So How Much RAM do you really need for Gaming in 2024 ?
Need - 16GB is Oaky. You can still make do with 16GB and get good performance. But Some games really use more than 16GB of RAM these days on the highest settings and you can expect to get some dips here and there and it will not maximize the potential of a good GPU.
Perfect - 32GB is Perfect. No Performance problem would be coming from RAM. In some games, due to availability ample RAM, it will easily maximize the potential of a good GPU.

32GB really making a big difference to those 1% lows

I have only 2 slots for RAM sticks on my motherboard, so it was clear to immediately buy 2x 16 GB, a more future-proof purchase.

Does the case latency and timings make any difference when gaming, if so would be nice to know what they that were used.

Ya need to add Elden Ring to the demo mix. I'm an old man I remember seeing 512 vs 1gb and now I think it is time to start doing 32 vs 64 now that most games see a very minor performance boost from 16 to 32.

A $800 -$1000 4070 in 2024 should be doin over 200fps at least with 1080p ultra WITH ray tracing to really be future proof with 16gb of vid ram. Just goes to show just how Nvidia has finessed gamers with this less is more crap they are experts at.

Why only 3000 mhz with DDR5?

@@iavon78 becomes unstable above that without much performance gain

The actual clock rate of memories with DDR technology is half the labeled clock rate. For example, the actual clock rate of DDR5-6000 memories is 3000 MHz, not 6000 MHz.
