🫣 The snake will not harm the chickens or are they safe? I also wonder: apart from stealing the food (bad enough), are rats or mice harmful for chickens (biting, giving diseases, stressing them out...)?
Hi Ella. The chickens are too big for the non-venomous snake. It might go for chicks though or snatch an egg every now and then. But that's for the aeskulapian snake here. In other parts of the world there are snakes that kill and eat chickens! For the rats it's more or less the same. No problem with adult chickens but chicks and eggs can be on the menu. I had up to 20 rats raiding the coop and the chickens were not bothered. During the day mice would be on the chickens menu. 😉
