Aileen's face when Tim Foust's bass came in was priceless
Women should just sit on their subwoofers for that part.
I have watched a LOT of women watch this song, and it happens EVERY time.
He hit the wet note.
Not a dry seat in the house
"Like how cigar smoke would sound" is a perfect description!
I was finna' say the same thing.
Absolutely. Tim has such a rich, clean bass. He is an amazing vocalist.
**** WELCOME TO HOME FREE*****
OMG...Girl I can't believe you've never heard of them! Home Fries (FANS) are going to have fun with you!
A couple suggestions... "LISTEN TO THE MUSIC" and "BLUE AIN'T YOUR COLOR".... very unique group!
peace....... LOVE YOUR SMILE!
Checkout their CZcams and see their catalog.
I would like if you did BLIND reactions as their VOCALS...are simply NEXT LEVEL!!!
peace
Home Free: "When A Man Loves a Woman", "Listen to the Music", "The Butts Remix", oh hell.... do 'em all!!
Austin Brown sound amazingly singing it!!
I forgot about the butts remix, gotta rewatch that right now! Thanks. Peace from Northern Michigan!
You missed an important song..Elvira with the Oakridge boys is another of their best.
Every time I here this song I see the movie oh brother where art thou
Do you need to try when a Man loves a woman he’s singing it to his girlfriend. Also, remember, all instruments are played by mouth.
Was going to say the same thing.
I don’t think she’s gonna be able to get through that song……. It’s damn near better than the original.
I agree with all the comments above. I believe When a Man Loves a Women was written for Austin, years before he was born.
Think its called Beat boxing
Home Free is an amazing a cappella band. It’s a “mouth harp” sound that sounds like a didgeridoo. It was being done by Chance, back left. The beatboxer Adam, back right, is an amazing talent and he was doing the harmonica, drums and other sounds. All are amazing singers. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low but also sing up with the tenors. They have a large catalogue of songs and sing all genres. All take the lead depending on the song. 3 of them also write songs so they also have a large number of original songs. Enjoy! 🤩😃
or a Jews Harp, also know as a Jaw Harp (in the sticks).
3:35: It's always fun to watch girls react to Tim Foust's bass in this song.
Someone made a compilation video of reactors hearing Tim that he calls Tim-gasms 😂
She was straight hypnotized
I love watching folks have their first "Tim-gasm". The man is amazing.
Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. I am a Home Fry (Home Free Fans) and a new subscriber to your channel for more Home Free. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.
Their version of Crosby Stiles and Nash "Helplessly Hoping" is just AMAZING!
Austin and Rob's voices (the tenors) speak to your emotions. Tim's voice (the bass) goes straight to the lizard brain.
Saw them live 3 weeks ago...they are just as good in person
Imagine the practice it takes to get this harmonized and note perfect.
That awesome bass voice you enjoyed was Tim Foust. For a truly jaw dropping performance you should check out him and Peter Hollens singing Misty Mountains (from The Hobbit soundtrack).
When someone hears that deep Tim Faust sound it is called a Timgasm and Aileen's did not disappoint. And this isn't even his lowest notes.
Welcome down the Home Free rabbit hole! 🎷🙏🏼🇺🇸
This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Ring Of Fire", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley", "Skull & Bones" etc.
A very notable thing about Home Free is their collaborations with other musicians. They just released a gorgeous re-recording of Vincent with the original singer-songwriter, Don McLean (not acapella as Don plays guitar and sings). Previously, they recorded with Don a 50th anniversary acapella performance of American Pie. They have collaborated with Kenny Rogers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, and a bunch of others. Some are acts that have had big careers already and some are new/newish acts that they give greater exposure to.
I found Home Free during the COVID quarantine while trying to entertain myself searching through CZcams. At the time I didn't realize I had already seen them win the 2013 season of TV's "The Sing Off". The more videos I watched, the more I fell in love with the group. Their videos are great, and they don't take themselves too seriously which allows for a lot of fun with their music. They seem to be IMHO, the best A Capella group around, although each group seems to have their own specialties. Their covers seem to be an improvement to the original song in most cases. All I can say is keep watching them and learn about them. You will never be disappointed!
My favorite song by HF is Helplessly Hoping. It is pure harmony perfection! Subscribing hoping for more Home Free! Thank you for this one!
Home Free seemingly has endless videos, most are covers, and almost all are truly upgrades from the originals. As you have learned, their harmonies are so pure. This is also wonderful a cappella. The drum beat that you hear in this song sounds so perfect, it is easy to believe that there is someone in the background playing a complete drum set. Nope, it is Adam Rupp who also does the harmonica. Those of us who are Home Free followers love to watch reactors discover the magic of Home Free. They are advertised as a Country Vocal Band, but they do a variety of genres. You will be surprised at how wonderful each sounds. If you decide to check out more of their songs, you will discover that "Home Fries" will follow.
Home Free is a whole vibe. So many great songs. The rabbit hole is deep.
Next, please try their version of "When A Man Loves A Woman! Other will tell you too, You will not be sorry! Great Reaction!
Home Free is a rabbit hole you won't regret going down. Everything they do is on par with this one.
That's Adam Rupp doing his "Beatboxing" thing making all those noises. Your reaction to this song is just PERFECT! You should hear Home Free - Sea Shanty Medley.......Adam goes all out with the beatboxing. I subscribed to your channel for more of your reactions.
Caution: Home Free is highly addictive! 3 of them are song writers so there are lots of originals as well as covers. They sing (and write) in almost every genre. There is no lead singer, whomsoever sounds best doing so sings lead. There are NO instruments - what you're hearing is all vocal. Fall down the rabbit hole - it's a great trip!
thanks to the Late Dr. Ralph Stanley (R.I.P.) and the film, "O Brother, Where Art Thou", for making this a popular piece ..........oh, Aileen, ALL the female reactors swoon at Tim's basso profundo vocals !......
Wait.... What??? You have never heard of Home Free!?? Welcome to becoming a HomeFry! It's a rabbit hole you will be glad you entered! :)
I love how you always pick out and get excited for when you see certain cool things like the harmonica player, it’s always so cute ❤️ You were so right too about the fresh breath of air after being under water when they all started singing together 😭
Home Free is a once in a generation talent. Appreciate them while you can! The instrument you asked about is called a mouth harp.
He is NOT using a mouth harp, yes sounds like one but that is just him.
@@bl6252 Who said he was using a mouth harp?
Aileen, you REALLY need to listen to their "Helplessly Hoping." Absolutely stunning!
Check out their version of "When a man Loves a Woman".
And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We’ll save you a chair.
You’re about to be buried in Home Fries. Brace yourself.
Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em.
All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He’s a world-class vocal percussionist and there’re good reasons he’s called a “Freak of Nature” and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam’s incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete’s sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain’t Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (sleigh bells? seriously?) or his drum solos.
For more of Tim’s seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
For Chance’s smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
For Rob’s soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility. Just wait until you hear him whistle!
For Austin’s soaring tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he’ll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Life Is A Highway, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (Tim wrote the worst country song he could think of, and it remains one of their most requested.) A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen with your eyes closed, ‘cause otherwise you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam’s arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie and Vincent with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For with Peter Hollens.
Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you’ll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim’s mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You’ll need smelling salts after that one.
Don’t miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they’ll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother, Life Is A Highway).
And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times before I gave up and quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either.
Although their covers are amazing, don’t miss their original compositions. They range from the the poignant (So Long Dixie) to the patriotic (Land Of the Free). These include Dive Bar Saints (one of my favorites), Road Sweet Road, Catch Me If You Can, Lonely Girl’s World, The Stargazer Trilogy (Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies, MR), Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget, Love Me Like That, Skull And Bones, and many, many more.
Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don’t just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.
Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole.
The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.
They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do.
There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys.
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. He will be leaving the group in the fall.
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016)
They have collaborated with many singers and legends
Don McLean: Vincent (newest release)
Don McLean:American Pie

Billy Gilman:One Voice
Alabama:Christmas In Dixie

There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO
Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟
They did a very nice version of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” during Lockdown.
More bass.
Same five guys as shown here. L to R
Rob - Chance - Austin - Adam - Tim.
Fiiiiiiiinally. Now, you've got to hear their rendition of "ring of fire" and mayday. Mayday may blow your mind because not everything you heard here is "factual". You'll understand. 😅🤟
A next good option to hear all of their voices individually, try their cover of Take Me Home Country Roads.
It’s absolutely incredible how their sound is with ZERO instruments!!! Just mind blowing!
Thank you for your lovely reaction to this Home Free performance. I've been following you for a little while, so I think you'd like Home Free's version of "When a man loves a woman"
For more harmonizing listen to "How Great Thou Art". To hear the tremendous range of Tim (the bass) listen to him sing "Misty Mountains " with Peter Hollins, then listen to Tim and Austin (Home Free tenor) singing "My Maria". For a real treat listen to Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist 8n "Two Country Singers Try Opera". They will blow your mind.
thank you so much ms Senpai....for yet another wonderful reaction vid...THIS TIME.....to one of my personally favorite groupss online!!......and as always...you are as kind and sweet and warm with your words and descriptions...as you are beautiful!! keep those wonderful reaction vids coming young lady!!
“Tickles that part of your brain”-Aileen Senpai. The look on your face during that bass solo, was EPIC! And I’m with a lot of people here. “ Man Of Constant Sorrow”- George Clooney. Love and light Aileen!!! And your smile at beginning… I absolutely live for!!🤗🙏❤️
George appeared the outstanding “Oh Brother” movie, but the singing was by Dan Timinski. He’s of member of Alison Krauss's band Union Station. 😊
Just subscribed with hopes for more Home Free. They are the best! They do a huge variety of music and each have a very impressive vocal range. They will make you dance, cry and fall out of your seat laughing. They have great personalities and sense of humor and are genuinely good people. Tim, the bass, has a 5+ octave range and Adam, the beatboxer, can't be beat! Enjoy your Home Free journey! You've only just scratched the surface.
"How Great Thou Art" & "Brothers In Arms" get my vote. If you want Tim Foust (Base singer) to rattle your bones, try "Misty Mountains" from the Hobbit, by Peter Hollens, ft. Tim Foust. Just the two of them, 120 layers. OMG!!!
I’m so happy you loved this! Here’s some amazing covers they’ve done for you to pick from:
Honey I’m good
End of the Road
Seven Bridges Road. BUT…..
For some real fun check out their Butts Medley! Love ya!
Home Free is an incredible group. I love watching women melt when they first recognize Tim's bass. I love a group that sings because its fun for them, the Butts Remix was awesome, I laughed the whole way through.
Welcome to the Home fries and Tim Foust’s bass. You should check out the Song Hers Ain’t Mine, it was made by Austin Brown who is the guy with the long ginger hair
The instrument you keep wondering about has been known colloquially in the south for more than150 years as a "Jews harp". It is a curved piece of metal clenched between the teeth and it has a spring like part that one twangs on. I don't know what the proper name is for it.
That is the proper name.
Also sometime called a mouth harp, jaw harp or juice harp. I think those last two are used to avoid saying Jew's - we are conditioned against ethnic identifiers, but of all the things that are said about Jews, identifying them with this instrument is pretty danged benign, especially when you consider all the Nazi propaganda being spouted on the college campuses of late.
I believe the proper name is a "Mouth Harp". If it isn't, than "Mouth Harp" has become the more common (and PC) name for it.
The Jew's harp, also known as jaw harp, juice harp, or mouth harp, is a lamellophone instrument, consisting of a flexible metal or bamboo tongue or reed attached to a frame. Despite the colloquial name, the Jew's harp most likely originated in Siberia, specifically in or around the Altai Mountains, and is of Turkic origin and has no relation to the Jewish people.
Other names: Jew's harp, jaw harp, mouth harp, Ozark harp, juice harp, murchunga, guimbarde, mungiga, vargan, trompe
@@thomasmacdiarmid8251 I guess we better stop calling it Mexican Food, right?😁
Not gonna lie, I'm jealous of that bass voice. Makes my tin can tenor voice just go nope I'm shutting up
Yes I'm glad you decided to listen to this!!❤
I was hoping you'd get to this one... it's AMAZING! You're reaction to it is equally amazing. Love your energy! 😃
Hi there. The main beat boxer and the one that does the harmonica, his name is Adam Rupp. Him and his brother Chris originally started the band. Chris then left and was replaced with the smaller guy with the beard and his name is Adam Chance. In the opening sequence what sounds like a didgeridoo is actually him. The big fella with the beard and the glasses is Rob Lundquist and that guy has a voice of an angel. The main guy singing with the red hair and beard is Austin Brown. Finally and very much not least we come to the bass which is Tim Faust. If you think his voice is low in this one, you should check out the cover of Ring Of Fire that they do. They don’t just do country music. They pretty much will turn their hand to any type of music and some of the funnier ones are, “the butts Melody and the song by Meghan Trainor, All About That Bass “. I think you will enjoy all of those. Thank you so much for doing this one as I am a homefry. That is what any fan of Home Free is known as. Take care of yourself and blessings to you from England.
I could literally tell you started ovulating when Tim dropped that low bass on you ! MORE Home Free please !!
Sounds like you've just become an instant Home Fry. Welcome to the club, my dear. They truly are amazing. They did a cover of Johnny Cash's "RING OF FIRE" that is really good, but my favorite is their cover of Dire Straits' "BROTHERS IN ARMS". Keep 'em coming, delightful reaction, Aileen!
One can't remain in a bad mood listening to Home Free.
Since discovering them in 2017, I've extended my lower range quite a bit, thanx to Tim. 💪🏽😎
Banjo - Ron Block
Bass - Barry Bales
Dobro - Jerry Douglas
Fiddle - Stuart Duncan
Guitar - Chris Sharp
Harmony vocals - Harley Allen, Pat Enright
Lead vocals, guitar - Dan Tyminski
Mandolin - Mike Compton
"End of the Road" cover by Home free is just ridiculously good, I think even better than the original (especially since it leaves out the simping part in the middle of the song). Great reaction as always Aileen, now you are a Home Fry!
Tim's voice is liquid velvet. You can't help but swoon when you hear him.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! Lots of depth to explore here.
In the Blood is amazing as well. If you really want chills, High on That Mountain is insane as well.
Home Free is known for their incredible harmony. You can get doses of their harmony on every single song. Anything you listen to by Home Free will be butter to your ears. I've got 5 of their albums and there's not a song on any of them that I don't enjoy. Very few artists can you say that about.
You have just been introduced to the best a capella group out there, there harmonies are second to none. Thanks for your reaction.
There's a harmonica, and then there's a mouth harp, that's making a bit of a vibrato buzzing sound.
The mouth harp is what starts off the video.
@@AndrewSmootyou do realize this is all being done only with their voices, no instruments.
@@jimmytaylor9854 No instruments are shown, but, there are sounds that no unassisted human could make. There is also a distinct harmonica at 1:43....also, at 3:23
@@AndrewSmoot hard to believe, but there are no instruments. Look it up and also check out their other videos. They are very well known for this.
Nice reaction. So authentic. Love your smile.
You would Love their concerts….a Total BLAST ‼️🎶🎵🎶♥️‼️…… Tim talks Bass 🥴🙃‼️💕‼️…. He’s their spokesman….&, an Awesome comedian as well…a truly Fun Guy 🙃💕♥️🙃🔥🌟
I too was absolutely floored when I heard Home Free cover this song.
Their Beat Boxer, Adam Rupp is absolutely insane
The last guy. Afam chance. Its a mouth harp. Welcome to Home Free. Enjoy the ride down this rabbit hole. They are the most diverse acapella group out there.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole enjoy the ride and us home fries will be with you ❤
Good one, Aileen! Love seeing you loving music. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
The mouth harp in the end is... Chef's kiss! 👏👏👏
You should checkout Home Free’s cover of End of the Road.
3:36 "And here is the moment you can see a storm brewing down south, back to you Tom" 💦😂
Ah, another Home Fry in the making! Put all of their songs in a hat & pick one, you will NOT be disappointed! Some of my faves are 'Country Roads', 'When a man loves a woman', 'Listen to the music' and the Christmas classic 'Oh Holy Night' . It's a rabbit hole well worth going down!
Austin and Rob did a great job in this song. Tim's low voice is the best bass. Home Free is my favorite group. I love Home Free 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Woohoo, you're finally doing Home Free!? Looking so much forward to seeing your reaction now, and here's to hoping that you end up wanting to dig deeper into that rabbithole!
Their singing is like a hug. 'Nuff said. Look for more, because they have more...and it's worth it.
Check out Ring of Fire
Tim hits a G1
Home Free catalog is worth your full attention… I ❤❤❤ them all
Great reaction
Ha! I was waiting for Tim Foust's solo to come along and have the same effect on Aileen as it does on just about every woman ever.
"Mayday" is a really good one and it'll throw you for a loop since Tim( the bassist) doesn't sing bass in it. Of course all their covers are awesome.
You made the Tim Foust face just like the rest of the world when you hear him for the first time 😂
Helplessly hoping is short, but absolute perfection of art.
Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free and the beast Tim Foust, the base who has a five octive range. You haven' t seen anyrhing yet.
Home Free is a VERY DEEP rabbit hole! There's only one mistake you can make with this group -- listening to their cover of "Mayday" too soon. When you get there, you'll understand why it's good to listen to at least 6 other performances before "Mayday." Fortunately, that will be a pleasant task! 🙂 Here are some of their best:

The chicks dig Tim's deep baritone voice
I have been waiting for you to find Home Free. I love your reactions. I look forward to seeing more reactions to Home Free.
Nice review. The look on your face when the Baritone part comes in... priceless.
Your reviews ROCK! Home free is very special. Their recent collaboration with Don McLean Vincent and American Pie are a must! Peace from Northern Michigan!
That bass is just as awesome in real life. They came to my town back in December.
It's very entertaining watching you react to this, your face is very expressive and animated, especially when the deep voiced guy had his moment. You looked lost in the moment, and a little bit in love with these talented performers
"Man of Constant Sorrow" (also known as "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow") is a traditional American folk song first published by Dick Burnett, a partially blind fiddler from Kentucky. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. A version recorded by Emry Arthur in 1928 gave the song its current titles.
Several versions of the song exist that differ in their lyrics and melodies. The song was popularized by the Stanley Brothers, who recorded the song in the 1950s; many other singers recorded versions in the 1960s, most notably by Bob Dylan. Variations of the song have also been recorded under the titles of "Girl of Constant Sorrow" by Joan Baez and by Barbara Dane, "Maid of Constant Sorrow" by Judy Collins, and "Sorrow" by Peter, Paul and Mary. It was released as a single by Ginger Baker's Air Force with vocals by Denny Laine.
Public interest in the song was renewed after the release of the 2000 film _'O Brother, Where Art Thou?,'_ where it plays a central role in the plot, earning the three runaway protagonists public recognition as the Soggy Bottom Boys.
Hi Aileen 😊 Great reaction to Home Free's Man of Constant Sorrow😊👍 I agree with you singing acapella is very tricky and I know as a singer yourself you appreciated their performance 😊 I've read all the comments and all the recommendations for future videos of Home Free are outstanding and I look forward to your reactions to them 😊 Have a great day you and Arya 😊👍
Those bass notes cuddle your soul.
When a man loves a woman and End of the road are amazing!
Reminds me of the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou”
nice reaction aileen. theses guys are certainly talented and unique. as you noticed... all the sounds you hear are human made and there are no traditional instruments used. if you like this kind of creativity and authenticity, i highly recommend postmodern jukebox (aka pmj). they take current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. their rendition of "creep" with haley reinhart is an absolute masterpiece... enjoy! 😎
Hey Aileen , cool your discovering Home Free they are great !!! cheers from Australia !!
Even if you don't review it, you gotta listen to the bass voice off when they sing Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys. Soooo bassssy 😂
You have just dipped your toes into the world of HOME FREE. They have lots of fun together in many of their videos, like "Butts Remix". Tim (the bass) really drops the anchor in a few songs (i.e. Ring of Fire) and Adam does a "Drum Solo" while the rest of the guys take a break. I will warn you though, it does not take much and you will start calling yourself a "Home Fry" as well.
The instrument that was making the "twangy" sound is called a Juice harp.
