    Today, I sit down with the one and only Paris Hilton to talk about past trauma and healing. Paris opens up about her life as a teen where she dealt with abusive adults without asking for help, living in shame and trauma, being portrayed as someone who is completely the opposite of who she really is, and finally finding the support system that she needed to find healing and create a safe space where she can be her true self.
    Pari Hilton is a CEO, New York Times bestselling author, philanthropist, DJ, designer, recording artist, actress, host, model, and influencer Paris has defined and dominated pop culture commanding her position as one of the most recognizable faces on the planet. She has masterfully harnessed her self-made spotlight to architect a thriving entertainment and consumer products empire which spans an impressive range of businesses and verticals, including tv, film, audio, music, publishing, licensing, consumer products, brand partnerships, and so many more.
    In 2006, she created Paris Hilton Entertainment, a multi-billion dollar company consisting of 45 branded stores, 19 product lines, and 29 fragrances that has amassed over 4 billion in revenue. In 2001, Variety declared Paris as a billion dollar entrepreneur in recognition of her successful business and global brand.

    Regardless if her parents had good intentions, they can say sorry. They can say sorry that she went through that. Sorry they let themselves be manipulated. Sorry they threw in the towel. Sorry they gave up on her. Part of being a good parent is apologizing to your kids when you make mistakes. Regardless of your intentions.

      As a survivor of the Troubled Teen Industry, our parents were lied to as much as we were. My mom was dying from brain cancer when I went away. My dad dropped me off at the school and they looked him in the eye, shook his hand, and promised that they would help me. I will never be the same person that I was the day he dropped me off, but it is because these people are promising scared parents that they will help their children. The blame needs to be on the industry. They need to do better.

    The reason women/girls especially in the 90’s didn’t come out is we were blamed. Our clothes were too revealing. We were drinking. We were “asking for it”… and if we weren’t blamed… we still had to, “prove it”… that in itself is traumatic

    This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it czcams.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

    I think one of the reasons why trauma stucks with us for so long is that we experienced moments where we are vulnerable, mortal and hadn't got the chance to punch back in that moment and feel shame because we experienced our weakness. No one told us about the predators out there and there is never a reason to send a young girl into circumstances that harms, we are raised to be kind, friendly and too blind to see something bad coming. Paris deserves all the love she needs and deserves to feel her strenghts to the fullest, because this is what she is, a really strong woman!

    • @AdinaIspas
      @AdinaIspas Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, and the more we speak about abuse and violence, the more we understand how it affects us. Rape or abuse is not a white, harmless crime, nothing to put on the table and discuss the behavior of the victim and the predator, it's a real crime! We should stop blaming women for being abused and give them respect and honor and support!

    It's so important to differentiate between strictness and a toxic relationship. They're too often thrown together. A parent can be "strict" -- have house rules, certain manners expected of their child, etc -- and also be loving, affectionate, have open communication and be aware of their child's emotional states. Way too often are emotional immaturity from parents, abuse of power, no communication between parent and child, etc, mistaken for "strictness". I'm glad they touched on that a little bit.

    Paris is such a soft and gentle person. Its great to hear her sharing. Considering the stigma that victims "ask for it" or deserve sexual abuse as a result of their behaviour or dress code. The truth is predators know how to spot a soft, vulnerable person.
    The sad part of the older generation is the women who have experience fighting off a predator because they have tough personalities and still blame sexual abuse victims as if it didnt almost happen to them. There are way too many women who villianise sexual abuse victims.

    I have not read Paris' book yet, but I will. I did watch her documentary. It was so eye opening. For the first time we were watching the most real Paris we had ever seen. I kept thinking while watching, my god she had to be a strong individual to get through that hell. She moved so fast through life so she didnt have the time to think. It was the nights of the quiet times and stillness that panicked her, she couldn't turn her brain off from the trauma and fear she had experienced in her younger years. Several times through the documentary I found myself crying. I could literally could feel her anguish and panic. It was heartbreaking to realize her true reality was nothing like what we thought. She was truly dealing with some heavy hell. Thank you Paris for sharing to help others.

    • @AdinaIspas
      @AdinaIspas Před 4 měsíci

      Same here, about finding myself crying. Truly eye-opening. However I disagree that the truth was heartbreaking... it was ecstatic to say the least, I mean so she really is this genius tomboy who puts animals first, and NOT the spoiled, glitzy, prissy drama queen we all thought?! How on Earth, that's amazing!!!
      I used to feel the energies of people in my generation around me, there was lots of tomboy idealism in the '80s but one day it all suddenly went away, with everyone becoming obsessed with money. The fact that she actually found a purpose in her hell, exposing those schools, pushing for legislation etc. gives me back a sense of hope.

Thinking about it, calling it out for what it is, even saying the word..it’s gut wrenching. It’s easier to reason with ourselves that it’s better that we just keep it to ourselves or no you’re overreacting. The confusion, shame, anger at yourself. 😢

She really encapsulates being beautiful both inside and out. And to emerge from the cocoon of the travesties of her brutal past, which would suffocate 9 out of 10 humans...she is a Light in this world.

    Kia Ora Jay, I enjoy your podcasts because you often interview People from a deep perspective, in relation to ones energy and spiritual wellbeing. This podcast was interesting and in some areas of her life very sad in terms of her experiences, but it lacked authentic depth from a spiritual well-being perspective. I often will listen for what I can’t hear, it’s in those moments where I feel the journey. My hope is she goes on a deep self discovery journey to enable her true essence. The voice of spiritual well-being can always be felt, especially when it’s voice is regularly encouraged to speak. I wish Paris only the best moving forward❤

      I didn't hear her speak in the third person, as in refer to herself as "she"? But she does something else, uses Simple Past instead of the Participle in Present or Past Perfect, ie. "I have went through"/"I had went through" instead of "I have gone through."

    I was abused by my ex-boyfriend when I was a teenager. He forced me to record videos of me masturb***** and I did that for him out of “love”. After that, during 4 years of the relationship, when we had fights or when he was jealous, he would bring this up saying he would blackmail me and blamed me with lots of rude words. I cried almost everyday. Eventually, I had him deleted all the videos and broke up with him. Now, I’m 32, thinking back, I want to say thank you for the lessons learned. I have learned to be more careful when taking actions and choosing a friend, and to forgive myself, to forgive him, and be my new self. 🌟🌞

    Such a beautiful conversation! Thank you Jay and Paris for sharing this conversation to us. I love that you said that shame is not for us to hold it’s for the other person that caused it. That resonated with me so much because I’ve held shame from experiences I have gone through and not shared it with many people because of how I would be judged and embarrassed by it. It’s so important to know who to trust and to open up to in order to begin healing.

      It's understandable to feel shame or embarrassment for other people's actions, especially when we are younger and still learning to navigate complex social situations. However, it's important to remember that we are not responsible for the actions of others, and we cannot control what other people do.
      It can be helpful to practice self-compassion and remind yourself that you are not defined by the actions of others. You can also try to reframe the situation and focus on what you can control, such as your own behavior and reactions.
      Additionally, it can be beneficial to seek support from a trusted friend, family member, or therapist who can help you work through these feelings of shame and develop healthy coping strategies.
      Remember, it's okay to feel these emotions, but it's also important to take care of yourself and not let them consume you.

      There's nothing wrong with wanting sex at any time whatsoever. Just be truthful about it, and don't resort to manipulation just coz you think girls are not that into it or whatever. Women can and do want release with no strings too, but you just gotta listen to the tomboy-types too when they tell you all they want is a friend or just making out. Because that's real too, and the stupid pressure is annoying.
