Adriens Digital Basement and lots of others here on CZcams use the press and twist method for removing caps. No worries about lifting traces or damaging other components. No heat or shielding needed. Cheers

Have you ever tried using plumber’s “Cool Gel” as a spray on heat shield? Also known by the name of Blue Monster - Arctic Armor Spray-On Thermal Shield (It’s a gel spray)
I don’t know if it’s electronic safe but I believe it’s non-toxic and will naturally evaporate off within a day or two so it doesn’t have any cleanup when used in a construction setting. It may be worth looking into its potential outside of construction copper pipe soldering/braising.
