    They have a low income in Georgia, so the prices are more acceptable for foreigners. As for alcohol, they drink too much wine here, many families have a private cellar where they strain the wine. Personally, I prefer beer.

    Actually, the prices for rice and pasta in big packages are quite high... Here in Belgium, you would get good quality rice for 1 euro per kilo, and no need to buy a huge pack. The same goes for fusilli... So it is more or less the same, or even a bit more expensive, than in Belgium, and that's crazy, cause the salaries in Georgia are much lower...

    • @maritacherry6871
      @maritacherry6871 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @senyor_artemis Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@maritacherry6871 well it’s still 85 cents, and in Belgium it’s 1 euro and it will be packed already, so you can buy several packs and have “portions”, instead of buying a huge bag of it…

      The Russian writings for some products are not always linked to Russia in any way. Some products are from Belorus (which uses same font) and Ukraine (pretty similar font), also, some European companies that distribute products in Georgia use different packages for different global regions and they (unfortunately) use Russian language for post-soviet countries to make it less costly for themselves... so you might find russian-font packaging in McDonalds boxes for example, even though these boxes doesn't come from Russia.

    Unfortunately, due to the low income and small salaries, the majority of prices shown in this video are above average or high, at least for locals. There are many other places Tbilisi where you can get the same or better products for way cheaper prices. As for the tourists though, Georgia is a very cheap country and probably a must see destination, especially if you consider how much of different stuff you can see, do and experience there. And I'm not even talking about food or hospitality yet, which are beyond great of course.
    Edit: Also majority, about 80% of the products shown in this video are imported from different countries since Georgia produce very small variety of things. Well of course I don't mean wine, cheese, bread and some other stuff. There is no problem with that there.

    Was Georgia affected by the inflation? Because those prices are quite affordable! Especially that 5kg rice!!

      @annats4439 Před 3 měsíci +5

      We are always affected by inflation 😂 prices are at least doubled compared to 2-3 years ago. It seems cheep only for people who get income from developed countries, for locals most of the things they showed are considered expensive. If you live here and work remotely and get payed in $ for example than it will be affordable.

    I'm so confused? Everyone is saying how expensive stuff is getting, people move to Turkey just for better prices. Surprise to see you gushing about the prices here!

    • @_Salome.
      @_Salome. Před 16 dny +2

      The prices are too much for Georgians. The incomes are too low. 1 lari equals 2.7 bucks or something so it makes sense why prices seem too low for foreigners. Not everything is as nice as it seems. And about moving to Türkiye for shopping, yes that's true. Türkiye's prices are lower than ours ( from our point of view, and from salary), so that's another way of saving money when shopping in Türkiye stuff for the whole month, in just some hundreds of laris. (Barely reachs 500l per month shopping there)
