@@elephantoflight3362 Incompetence. If your job is to be the head of the Department of Labor and you can't answer basic questions pertaining to your duties with a straight answer when questioned by one of your superiors in the government, then you are obviously not qualified for the job that you have been given.
Do you think treating people like family at work is a good thing? "I think that treating people with dignity and respect..." She was asked a yes or no question, and she refused to give a clear answer.
Earlier, you said if your boss at work said that everybody at work was like a family, then you might need a union. Why would that be? Once again, she provided no clear answer.
Should every federal employee show up for work every day? "First, I do want to say again because anything to the contrary is both non-factual and, I think, highly offensive. that the employees in the Department of Labor have been working incredibly hard..." Didn't answer the question and got offended for no reason.
The last part of the discussion had to do with the fact that federal employees from the Department of Labor showed up to work, not to work, but to protest after they were told that they would have to show up for work at least 50 percent of the time. Then Bob Good said ", They showed up to work in person to protest having to show up to work in person. Do you see the irony in that?" "Congressman, I don't think it's right to ridicule the hard work of federal employees." That was once again a yes or no question and I think it further proves the case for incompetence. If her subordinates aren't even showing up for work then how much work is actually getting done. I'm aware that they are probably doing work remotely but my guess is that they were being called in and told to show up for work 50 percent of the time because there was not enough work getting done.

Again, we aren't discussing positions that are frontline and require physical presence. The majority of gov workers aren't needed to be physically present to do their job as long as the IT infrastructure exists and that proper access controls for confidential information are adhered to.

I have friends at the VA that work remote, they wake up, log on to their computer, answer a few emails, then run a program that keeps the computer active doing menial tasks until 10-11, then really wake up, eat lunch for a couple hours, answer a few more emails, then maybe do 2-3 hours of work and log off early around 330.

Abusive people ask questions without really caring to hear the answer & then interrupt every time you try to answer. Feeling sorry for bob good's family.

I worked for a family owned company for 20 years we were treated like just that family. The owner passed we were brought out by a bigger company claming to be family unionized and the was a much worse place to work.

Good for that rep!! There’s sooo much federal bloat no normal company could function on a 40% deficit year after year, for that company to survive they would have to make CUTS which is exactly what this country needs.
