Thanks for watching and remember to comment below with your thoughts & feedback! - Hry
After roughly 5 or so mini-sessions of watching parts of this playthrough, I've finally gotten through this video and I'm very glad that I did. You CRUSHED the teach and playthrough of this game and really de-mystified the rules for me. Along with the official Feudum Complete Rules + Setup video (and of course the rulebook), I now feel very confident that I can play my first game with minimal roadblocks or blunders. Thank you to all who made this video possible! Really looking forward to getting my copy and playing it. WOW. So good.
Was this play just with the base game?
yes, the base game. i have to recheck to see if they played the tens land properly.
I remember when this video was released, I was having a cancer scare and depressed, laying in bed. This video brought me great comfort and I watched it all the way through, and ended up buying a copy for myself. Thankfully, I'm completely ok and in a much better place now. But this video came up in my recommendations today so I wanted to take a minute to thank Edward for his content.
The dedication with the teach is outstanding, well done Edward! Best in the bizz!
Thank you, Marlon. Appreciate the very kind words!
A successful Starve The People action also removes all rosary beads from chickens in the Farmer's guild.
As someone who is not used to playing games this heavy, my brain hurts.
But I think the official and this explanation combined has prepped me appropriately.
Now I just hope that I don't accidentally break my friend's brains on the way.
Thank you for the video! Ordered a copy to myself. Really looking forward to getting and playing it.
Thanks for a great teach and play-through! It was very enjoyable to watch. Dave played really well! I’m soooo glad I backed this game.
Fantastic video, guys!
Fantastic playthrough guys!
Overwhelming game in terms of rules. Thank you so much for doing this. A fantastic overview with tons of examples. This will be my bible going into this game!
Thank you for the video, this was a huge help. Explanation was perfect and the quality was awesome as always. :)
Thank you, Ryan, and glad to hear that it helped! Cheers
Im loving this new intro btw
Thank you so much for that teach!!
I noticed that at 3:58:00 Blue pilfers from his own farm. You can not pilfer from a farm you rule (though you can from your own other location types).
Also, it didn't come up, but you can pilfer from other player's landscapes as well - so leaving goods on your landscapes to accumulate has a risk of attracting pilferers!
Christopher...It's almost as if YOU wrote the rules and not me, haha. You are correct on both points. One interesting fact: When the "replenishment map" phase occurs, any goods added to your ruled farms become part of your crop.
To anyone watching later, looks like Matt accidentally only moved Edward up 2 points (rather than the actual 3) at 2:10:43
I totally appreciate this detailled rule video. Thanks a lot!
Video starts at 28:45 minutes. The beginning is missing.
After a live-stream, CZcams has to process it. Give it a few hours and the whole thing will be available. Happens after every live-stream on CZcams. Cheers!
Question: If I have a royal writ. Pay a wood get money. Is that a one time use or can you do it over over for as long as you keep that card?
Will you eventually review this game?
At around 3:39:40 Edward says that Dave only completed one column and one row so he could only make 4 points but doesn't he complete 2 columns with the first apple and then the saltpetter and second apple?
At 51:50, doesn't the defending pawn count for defense as well?
Amilcar Piedade yeah that's correct. Same if there are 2 defending pawns. Even though you only *target* 1 pawn, the other still adds its +2 defence :-)
Yup, Christopher is on the ball! He nailed it.
Looks great.. I heard not optimal at two.. any thoughts?
Board Game Trucker I've played 2-player. It's true that there is less competition for guilds with 2 players - which means less opportunity for pull actions and getting royal writ cards - but the game still seems to work surprisingly well. The whole vessels/ferryboat routes thing means that board space is, to an extent, self-regulating. If players need to expand, the board opens naturally.
This might help: "Playing with two players may be even more fun (and challenging) than playing with a group! It opens up the board and allows you to try different strategies, yet still maintains the feel and charm of the game. I've played with 2, 3, 4 and 5 players, and after playing Feudum more than 10 times I've enjoyed every game I've played.” -Playtester, Tim Maylander
I thought one would move the disc on the military track and not add multiple(s) otherwise you'd not be able to start the epic voyage at all. am i getting this all wrong? since you only 4 discs, basically 3 since one goes always on the veneration track and no more can ever be bought.
Yup, discs in this game are basically scarce resource. You have 3 of them, but there are 6 places where you could put them: Epic Voyage track (1), As Reeves in Guilds (2 with 1 vp printed) and Military Track (3). You could go all in on Military, or try both Epic Voyage track and Reeves, maybe some combination.
@czcams.com/video/YcKUNfLKy1Q/video.html Matt needs a saltpeter to play 2x on his previously played card
Stop saying “in which,” Edward. You’re getting the grammar wrong.
One, no he's not. Two, don't be a jerk.
