  • In a world where one's public image is everything, we here at Bald, LLC would like to propose a different route: that of radical honesty. Have a small penis? Wear it like a tiny, proud badge. Hairy in all the wrong places? Include that despicable rat's nest in your nude pic. What we're trying to say is stop trying to be something you aren't, and live your life as the disgusting, disfigured, and completely unlovable quasi-human-being that you've always known yourself to be.

Now there's so much more body positivity and openness - it's made me become so much more confident in my 'dad-bod average joe' body type that I had tried to change for a decade. Perfect example, I saw a tiktok of a small woman who DEVOURED one of those challenge meals at a restaurant - it was a burger filled with at least 6 patties. Not a single person talked about how unhealthy it was for her to eat such a huge portion size. All the top comments praised her. But a fat woman could literally be just doing a tiktok dance (a form of exercise, mind you) and the comment section will be up in arms about her "health".

You can be fat and healthy, and you can be thin and unhealthy. If I'm thin and unhealthy - not anyone's business but my own. If I'm fat and unhealthy, not anyone's business but my own. Fat shaming and fatphobia is truly one of the final universal frontiers of acceptable judgment and bullying of people, whether they are kids or adults. It was extremely infected apparently and the drs said I was too young, not over weight , and my diet wasn’t bad enough (those are usually the main reasons why one would have their gall bladder removed apparently) but case in point, you just never know what’s truly going on on the inside

It is very frustrating. Despite being a progressive of Mexican descent I had always loved living in Texas. And even after living in Europe during a semester abroad I came back and loved it even more because I hate cold weather in June and I hated how expensive everything was (did love everything else about Europe especially trains and student medical coverage there of course but I live so close to Mexico I’ve always gotten great care timely and cheaply). But after 2016 I’ve been paranoid that I’m unwanted because I’m not white, but now I feel completely discounted and impotent. I studied political science in university and I’ve voted since I was 18 and been voting in primaries and midterms and local elections since 2014 and my district has always been blue but because of Gerrymandering it makes no difference and now because of voting regulations votes are being thrown out willy nilly it feels even more hopeless. I don’t know if there will be a solution in our lifetimes, I worry for my niece and I really don’t want to leave Texas but it feels like the only sane option at this point.

When they talked about criminalizing vs banning abortion they hit the nail on the head. When you tell an anti-choice person that banning abortion will just kill the mothers instead of the babies, their first thought is "good". They would much, much rather someone making that choice or lifestyle they don't agree with die than continue living a life they don't agree with. They place no value on anyone's life outside of their perfect worldview, and that's the truth.

Fat-phobia permeates the healthcare field. The BMI is inherently flawed and has a history of being biased socioeconomically. Thjs measure is mostly why doctors say that loosing weight is good for you. Despite all the flaws with BMI (It’s history and all of its biases), we have found that this test has no practical basis or application.

as a fat person I can definitely say that most doctors see you as fat first before trying to help. I have had lifelong issue with an ankle. constantly spraining it, going to hospital multiple times because of pain, swelling, and unable to put pressure on it. Every time for 18 years I was told it was just because I am fat and needed to lose weight. I finally went to a specialist and after 18 years of many doctor visits and xrays. the specialist took one look at my ankle and said I have an extra bone in my ankle that grew between important ligaments that now have limited mobility. he even showed it to me in the xrays. Turns out every single doctor before him missed a completely extra bone in my ankle even though it is not only visible in x-rays but also u can see where it protrudes from my ankle. all because they were too concerned with me being fat to take me seriously.
