- Hello, howdy. Shadow and Bone season 2 guys 😻 I've got to admit, I was a little disappointed overall, just a smidge. But it's still one of my favourite shows ever.
I love the Darkling and am such an Aleksander defender tbh. Hope you guys enjoy this video!! It took way longer than I expected it to.
I've been planning on using this song for Darklina literally since S1 came out.

Firstly this is absolutely beautiful but it's wrenching my heart out at the same time 😩. Secondly, I am genuinely, utterly so heartbroken rn. I finished S2 last night and I absolutely bawled my eyes out when he died. They can change the ending but not his?! I'm so pissed. I watched this show because of him and he's such a great villain, like I've only just recently started to read the books. I don't think I could go on watching if there's another season. I just wish they dragged it out over 2-3 seasons it's so annoying. What's more frustrating is in the end Alina uses merzost and turns dark, like the Darkling said! He said that it would get her, and that she has to make tough decisions. Oh man I'm fuming. I'm still so, so upset over this. So upset. Really don't know how I'm gonna get over this 😞
We are the same when he died I felt very sad that I cried alot. Alina doesn’t know that her kind the Grisha are persecuted by those who don’t have power the Fderjans hunt grish and have them burned at the stake.
On the other hand the drive of the Darkling’s villiany is because for centuries he has been on the run from persecution from the current time that he faced Alina he is already a hardened man. He manipulates people as a survival machinism to conceal his true self to protect himself. I know that the fold is an accident due to the king of Ravka centuries ago’s hubris of letting fear overtake him. As a result this forced Aleksander (The Darkling) to use merzost to attempt to create an army to protect grisha inadvertantly creating the fold.
Alina needs to feel what was it like to be on his shoes as a tast of her medicine as a price of using merzost. Alina is very selfish woman at that point because she knew of the price but still revived her beloved Mal.

He will probably be back in season 3. In the books he is resurrected by sankta elizaveta who was trapped inside the fold. There’s a teaser or a Easter egg of this in season 2 episode 8. If you go back and rewatch the darling’s funeral, you will see a bee appear on Zoya’s shoulder. It’s Alina, Genya and Zoya standing watching his body burn and a bee appears on her shoulder then she flicks it off. Sankta elizaveta is said to have had bees follow her around.
The SONG CHOICE!!!! Gosh this is beautiful. I’m so heartbroken… I wish that she would’ve been directed to be more conflicted, instead of so cold to him throughout season 2, though I understand that throughout season 2 they made him behave less and less redeemable. Ugh. I just wish he could continue on in the show and they could’ve had that Delena angst we all CRAVE!!!

Yes I agree! They simplified their relationship by making her just straight up hate him.
I must admit that I am also a little disappointed with this second season (a little bit). The journey that was told was good but the conclusions a bit average... I don't know.
Now I'll say a few words about Alina and Darkling:
It's more than that. Kirigan has always been there for Alina, no matter what. They are fused. He has always wanted to protect her, even to the point of paying with his life.

He traumatized her so badly though so she had every right to hate him.

I mean he was also kinda right and she never tried to see his pov and she doing exactly what he did to 🤷🏾♀️
@@subnx4763 Don’t get me wrong it’s nuanced, but his actions toward her were inexcusable. He may have been right but the way he treated her was not & he did try to enslave her and abuse her power without her consent and she suffered from ptsd because of it. You can’t ignore that just because of his words, you have to take into account his actions too.

I never said that he was entirely correct I said that she never tried to understand him and most of the things he told her were correct also she's a hypocrite
@@subnx4763 Well she is a teenager who is still figuring her shit out and he’s hundreds of years old so there’s no comparison. She is allowed to make mistakes and be flawed because she’s a kid, he however does not have that excuse. He’s had years to amass wisdom, experience and intellect so no, she’s hardly a hypocrite, because she is nowhere near the megalomaniac that the Darkling is & her actions are much more relatable.
Don’t get me wrong, I find his character wildly interesting, especially the way Ben plays him but I’m not blind to the monster that he has allowed himself to become and Alina is not even in the same league.
