i’m sure you’ve done research, knowing how you work, but please wear an n95 or some sort of a respirator! you can read up on it - although uncured resin may have no odor it’s extremely toxic.
She mentions using jesmonite
@@merryunbirthdaysthe coaster is made with jesmonite. But the blank (that she pours silicone into) is resin.

Awesome work, looking forward to seeing the final product! Some tips for the build process:
1. Printing the coaster flat like that gives you a bit of an "Elephant's foot" at the bottom, just print at a slight angle (with supports) to fix that. You may also create a suction cup effect (bad) with the rings on top of the model if you print it flat, which may lead to print failures. That too can be solved by printing the model at a slight angle (30-45 degrees).
2. Supports come off easiest before curing.
3. If you need prints with fine details, you may want to calibrate your exposure settings. There are plenty of CZcams videos teaching how to do this
4. Wear a mask while working with resin (something better than a surgical mask), at least if you're exposed to normal resins for extended periods of time.
5. Leave your dirty washing water outdoors to cure under the sun (in a big bottle), after that the liquid is safe to pour down the drain (or reuse if it's alcohol).
6. Mix your silicone very carefully to avoid the uncured bits. You may have some unmixed silicone on the sides and at the bottom of your mixing jar, that will not cure.
7. Pour the silicone in a thin string from a bit higher up to prevent bubbles, and tap/shake a bit more violently to release any last bubbles remaining. If you still see bubbles, brush a thin coat of silicone on the print before the pour.
8. You can get a really nice surface if you sand the print, try 2000 grit for example (but start lower). The mold will perfectly replicate the surface finish.
9. Make sure you pour on a level surface :)

I adore the coasters! Particularly, the way the sand looks. Can I make a suggestion? The coasters have a flat bottom. Imagine the same design matching the top and bottom of a coaster, with the bottom being the other direction/ inverted. If you get what I mean hahaha. Such that they easily line with one another when stacked. I think would look nice as a pack of 4 and more!

Im actually waiting for this since im into a 3d printing i wanted to do a resin printing but its just too messy… i actually got accepted to college as an architect but i always wanted to do 3d model but im just getting a certificate to that instead of a diploma so i took architecture and maybe in the future im going to take mechanical engineering

Yoo, I also love Shape3D! It's so intuitive for measurements and I used it to model a set design for my theatrical design class. Putting it in Blender is good for lighting design, too.
Sucks that you have to pay for it in a subscription, but I got a year free for being a student 😖
