Every move I’ve made, I’ve progressed in my career and earned more money for my family. That is my ultimate goal at the end of my day... To provide for my wife and two kids.

I took a pay cut In salary only, the money I make on CZcams (which is more doing what I do now) more than makes up for that pay cut when I switched jobs. I’ve always been open about my income no point hiding.
At earth line I was on around £680 a week, plus around £250 a week on CZcams.
At Harry and sons I was on £600 a week, plus around £500 a week on CZcams.
I’ve since had a pay rise, I’m currently on £750 a week at Harry and sons, plus £500 a week on CZcams. I pull in at least £5000 a month.
My statement still stands, even though I took a “pay cut” which is technically true, like I said the revenue from CZcams increased because of the variety of videos I’ve been able to produce since moving back to class 1,
I’ve always aimed to make more money for my family and switching jobs was in m opinion the right thing to do, my next step is to purchase my own truck and rather than be paid £150 a day like I am at the moment, I’ll be paid around £500 per load. 🤙🏻

I worked at the agency driving class 2. At the moment it's like atleast 11£ /hr and after 8 hours it's 16£ /hr. Atleast right now, the logistic sector is looking extremely sour, almost everyone are looking for new HGV drivers, since there is a massive shortage of them. I lived in Trowbridge and I found a driving job within a week. Hours were quite okay for me, 8-10 hours mon-fri and it was extremely flexible. I realise it might not be the best money ever, but IMO it was enough to have a life outside of the job and I managed to live quite decently and surprisingly without much stress.

I was a physical and mental wreck yet the boss just looked at me as if I was the one with the problem . Driving trucks is what i love but the industry is broken. Delivery demands are unrealistic , the pay is abysmal , road-rage and impatience is chronic and you have people in transport logistics that have no idea what a driver has to deal with on a daily basis. Experienced drivers cant wait to get out of the rat-race and now there is a big problem with recruitment . Too many people have had their head stuck in the sand over driving conditions for many years and now those problems have come home to roost.

@@Mattfoster84 Hi Matt, HGV trade plating is basically delivering vehicles from a to b for an agreed sum of money. Its done with trade plates (red ones you see running up and down the motorways). I specialise in HGV class 1 or 2 which is called heavies within the trade plate industry but you can also do cars and vans which are called lights. I am self employed and I am subcontracted to 1 employer which arranges the trade plates and insurances for you for each vehicle. One you have delivered you move on to the next collection which is either by hire car, public transport or hitching (Ive never hitched by choice). The jobs are allocated to you from a dedicated team that progresses you through the week or whatever days you have agreed to work. The best thing is that the HGV's are usually just tractor units occasionally with trailers, never loaded so no securing loads etc. You get allocated night out pay which you either save by sleeping in the cab or use a hotel whichever you prefer. So you get to see a lot of train stations and countryside between jobs but these costs are allocated in the price for the job so the money is from your wages. So i use a lot of apps for cheap tickets and hotels etc. I enjoy the challenges which is normally the public transport between jobs (finding the cheapest and quickest routes). There are a couple of good companies to work for which you will have to research as I am not promoting the company I work for just the occupation. Its not for everybody but I can honestly say I have enjoyed this career above any others I have had. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. Dave

Change is as good as a rest big fella, and at end of day you've only got one chance at family life, jobs are a plenty.
I did exactly same thing couple week ago, I'm a new pass with young family and I simply couldn't justify 15x2, then 13x3, then on top of each of them 2-3 hrs each day commuting.
Then there's the 6th day ever other week aswell!!!!
Me, I simply felt it too fuxkin dangerous to carry on with the fatigue/stress and risk killing someone, plus the obvious damage to family life was instant, so I quit with just a month under me belt.
I'm Gutted as the company/staff were sound and it was my only door into the industry as a new pass but I'd rather try again and hope for finding work with atleast less commute time, to offset the working time abit than carry on at all.

Some driver's only work shifts between mon-fri, they have every weekend off. Others have been shafted on permanent weekends. The week day workers couldn't care a toss, and the union is corrupt. None of the unions reps works permanent weekends. Ergo, they have no interest whatsoever in challenging the status quo. The industry is full of, 'I'm Alright Jack' merchants.

The good old days finished with the 2008 economic crash and the mass import of economic Eastern European migrants. General haulage companies are going bankrupt by the dozen. If you can get on with one of the large corporations such as Wal-Mart, Sainsbury’s, Royal Mail or BT there’s a future in it, but other than that it’s finished. HGV drivers are now just labourers with a licence and similar rates of pay. Look around you, no British companies can financially compete with Romanian or Eastern European companies. You’ll just go round in circles trying to find something better.
