Thanks mate, much appreciated. Hope you enjoy the rest of our content too 🤝
Awesome video Dave, loved the breakdown on things people should be looking out for.
Cheers mate that's more so on what i wanted to make the video about it wasn't so much the comparison but that was also important to show there is some good quality mid price range options out there. Thanks for watching
@@4x4brothers Well said, you do not have to spend massive dollars for brand names like alot of people are doing these days.
Bloody good vid fella 👍 got a set myself they are brilliant. Keep up the great work 🤘🍻🔥🇦🇺
Thank you mate. Such a great light and a great company to deal with. Took a long time for us to choose
Good. Vid Dave, plenty to think about. Lights sure have come leaps and bounds in the past 10 years.
They sure have mate I've had them all from the old hella's, hids and a few different leds. From the early days leds have improved so much and You can get a good light for a reasonable price now too
Great job mate, definitely some good knowledge there for others to use in there search for lighting 👌
Thank you mate that's how we tried to make the video
@@4x4brothers mission accomplished 👌
Really informative. Great work mate.
Thank you mate. Tried to pass on things I've noticed along the way
So helpful! Thanks for explanation. 👌
Glad to be of service 😆👌
Another great vid legends!
Cheers mate, they would look good on the front of the 200
Really good tips and knowledge share for us all to consider before we purchase our next set of driving lights. I need a light bar on my platform ! 💚💚💚💚
Thank you mate. Yeah that light bar makes such a huge difference. Love it
Thank you mate. Yeah that light bar makes such a huge difference. Love it
I run Stedi type-x sport on my transit van here on the coast of Norway. 1lux @ 1000m and thats more then what i need.
Good lights are really important to avoid wildlife.
They make a great light mate, Have had them in the past. There is no substitute for good lighting when driving at night. Cheers for watching over in Norway
Loving the channel mate. You need some WRKRIG plates for your everyday...
Cheers for watching mate. Got a little kia rio as the daily those plates would fit a treat 🤣
They look heaps better then my kings candles! 🤣
Haha yeah there is a fair difference between a good light and a not as good hey 😂
Nice vid. Just quick word of advice re exposure on the GoPro, auto will likely change the exposure settings according to the light in the scene. It could have adjusted the exposure down slightly for the brighter light in auto mode. For a true comparison, ensure exposure settings the same in in pro tune mode.
Ah yes thats a good point, cheers for the tip mate. The difference really is like the footage shows, I was pretty blown away
Great vid, thanks for the info. Have not got them installed on car yet but have gone with 4 of these teralumes across the front of my RTT, with a 20” light bar in the bull bar. I went with roof mount as I don’t want anything in front of the grill blocking air flow and with teralume due to the narrow beam, hoping to avoid light glare on the bonnet. Are you able to give me an idea of how far from the face of the spots does the light hit the road surface in front? Thanks in advance.
That's going to be extremely bright mate. Your going to love it. in regards to where the light hits thats a really hard one to answer because that all depends how they are aimed and how high they are mounted off the surface you are measuring off so there is probably to many answers to give you a correct one. Can you let us know how it all goes when installed though mate
Will do Dave. Thanks.
Interesting and informative video. Always good to find out about another Aussie manufacturer of 4x4 products. I will be seriously considering them. BTW what's the brand of your bull bar.
Yeah they are a great company to deal with and are developing some great products. Not Australian made to be clear but an Australian company.
The bull bar is a rhino bar mate
What light bar bracket have you used up on the roof rack.....looks like you are only running roof rails rather then a roof rack platform
Yeah mate I have a 3/4 length rack and then the rail to run the light bar. I'm going to change to a full length rack though. The brackets are just rhino rack ones to suit a light bar rail mount I can give you the part number if you need
Hey mate, what type of bar tube mounts did you use and where did you purchase them.
I have a nudge bar only but would like to get some driving lights.
Bit wary of quality 👌 with this.
Gday mate, these are rhino mounts (the maker of the bullbar) but measure the size of your tube and you should be able to good say "51mm tube light mount" and will find plenty from reputable manufacturers.
Hope the video was helpful. Cheers for watching
@@4x4brothers thanks mate legend.
I've got a 75 mill tube but they do look good the ones you have. Appreciated 👍
@@legendsumo Also completely depends on the fitment Of your nudge bar, i went a nudge against all advice from friends and my light bar shake was AWEFULL.
No matter what i did it was horrible, i upgraded to a full bar recently and its a million times better.
Hey mate, awesome video! What mounts are you using to mount your spot lights and aerial to your Evolution Bar? And where from? Cheers!
Cheers mate they are rhino's actual light mounts brackets. I had to drill out the mount hole to fit the aerial on. But you could also use most generic bar mounts to suit that size tube.
@@4x4brothers Cheers Brother. The more I dig into Teralume the more impressed I get. I was so set on light bar on the Bull bar in addition to the roof (for more of a clean look out front) but I've been told spotties are better for focused distance and bars for spreading out the sides (for wildlife).
So it makes me think a combo set up is the most practical, would you agree?
Or would I still have a solid set up running bars top and bottom?
Appreciate any insight 👍
Mate with one light bar on either the roof or the bar would give great light if you go a good quality bar. Going one top and bottom you wouldn't get as much output as running a good set of driving lights also as yep your correct they are better designed to output greater distance and then use the bar for a spread. I've also tried light bar and spotties on the bullbar and now with running one on the roof its much better.
Think that all makes sense haha
@@4x4brothers Thanks for all your advice mate, as I'm planning a rugged off roader build I'm really trying to go Function over Form. The light bars do look so much better on the bull bar but not worth the sacrifice in practicality, especially as I intend on really getting deep out into OZ where wildlife on the road will be a very wheel concern. Cheers again!
@@chrisryder9167 yeah you definitely won't be disappointed bar on the roof and spotties on the bar. Just try mount so you don't get the reflection on the bonnet
What was the model of the lightbar that you put on the roof?
It's teralume's 40 inch single row bar mate
How are the Terralume's fairing 1 year on? Are U still happy with them?
Gday mate, they are excellent can't fault them one bit.
So you don't rate the kings lights or stedi ?
In all honesty I'd spend that little bit extra and not get kings. The stedi's are what made me second guess the livids that's what got me looking
Nice review though I run stedi and stedi destroyers teralume had them side by side and stedi is much better.
Cheers for watching mate, i wanted to include more so what to keep your eye out for when buying lights also. The stedi's beside my livids is what made me want to upgrade. I do like them too it will be interesting to put them side by side when we get out of lock down to see the difference.
osman, which stedi and which teralume ? i'm looking at the stedi type-x Pro the the teralume Ikon 8.5, spec wise and beam pattern the teralume claim to be better
Yeah they would be the two to compare against each other teralume spec a bigger distance stedi spec a touch higher lumens so would be good to see side by side. We will test when we can we still have covid restrictions so can't atm
@@4x4brothers thanks I look forward to seeing a comparison test
Teralume are knockoffs of Stedi’s product. Suppose stedi all day
Aren't terralumes just King Spotties with greater quality control, I agree with everything you said, but says alot about how far from grace Vivids have fallen when at one point they where the pinnacle
There is alot of quality differences between teralume and the kings lights as to what is the same in them thats well above my knowledge. But have looked side by side and there's a big difference.
The livids used to like you said be at the top they just haven't evolved like every other brand and are getting left behind on output.
Ultralight .. 180max .. $1800 turns night into day dont hurt your eyes ..
Kings $150 dominate extreme 9 inch .. mate what do you need to see over 1km away in the bush 🤣
Ultra vision do make a great light I ran their hid's on the prado for almost 5 years and still were like new when i sold them. Won't get that with a kings. But yes very expensive
How many inches are those
Think from memory they are 8” but not sure they still make these lights
my cheapies are better then them
