Jay said something very significant at the end of the video, we live in a world where we claim to care so much about mental health, yet when we hop online and make nasty comments and criticize/judge people we don’t even know, we’re not prioritizing mental health at all. It’s so important to remember to extend grace to people, just bc someone is famous, doesn’t mean they’re not human! Thank you Jay!

It’s sad but even the schools in our area talk about how important mental health is but when my son needed a mental health day where he could step back and have a break from everything and reflect on certain news he received the school would not excuse his one day absence. It seems like children and elders are excluded when thinking of mental health.

I will actually never forgive and forget the way ppl treated this poor girl when she was a literal KID. The death threats and hate she received for no reason literally hurts me so much to this day and hearing how much it affected her in this podcast is so hard to listen to. I really hope she's proud of herself cuz that is so so much pressure and sad for a 16 yr old to deal with. And the fact that grown adults were nit picking this child for their own benefit of views. I knew exactly who she was talking abt Trisha paytas. Disgusting. Anyways so proud of charli she's genuinely so strong .

There is so much more to this girl than being a ‘Tik Tok’ teen. She is very wise, very in tune with everything around her, she loves deeply and truly cares for her friends, family and fans. I’m 31 and I’ve taken alot from her and what she’s said in this video. I love how open, honest and how her teenage self came through. I’ll be rooting for her. The amount of emotions I’ve experienced throughout the course of this video is crazy. This interview hit home in so many ways.. I’ve always been a fan of Charli whether it was in 2020 where I would edit her, to now where every now and then I’ll see one of her videos and like it. It blows my mind that people don’t think about her as a genuine human being, and instead just see her how she perceives herself online. When she mentioned positive self talk, and being afraid to be yourself, I felt that so hard. I’ve always been the one to follow, and be afraid to show who I am and this was such a reminder that it’s not just me, and that everyone, even the people who never show it experience the same things I do.

I might've been living under a rock but I had no idea who Charli was before this interview. She really is more emotionally mature as 19 yr old than most and maybe it's because she was rushed into growing up. I hope she realizes that her choice to embrace the uncomfortable and grow is HUGE. At 25 I didn't expect to relate to her journey as much as I have so thank you Charli for sharing. Also props, cus being in the eye of the public is BRUTAL but you seem to be making it out okie 👏🏼

I relate so much with her and alot of the stuff she talked abt in this podcast especially when she said that she 'doesn't know anything' cuz same, like I feel so confused with what I like and I don't and I feel like I don't know myself at all. I just don't know what I want to do with my life and what's gonna happen next and fear if being judged. That resonated with me so much and I'm glad charli talked abt it since young kids nowadays feel the same way. I love that

I'm 19 too and the last few days have been extremely tough it was making me lose my mind I was crying constantly, I was feeling all this anger all the time and I just didn't know what I want, or why I am reacting this way and then I came across a reel of this podcast where she mentions how she doesn't know what her favorite movie or song Or other stuff is and listening to that I just saw myself in my brain and I realized that's exactly the case with me and that just made me tear up again. Idk who she is but I definitely know one thing that today she said some words which made me realize that I still have hope and I still have time to figure out she's a 19 yr old and if she can do this and find herself I can do it too and maybe it's difficult I don't know how it will be but the words "I actually don't know who I am" that's something I will change about myself no matter what I want this to be my birthday gift for myself I'll be 20 next year only a few months left so I want my 20 yr old to know what her favorite song is not the popular song what her fav movie or book is not the popular once. went into this with an open mind and i was excited to see how charli talked. but she doesn't seem to be grateful at all for her position financially nor career wise, it's a bit strange. the struggles she points to are internal; no one forced her to do anything. i am seeing a bit of a victim mentality... the way she talks about her fame is as if it is a curse and a burden that she is trying to escape, yet she is actively using social media and has a reality tv show.

Interesting perspective. I see a sweet strong kid who was thrust into public platform at 15 who dealt with MASSIVE hate and death threats. She talks abt being pushed into fame early on. She actually didn't expect it or asked for it. She gained popularity with public. That's a lot of attention and a lot for a teen to take on. Part of her whole talk also has been how the fame effected her mentally to point where she never left the house. It seems to me, she was just being a kid and showing off and posting stuff on social media. She didn't think she would gain the massive popularity she did. You might need to work on your empathy there a bit for saying they has a victim mentality and she did this all herself.

    • @mia-ek9be
      @mia-ek9be Před 3 měsíci +1

@@saijanaswamy7210 of course she has her struggles and she has been through a hard time, i totally see and empathize with that. everyone has their own story and i am not making light of her pain at all, i'm sure it was very difficult for her. however, you cannot deny that she fails to acknowledge any of the privileges she has gained from the fame. she also frames all of the criticism she has received as being pure hate, when she has in fact committed some wrongdoings as well. i understand that she was a young kid and didn't deserve death threats by any means, but she should be able to say (at this point in time) that she did display bratty behavior at times which was why people like trisha paytas said things about her online. she does not come across as humble or grateful AT ALL, and that shows in this talk.
we can agree to disagree here, but i do not lack empathy at all lol. i don't think i need to work on that but thanks for the advice anyway

Sure sounds cool and has plenty of privileges but she is still a kid to this day, the pressure is huge. just think about all the famous young celebrities over the years (disney celebrities, singers, youtubers etc) that nowadays have depression, drug or alcohol issues, or are completely burned out. i dont think u lack empathy, i think u just watched this ep expecting something different and stayed w that feel

I was 13 when I found out who Charli was and now I am 17 . Like I literally grew up watching her all my teen years and the thing is I really really feel connected to her because I feel the things she feel , the things she went through as a teenager , I without knowing what actually she is going through feel exactly the same way , like I always keep repeating 'i don't know ' phrase weirdly somewhat the way she does , I really don't know how that happened but it just really keep happening , with so many similar feelings that she shared on the podcast . So what I'm trying to say is she is just telling the truth and telling everyone just the things that happen to ever other teenager . I have been a really big supporter of her's for a really long time now and I really am very thankful that I found her on the internet . Her story reminds me of Michael Jackson, grow up so fast and missed his youth. She is lucky to identify this quickly and I think what she is experiencing is LIFE. LIFE is brutal, everyone wants something from you but what do you want for yourself? I have a feeling that her mates troll her, and that's because as young people, they are not fully formed adults yet. They get to the age of 25 before they mature properly. Some of them are jealous of her fame. The older ones are using her because of her fan base, not all of them are interested in her growth and development. She should work with a mentor, who guides her for HER.

Charli deserves a huge apology from the way the Internet treated her you can dislike her that’s fine but if you were going to go on her page, write hateful stuff about her, telling her that she doesn’t deserve what she has. It’s just really unnecessary.

I Don't like this girls family show, it feels like they mock mental illness by throwing words around for attention. Words which otherwise would mean something really deep/ there are actually people suffering from these. They just throw them around for views. It's either they lack vocabulary to express or articulate basic emotions so they take heavy terms to discribe every small thing. It's unnecessary, especially Dixie. This is their identity now and not about the real issue. What a shame. I feel like this little girl is actually a sweetheart surrounded by toxicity, sadly and that's her family. She seems like she would know better.

This was an interesting interview. However, it’s silly that social media “influencers”/creators who care too much and are unhappy with what the public is saying about them don’t just think “hmm, this is too much for me. Let me do something private and simple with my life” and delete their social media accounts or make them private. It seems like they want everyone to like them even though they’re not really contributing anything of value (other than pushing products for companies). The truth is, it’s easier money compared to professions that require strengthening your mind and contributing something that societies need. They love the fame and what comes with it. Period. It’s disingenuous to pretend like there’s any other reason.

I don’t think you really understood what she was saying. At a young age, she was just doing what she was told and what felt right. After she became famous, her entire family depended on her financially. I’m sure they would have supported her in whatever decision she made, but as a teen girl that’s A Lot of pressure. I don’t think she necessary desired to be famous, it’s something that happened to her and once she was in it she was doing what she thought was going to make everyone around her happy and give them all a good life. Now that she’s fully embraced it, I think she’s able to use her platform to share her story and inspire, teach, and warn young girls. She’s also incredibly talented. She’s not just a social media influencer. If what she’s doing is something she’s good at, why wouldn’t she continue to do it? I don’t think it’s just for fame.

I completely understood what she’s saying. What I said still stands. Her parents were well off before the fame, to say that they depended on her financially is a stretch to say the least. She prob told them she wanted to move to LA and pursue TikTok bc of the reasons listed in my original comment. There is nothing wrong with her doing that. But then to constantly want people to only say positive things about you when you’re doing a (sorry to say this as I truly don’t mean to offend) shallow career and making a ton of money is unrealistic. Either develop a thick skin privately (and stop bringing people into your personal life) or come off of the app.

Its fairly obvious the ppl hating on Charli in this comment section alone do not *l i s t e n* and lack zero empathy..but i'm glad yall were so perfect at 15, 16, even 19. Charli seems a little more at able to handle things now. I'm glad therapy is helping her and she is finding that specs that give her joy. She is very eloquent and aware for a 19 yr old! I was not at all like that at her age. Or 15. Speaking as someone recovering, i understand the impt it is for us to find joy in our life. I too enjoy spending time with my furbaby. Sensitive ppl tend to be more compassionate toward animals. 😅 it makes me glad to see she is getting help and learning tools at expressing her emptions and navigating through life...she's learning abt herself and slowly the mad world! Enjoy your youth girlie. Create memories, share lessons you learn along way (if you want to). I'd love to see her continue to thrive through her life. Thank you Jay for providing Charli the safe space, listen, encouraging her, without judgement. I think it's helped her be more herself and open up. 💖

So many negative comments here. It's not necessary to say mean things about her and Jay.
Older folks may not know who she is but this is an opportunity to learn about her. I bet your younger kids or grand kids knows who she is. She's more popular that the president and DT combine with 150 million viewers compared to 80 million votes and 70 million.
If we are only interested in guest we know then we are the uninterested people.
