      I have thousands of videos made over the last 11 years. Some good, some bad, some viral. I really enjoy making them. I don't edit any of them and there are only shot once. I am too old to learn to edit and just want to tell a small story with my vids at the time of shooting. Thanks Again Randy Hoffman, DSD

      Not many people say thank you to me. I sincerely accept. Thru out all the laughing and sneering at my work, I humbly keep going. It is nice when someone shows a little appreciation so they don't have to make the same mistakes I did, before I figured the problem out. Thank You, Randy Hoffmann DSD

    Ever thought about a thicker gasket between the cylinder and the read block that will enable you to bend the reed stop a bit more open?

    • @DIOSpeedDemon
      @DIOSpeedDemon  Před 7 lety +1

      Yes, you could do that I suppose. I would use a reed block spacer, maybe a quarter inch thick now that I think about it. You have to remember that negative vacuum of the cylinder case, causes the reeds to open and close. The more volume you add to the case, even a quarter inch block , will cause the vacuum to drop and the reeds to open less with the stock case volume you have before the block was installed. There is no way to quantify the cylinder case volume as with all the exotic strange parts added to a racing dio changing all parameters of engine volume and vacuum equations. This being said, those are two brilliant ideas of adding reed cage volume and dual stage reeds. this is very interesting indeed and I might just try them next summer. RH DSD

      Regards.
      I have been wondering if your bike has a power valve and why Aprilia who is such an awesome motorcycle company, havent yet come up with a Power valve that is adjustable so that riders can adjust at what RPM the "powerband" will come in? Thought you might talk about this a bit. maybe there is somebody that makes such a power valve. maybe it is insignificant, as I am not sure how much a Powervalve is open or shut. More research required.

    have you ever used two different reeds for both sides of the V. carbon one side and less stiff reed on the other side for lower RPM pull? or mid range

    • @DIOSpeedDemon
      @DIOSpeedDemon  Před 7 lety +1

      No, I have not. Let me explain why. Negative air pressure pulls the reeds apart and should have the same material. V- Force reeds actually are four (4) reeds in a two reed slot. It accomplishes the same thing you describe. The problem iis my 125cc engine reed cage is 40% smaller than a v-force reed cage. You can see in my Dio Boyesen super racing reeds, video how the two stock boysen reeds interact. One is stiffer than the other , hence= the thinner reed opens first with a more metered air flow for low to mid performance, and at full throttle the stiffer reed opens at Wide Open Throttle. I should try and see if this works. I might be able to cut down the three slot or three holed reed to a two hole and still use it as an overlay to the wide solid reed. It is a good Idea and I shall ponder it, my friend. The reeds themselves come in a little package for about 60$ US dollars. What I can tell you is that my custom boyeson Dio reeds have been in for over three years and work Perfect. RH DSD

      Well, my pleasure. Just trying to use my own common sense. I would like to try this on my own Aprilia RS 125.

    How thick is the carbon fiber reed in mm?

    • @DIOSpeedDemon
      @DIOSpeedDemon  Před 4 lety

      That I don't know. The reed valve Material is whats key , as it has to open and close hundreds of times a minute in tune with the engine. Boyeson makes the best material. To answer your question, some reed valves are thumb nail thick and some of the valve material is just very thin plastic with carbon fiber decal on them.

      GAZZ-O-LEEEEEEEN... as mad max would say in his movies. Why call it Petrol? who knows, All I know is it works !~!!!!

    • @27null99
      @27null99 Před 6 lety

      because it ignites as a gas. it might go into the tank as a liquid but it is atomized so it will burn in the combustion chamber.

      Go here to see the derivation of the word "gasoline" It has nothing to do with it being a fluid or a gas: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasoline
