    ABOUT LAW & ORDER SVU
As acting Commander of the SVU, Sergeant Olivia Benson is a seasoned veteran of the unit who has seen it all. She leads with empathy and professionalism, all the while dealing with her difficult past - as a product of rape and a witness to her mother's grief, she can personally relate to each victim she tries to help. Joining her are Det. Odafin “Fin” Tutuola who adds a unique sense of humor and undercover investigative experience. Det. Amanda Rollins has earned her place as an integral part of the team while facing head-on the emotional toll it takes to work SVU, and Det. Dominick “Sonny” Carisi brings a fresh outlook and distinctive style of investigation to the squad.

yes it does, in fact that's part of the job, the job of the defense is to tear part and or cast doubt on the story/testimony of the prosecution and it's witnesses, and vice versa, you may not like it but that's the way it goes.
"It sounds like during the times when she was acting and when it happened

No he wasn't, the point is there is no proof and or evidence other than conjecture and accusation that her, "no" in this case was any different than the dozens of other times she said it, hence that the case boils down to her word it is true, and unfortunately your word is not enough to convict someone of rape, allegedly, people seem to not care about the importance of evidence and law and instead think everything should run on "listen and believe".

It's so sad that when defense lawyers are allowed to disrespect the victims just because they are doing their job. I've been watching a lot of these forensic and courtroom episodes the past 10 years and each time I still feel for the victims when the case is one where the defense are allowed to malign the victims just because they are poor, women or engaged in a profession ThAt's not what the society view as right or acceptable. Just like what the victim said... just because she's into adult entertainment industry it does not mean she's a not a person with rights. It's really sad how provisions in the law can sometimes make the aggrieved party suffer more 😢

Menchie, you and your 75 upvoters are snowflakes, I'm sorry. For hundreds of years, the adversarial justice system has worked in the UK and the USA. The tough adversial system with a tough prosecutor and a tough defence lawyer and a tough judge. That system has been successful for the most part, even with its toughness. If you can't handle justice done the hard and right way, then that's your problem, I'm sorry, same goes to your snowflakey upvoters. As long as the lawyers and the judge and the jury are doing everything legal, then it's all good. We don't have time for this new generation of snowflakey softness. The prosecutor is there to bring his all into proving guilt beyond reasonable doubt, the defence lawyer is there to defend his client, that's it. Feelings don't matter.

As insufferable as the defense attorney is, he's doing exactly what he was hired to do: undermine the prosecution's case.
Attorneys get disbarred for telling witnesses to lie, for committing crimes like fraud, and a number of other reasons, none of which this attorney did. What he was saying was, "Even if my clients are guilty as sin, if I can cast this much doubt on the case, was it really that strong?"
Most lawyers are actually very respectful, but this guy's shtick seems to be getting the answers he wants on cross by being a jerk. It's not a bad strategy, but it doesn't always work.
