I'm Thatguy2525 my mass got strat bombed after getting ground attacked. I didn't kill the 3rd spider but I did kill the 4th with my commander. Thanks for the cast Gyle - The Spider killer :)

Idk if the players have control over their colors or not, but I REALLY appreciate that one team is cool colors and the other is warm colors.

Gyle actually - after watching like 100 casts - got me into downloading FAF and I've got like 15 or 20 games already. Although I'm always joining noob lobbies, my eco is still the worst. These "average Joes" make it look so easy. Tacpissle rules.
Its quite fun aint it? I joined an online lobby, it lagged like no tomorrow and everyone left. So i mostly play offline with bots, but i enjoy myself.
Just try to make priority in building and upgrading matter extractors
I usually start upgrading 1matter extractor to T2 at the very start.
Then another 1, then another 1, than another 2 simultaneously, etc.

Well, turns out sacrificing over 100000 mass into opponents bases is a good way to throw a game. Sacrificing a ML for four T3 mexes might be considered an even trade especially if it takes time to rebuild, but not if your opponent has immediate access to the reclaim.
Yeah those 5? Monkeys were what won it for the other team.
If that mass had been invested into crabs instead, with their torpedoes and great range that would have made a huge difference

19:10 Actually a good play to submerge them, 95 torpedo dps for a Sera destroyer vs 30 for a UEF one.
That monkey lord micro had me screaming out loud.

They really need to make wrecks targettable rather than ground firing. The Mass from the constant feeding of 1 Monkey Lord at a time was what turned that fight IMO.

1:13 it's intellisense, it's a tool that coders can use and basically acts like autocomplete for coding
Ah that makes more sense then.
Among other things, such as being able to go to definitions with a click of a button and is able to flag small mistakes before running the code. All in all - very exciting!

Great game, but some of the most frustrating Monkeylord play I've ever seen, ouch.

That second Monkeylord kill damn near had me raging as a viewer. I mean done shit like that but I'm a shit player, I would get stomped, nuked, then pissed on, then stomped, again by the 500 player. But with players that play in these matches I expect better than to send a game ender unit in and then just let it sit there manually targeting all the t1 and t2 units.
I normally send Monkeylords in in pairs when I'm trying to assassinate or nuet a base, singles end up dying pretty fast.
3's for me, it's not a kill unless it's overkill
@@mikeg8564 I tend to stick to multiples of 2 or 5. I guess its a bit of an OCD thing lol.
I think the problem is more that people seem to think that all units, even experimental units like spiders, lack the ability to withdraw from a fight after causing damage and its what throws loads of games like this. Spiders have stealth for a reason, its to be sneaky ofc and do surprise attacks but nowhere does it say they have to be hit and suicide attacks rather than hit and RUN attacks.
I am always impressed when I see the rare few times a player does a poke with a spider, kills a few units and mexes before simply walking away to keep the spider in the game as a constant threat and avoid mass gifting it. Its using stealth so either the enemy team has to constantly worry about where it is and/or spend time and resources scouting for it which in a game like this can be worth a lot on its own.
@@TheHuffur That can work when you are using it to hit outer bases and FOBs but when you go for a main bases, just getting there will heavily dmg a fresh ML normally and then you have T3 air attacking it plus piss ants on the ground and turrets. If attacking a main base it doesn't have a hope of surviving a retreat. Even sending in two doesn't guaranty one will survive with a retreat. Many times I've had them both die on approach or right as they arrive.
@@Zankaroo well thats the point I am making, MLs should generally not be expected to survive attacking a main base like that so why do it? There are plenty of other targets around the map.
Imo its a misplay on a similar level of sending a Fatboy with a move command into the enemy base without any ground or air support, rarely if ever works out because its not built for that.
It's so nice that this game still lives on!

Your sound levels are great now Gyle! Even on my very quiet laptop I can now hear you loud and clear :). If you're interested, look up the Multiband compressor effect for your voice recording. It levels your voice sounds and flattens out peaks, thus allowing you to push the audio track a little louder without clipping. This in turn should allow you to increase game sounds as well without overshadowing your voice recording.
Doubt gyle will se this or anyone but deserve so much more attention this does and game itself. I got back into playing it again hmu if anyone sees this same names but 10/10 gyle never stop

lol It's very easy to misclick and when you do it costs. In my few matches, I've learned this game is very unforgiving.
I'm going to have to stop modding Factorio for a while once that new VSC extension comes out 😬😍.

It's a lot easier to follow along when the teams pick Cold vs Warm colours.
I wish Luck hadn't gone full turtle mode, when his team was on the offensive. Could have escorted the Monkey Lord with a few titans and percivals, instead of building SACUs, SAMs and Ravagers in pointless positions.
TBH he did pretty well considering the 500+ gap between him and the enemy team. The too-passive play is pretty typical of weak players but it's at least better than heedless aggression -- isma overcommitted his com, and fede completely threw the game by spoon-feeding the better part of a dozen MLs worth of mass into the enemy base.
All the gains on the top side early meant nothing after they threw the advantage away.
In a game like this, I’ve had a good amount of success with Vipers, MML’s, vs Sera or UEF cruisers when you’re locked out of the water but the lakes are thin.
Just something to remember if you guys ever find yourself in that position. You can really beat cruisers back with their own medicine essentially

Also THE BALLS on thatguy lmao he goes toe to toe with a monkeylord twice and both times hits 1600 hp, 1.5 seconds from death when he overcharge kills the monkeylord and ranks up in veterancy not once but TWICE. Absolute maniac that can't be planned its got to be dumb luck. If either monkeylord was micro'd better he dies both times. Just insane luck his opponent let him get away with this.

Do you accept dual gap games? I played one yesterday with a whole bunch of game enders that went back and forth. If you do, how do I send it to you?
Man, I remember when the Monkeylord used to be an epic unit that wouldn't lose 2/3rds of its HP to a few T2 tanks trickling in one at a time.
Admittedly control was not good but still the unit itself seems direly lacking in HP.
They're cheap (for an epic), their DPS is insane, and they are stealthed. But if you're going to go with ML's, you need to be prepared to micro them properly when they launch that attack.
@@Vastin All of that is true, but if they have as little HP as they have here, your micro can be epic and they still won't do enough damage to the enemy to offset the huge chunk of mass they will leave in the enemy base when they get killed by a few T2 units.

Man everytime I try to get into this game I feel like a weak point of the team. Love the game, but god is it hard to get into.
I laugh every time you make fun of the "lack of manliness" of full share. But... Now that I am thinking about it for the hundredth time... Why would all the buildings blow up if a commander dies?
It would make sense that they are networked and transfer control to the next most skilled commander 🤔

Great game, anyways, how does Gyle decide someone is an 'average joe' or a pro?
He tends to go based off of the ranking system that you can see in the scoreboard. For example Baller is 1393 ranking. Gyle tends to say people ranked 1500 and below are average joes more or less. Pros are above that or perhaps would be more like 1800 to 2500. Although I could be wrong about that pro ranking range, I pretty much only watch his videos or play comp stomp matches lmao.

Oof, wrong guy got the double base. Unit choice and micro for the many monkeylords were both poor. Experimentals are not the end all be all. Thatguy did not even have the gun upgrade :o
Kick the volume gain up another 10-20%, they've definitely been quiet.
Always enjoy your casts. Shame team one threw this one, they had it.

Such a weird damn match, you think that players are doing something and then you realize that they've moved away, but not done anything to affect the match... oh and Thatguy using his Com to just send out missiles... yeah. Not something that I would agree with.
Volume still seems a bit low. For relative strength I usually sit on 18-24 local volume for 95%+ of applications, but I have to crank it up to 30-40 to hear you consistently.
Someone should report Fede97 to the authorities for monkey abuse
