer has a thunderbolt 3 port it will support USB-C to USB-C connections. 👍
It seems that you are going to have the perfect at home and mobile digital art studio.
We hope this is helpful and that whatever you decide will be awesome for you.
The volume differences is really annoying. At times you guys are like screaming into the mic, at times you guys are speaking too softly.
What game you guys playing in this video? 🙈🙈.
The game was Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana on the Switch. It's fun. Can't wait to play Ys 10.
You both sound a lot like another couple known under youtube channel Truth stream media
