I´m sure you are aware of The Golden Gate Quartet, but if not, i think you will appreciate them czcams.com/video/YkWgr4H2PGU/video.html and many more of their songs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Gate_Quartet
The drums playing in the song is their mouth also.
That audio company intro with the slide is THX
"They've almost orchestrated this piece with their voices!"
Yes it's called an 'arrangement'.
She's as giddy as fan and I don't blame her!🤗
I've got 5 kids. If my voice was that deep, I'd have 10.
I have one, almost that low it's annoying when it resonates ur whole head when u talk. Gets old and hurts.
@surferdjnj, same my voice isn’t massively deep it’s about low baritone but it has a ton of vocal fry so it’s allot of vibration so I can sometimes feel my whole throat and neck vibrating and when I go into a deeper voice my head ends up feeling like I stuck my head against a bus window
My vioce is deep and I personally went from 0 to 4 kids in 2 years.
LMAO!!! Good-un...and, I needed a good laugh today. Thx...
@@toxicx994 Fun part is when you hit the right low note and your sinuses resonate so that your vision 'vibrates' 😆
All the home free fans waiting for her to hear “ring of fire”
Especially having in mind there was Avi as well
Yesssssss
Yes! Lets get this comment up there so she will!
I like the Sing-Off version better, it's short, but that last low note is so clear and amazing.
Belinda G, and the Sing-Off version is a half step lower than the one with Avi!
Nobody ever catches the drop in Tim's voice after his solo. He is so amazing
Julia catches it in her reaction.... Tim is even the top comment, pinned by Julia!

yeah, crappy headphones
I sure do. Whew! Lol
I mean, she did catch that though.
@@imagzz4942 Ya, I was glad she did. Not a lot of people do
This girl has the best expressions, she is always giggling and excited by nuances in music. Love it!
That's why I love music/vocal nerds
One could even say she was... Charismatic
Me too. She is enjoyable to watch.
She's a darling ♥️
She REALLY knows music! She’s an opera singer.
WOW! You have such an expressive face when you listen. Perfect for reactions, but never play poker!
I love her expressions. It’s like she’s experiencing sensory overload.
An easy "tell".
Lol

Home Free ~ How Great Thou Art--- you will not be disappointed !
Yes, agree!!!
absolutely :)
Tears.... EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
The. Best.Version. Ever.
My brain still can't comprehend that it's not actually a harmonica...it's too perfect
Harmonica AKA Mississippi Saxophone.
Also known as a no-monica😉
It's a.i. generation
Tim Foust ,their bassist, is perfectly capable of blowing stage monitors with his voice.
And he sings falsetto.
This make me want to watch "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
I own the movie, you'll love it! I've watched it ooohh a million times! George Clooney is masterful in this movie!
@@radicalrick9587 yeah, I have it too, just haven't seen it in years.....
I dont want FOP goddammit... I'm a Dapper Dan man...
@Kernelpickle bruh..... I fucking love O Brother... and the Cohen's.. some how I've never realized they made O' Brother...
Bruh you really just fucked me up... idk how I never realized this? Cuz as soon as you said, like a switch went off and I was "of course it is"... sometimes I seriously wonder if I'm retarded..
@Kernelpickle I like it when he says She done count to 3 good dames it! Does it twice in the movie.
This will be a fun rabbit hole for you. Home Free is great.
I don't know anybody that I have introduced them to that didn't instantly love them.
2 yrs later and I am still digging Elizabeth's analysis !!!
I found this during covid, have this song on my phone for singing practice and still come back to see her amazement. Love it
The bass singer ( Tim Foust ) actually has a 5 octave range. If you think he got really low in the group part after his solo here you should hear him at the end of their cover of Ring of Fire when they competed on The Sing Off. You not only hear the note, but you FEEL it.
He is insane. But he hits almost a full octave lower in this cover than he did in Ring of Fire.
When they sang Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan I think one of the reactors said it was an F#0 that Tim held for 13 seconds
2 basses, right?
@@lanhamjr Chance can also sing bass, and does so when Tim takes a higher part. Check out Elizabeth's reaction to their cover of Mayday.
If you like the deep south growl then you have to check out Fall Of The Peacemakers by Molly Hatchet
The bass singer of this group, Tim Foust does a collaboration with Peter Hollens for and A Capella version of Misty Mountains, and The entire group worked with Peter for an a Capella version of Amazing Grace
It's Tim Foust - with an o
@@marciag7342 oh, wow! I didn't even notice that. Thank you for pointing it out. I have corrected it!
I second both of those, they’re great songs. And Peter Hollens is extremely talented, too.
all good ones yes!!!
If she listen's to Tim's rendition of Misty Mountain right now, it may legitimately blow her mind.
I'm going to enjoy watching when you realize that the base (Tim) have over 5 Octaves in range.. He did go so low in "Ring of Fire" that Avi had to smile when he heard how low he went...
You have no idea that the rabbit hole you just entered is waay deeper then you ever dreamed of...
“He’s hanging out below the musical staff for fun.” LOL Yep, and that’s why I love Tim’s voice so much!
I love that your video's are not just some random person listening and nodding...you actually know what you're talking about, your pauses are because you have something meaningful to say!
"They have a really solid bass" oh honey...you have no idea.
Yeah because he is actually a tenor also lol
Like I always like to say, especially after this song, "You Ain't Heard Nothing Yet!!" lol I know it's a double negative but you know exactly what I mean. 😀
Lol. Understatement for sure. Probably one of the best there is in the world. Especially with his 5 or 6 octave range
The three top tier basses in acapela currently are Tim Foust, Avi Kaplan, and Geoff Castalucci of Voice Play. See Oogie Boogie's Song (from Nightmare Before Christmas) Voice Play cover.
BTW, Chance is not at all far behind.
Oh yeah. Geoff has some real subterranean notes in the Oogie Boogie Song.
You should absolutely listen to “Ring of Fire”, as many have said (Tim’s low note at the end!!), but I’m also throwing my hat into the ring for “Auld Lang Syne.” it is heartbreakingly gorgeous, an absolutely stellar arrangement.
100% agree!!
Yes, ring of fire, tho has 2 of the best bass singers on the same track!
Ditto on auld lang syne
Yes please it's incredible I really hope she does.
so Agreed on Ring of Fire(Avi feat.) and Auld lang Syne
You are definitely charismatic. You are terrific with the camera. Your reactions are genuine. Your analysis is sparkling.
I really like how she explains what she's hearing and her facial expressions to match. She's able to Express the emotions within the song very well. She also a very beautiful woman. That does help.
She is my favorite "voice coach reactors" on CZcams.
Voiceplay "Oogie Boogie" song. Their bass singer is the lead and truly demonstrates his ability and range.
Oogie Boogie & Grim Grinning Ghosts both showcase Geoff, the Bass. (and would make a good Halloween reaction.) For Voiceplay in general, 'Moana Medley' or 'Queen in 5 minutes' would be a good place to start. Or to see Home Free & Voiceplay having fun together check out 'Survivor: Hillbillies vs. Zombies.'
Yes! I love how they recorded his base lines so he could take the lead too!
Their Moana Medley is also a fun one in terms of vocal play
@@jeffc8965 this. All of this
Their bass is Tim Foust and his range is insane
Tim Foust and Peter Holland’s duet of misty mountains Tim goes full dragon breath
And then their collaboration on the cover of Bridge Over Trouble Waters, the high tenors will blow your mind.
It’s two tenors (Austin and Rob), a baritone (Adam Chance), a bass (Tim) and a World Championship beatboxer (Adam Rupp).. all musical beasts in their own rights, but even better as an ensemble..
Your joyful exuberance, your giggles, the way you light up on certain parts is SO infectious! I can't help but be in a good mood after watching one of your reactions. Thank you so much for, well, just being you! It's so fun to watch your passion just ignite and blaze across the internet.
Adam Rup, the sound guy, he's an alien. He does the most amazing sounds, including a harmonica. More than simple beatboxing. Adam Chance does some bass, but the star of the deep is Tim Foust. He can do right at the edge of subsonic. It rattles your innards. My favorite from this group is "In The Blood." Beautifully smooth. They have a number of humorous pieces and have a lot of fun with their careers. You might like "Champaign Taste On A Beer Budget". And their "Auld Lang Syne" is beyond stunning.
I'm glad to see you had so much fun with this reaction. Thank you.
Auld Lang Syne is just, well.....perfection
I love their rendition of Elvira that they sang with the Oak Ridge Boys.
Adam’s a super basic beatboxer, though. Not that you need much for a cappella accompaniment.
@@archgirl i will agree he is no sbx finalist but, because of the arrangement "going ham" would distract from the vocals. His fills and specialty noises are what infer, to me, that he is capable of so much more. I wonder how much of the clarity in his harmonica is vocal vs post production....
Welcome to the newest “Home Fry”!
Austin - high tenor, shines on so many songs, southern drawl.
Rob - (glasses), tenor 2, harmonizes so we’ll with Austin. Rob’s a real ham (funny) in some of their videos.
Chance - Baritone, and doubles on bass when the bass sings melody. He’s the one doing the jaw harp on this song.
Tim - great bass with amazing range 5+ octaves. Will sing chest voice down to about G1, can subharmonic and growl down to about C1, but will also sing tenor occasionally around B4, but can falsetto even higher.
Adam - beat boxer extraordinaire. 2x World Champion beat boxer. For a real treat, watch his drum solo videos (live in concert). You’ll be amazed.
Lou F yes, welcome Home Fry. It’s good. 😍
shockingly but Tim can go down a A0
@@proparmed183 Dude can go down to C0, 9 notes below the bottom of the piano and his highest note is A5. Almost 6 octaves.
People keep saying about Adam rupp and his world beatbox championship but I don't find any video
If someone has it can u plzz drop the link cause I wanna see it
@@eligbnsu71 Adam Rupp is also a classically trained Opera Singer
I've heard thst song 10000 times, in 100 different ways...and these folks are still SO Original! sorrow, yes....
Home Free. Almost every song has the same problem - "I really wanted a little more..." Great to see the details picked up and explained so fully, thank-you. Please react to more, there's plenty to explore.
Everyone is all about high notes but I am all about the bass. Tim Foust is just....
I'm all about that bass ;D I love Tim and Adam the most :D
Love that bass
Well she should listen to mayday to see Tim's high notes
Yes, I'm totally all about the bass.

Thank you for introducing me to Home Free. I always enjoy your reactions and analysis of all the groups you do. My music listening life has changed because of Home Free! Thanks
You nailed this analysis not many people can even understand what the first sounds are but you nailed the throat singing part Adam Rupp the beatboxer confirmed that.
You NEED to listen to their arrangement of “how great thou art.” I’m not a religious person, but listening to their version of the song is a spiritual awakening
I swear i can hear an organ at the end.
“Their rhythm section, who is a person and not a rhythm section”
But also a rhythm section...
Geez, I just love your unique combination of delight, awe, and amazing insights!
I'm glad that I stayed to listen to this song. Wonderful Acapella. They harmonize well together and each has his own voice or instrument as you said.
Someone once said that the eyes are the doorway to the soul. Your soul must be happy when it listens to good music - it showns in your eyes. Greetings from Poland.
Love Home Free! You'll be happily hooked if you go down that rabbit hole!
That bass voice is like warm honey in my ears....
Like dark chocolate.
I'm obsessed with this performance. Amazing! Everything and every sound and note is spot on!
Listen to the "Far over the Misty Mountains Cold" song for some true low notes by Tim Foust & Peter Hollens. Enjoy!
This. Tim Foust is Home Frees base and he really let's it rumble in this song
Yes a cool choice.
Peter Hollens is one of my favorite artists!
This. Tim's final note destroys.
Also the "Oogie Boogie Song" by VoicePlay for some subharmonics by Geoff Castellucci.
The noise after Tim’s bass solo, that Adam makes is a woodpecker, I’m sure of it. I’ve listened to it multiple times. He is so talented. They are all so talented.
I think the should try singing the Sound of Silence. I think they would do really well.
agreed
I truly love, to listen to your commentary, insight, and heartfelt analysis. Thank you so much for breaking the songs down and showing us what I would’ve never been able to glean just by listening
I love watching your reaction videos. Your not only spot on with your vocal analogies. You have the cutest expressions and a Great smile. You believe you will become a HomeFree HomeFry before you know it! 😝✌️
"He has SUCH a low voice!" Now go listen to their cover of Mayday and have your mind blown.
I think people need to listen to a few songs first then Mayday is really mind blowing
@@Amanda-uc5jq Agree completely! Mayday is going to be SO much more impressive once she learns their names and is familiar with the voices.
Is that where Adam does a drum solo? It's freaking wild
@@alicerobertson15 No. But I won't explain more because . . . spoilers.
Agreed. But in MAYDAY, Chance is the Bass. Tim shows his High Notes in that video.
God, her excitement and passion is so cute.
I have heard them and I love them. There are songs or voices that I can always listen to. Here you have both, good music, fantastic voices and super arranged. Great.
The guy being called the "beatboxer" is doing what I know as "eefing". It's a century old musical technique, from a time and place where there was a lot of music but few instruments, so people made due
Neat. Never heard of that. I'll have to look up how to do that.
Just an FYI, the phrase is "make do."
@@whiterabbit75 Good to know. And to think, I've been making do, with "making due" all these years. Thanks
@@datcolsol You're welcome. XD
Eefin' and ahhin' is a legit Bluegrass technique for sure.
@@ringding1000 Bluegrass or "Old Time"? I suspect it predates Bill Monroe. That's one of the fun things about traditional/folk music. My thought is, it started at a time and place where instruments were scarce and the need for music was strong. It certainly worked for Bluegrass but I'm guessing it is older
She should also react to misty mountains with peter Hollens featuring Tim. That would be amazing!!
I came to the comments to suggest this
@@emilyleasure8683 Same
Yup. So many good songs they’ve covered with absolute aplomb
I wanted to say this too! Hope she does!
To be honest, i kinda "hate" that song. Peter is just ruins it for me, his voice is way tooo high/light for me to that song. But Tim.. Ohh, i wish i could hear a version where Tim singing it all along.
Tim Foust is the bass and he has at least a 5-octave range. He's awesome!
I only recently discovered these reactions videos and they're great. But I'm surprised that no one yet has pointed out the chorus of BULLFROGS that sound constantly throughout this super awesome video. With the popping noise he imitates another frog and various other animals exclusive to the swamps. If one has never been in the swamps they would not catch it. But this group has mastered these sounds and so perfectly use them.
Being a true bass, Tim Foust is a MASSIVE idol. His lows are absolutely ground-shaking!
When he goes realy low you can feel the vibrations in you chest.
"he's just hanging around below the music staff for fun"
For some truly amazing harmonies, check Home Free's How Great Thou Art
IF you REALLY want to hear how good this group is together, I second this one! It's probably the perfect version of How Great Thou Art...and that video!
What I love about Tim is his amazing range, 5 octaves! Incredible. Video out there of him singing I can't help falling in love with you solo, sooo good!
I have seen these guys a few times in various reaction videos over the past few days and I actually got goosebumps again, hearing them and seeing your face as they started. Your facial expressions are just perfect 👌🏼
If you want to see Tim (the Bass) and Avi singing together check out their cover of "Ring of Fire'. I'd also recommend their "Butts Remix'. This is a fun mashup that spans multiple genres, (country, pop, rock...)
I’ve watched an s-ton of reaction videos by various artists, voice coaches, etc but you’re the only one I actually subscribe to, I love the expressiveness of your face and eyes and your enthusiasm as well as the professional expertise you bring to your reviews. Thank you.
Same here!
Tis’ the Truth
Couldn't agree more. Just discovered the whole idea of reaction videos. I've seen a BUNCH who do this song and nobody analyzes it like her. Love it
@Joni Mari Cruz - Me too… I just found Reaction Videos yesterday and I watched a lot of them, mostly on this channel. Once I found this one, I stopped watching the other ones. It's nice to hear someone who knows music talking about music.
When she is excited, she looks like a kid who got *ALL* the stuff she wanted from Santa. I love watching her, and her enthusiasm is infectious.
Elizabeth I totally enjoy the joy you have while listening to this group, aren’t they a joy to listen to! I’ve been listening to them for quite sometime, and I’m an old rocker!
I started listening to this song randomly and I was like “wait, maybe SHE has reacted to this song” and by god you have 😂❤ yessss! Let’s finish this banger 🥰🤘🏼
In home free they dont have a fixed lead , the guys change after who the song fits best and their beatboxer is a 2 times worldchampion with a fun and fitting nickname -- FREAK OF NATURE , people say he must have swallowed a drumkit

I really loved her analysis of the Scorpions Still Loving You!!!
I like Home Free's inventiveness - and this is the best of all their material I've heard. I actually learn so much from you!!! Your musical knowledge is encyclopedic. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to hear you sing!
You do a fantastic job of "listening". You're quick and articulate when you pick out the various nuances of the group. You also knew the instruments voiced by the group by name, unlike some of the other critics who just identified " the noises". You do Home Free justice with a fun and valid criticism. Thank you.
Dang I love this women so much and have been patiently waiting for her to get to this. From way back I could have listed a great number of things I figured she would get all giddy over but left it to everyone else. ...and everyone else did not disappoint as she has slowly made her way through many of them. This however, I just figured she'd be like a kid reacting to the ice cream truck stopping in the neighborhood. ...Especially after learning about her enjoying arranging and working on acca music. Yup just as expected, her infectious excitement even more adorable than usual. 👍
Elizabeth. I LOVE your reactions. You always demonstrate the depth of your knowledge. Thank you
I absolutely love your reaction ♥️ priceless!!
Now that you've discovered "Home Free" (fans are called Home Fries), you should really check out Ring of Fire (featuring Avi) and as a change of pace do End of the Road. Also, just for pure ear candy, have listen to Do You Hear What I Hear (earphones are a must for this one). Great reaction, thanks!!!!
Yes! I just said the same thing about Do You Hear What I Hear. Sweet mother of pearl, I could listen to that song every day.
It's funny to see her with the same reaction we all have the first time we hear these guys ... our mouth hangs open.
I really love how in every video you are just so into every aspect of the song. I listened to this song by a different reaction channel and just had to see if you had reacted to it. I am so happy you have. I love how you can just nerd out over these songs you react to, it shows that you truly enjoy what you do and I need more too.

I love your excitement and enthusiasm!!!
Love your great ear for music, your enthusiasm and joy and your explanations as we go through a song. Thank you.
Can't wait to see this.
I was one of the many recommending reacting to Home Free. They have so many brilliant tracks, many of them with surprises in singing different voices than their usual "roles".
I went to one of their concerts (or parties, as they call them), here in Denmark, and got to shake their hands before they had to break off their European Tour, because of Covid-19.
They are brilliant ... and even more impressive that they perform equally well live, where they add lots of fun and entertainment.
Big thanks from Denmark, for reacting to this, Elizabeth :)
Her facial reactions when she's in profile remind me of a Disney Princess.
Loved watching your reaction! So glad you found this group too!
Watching these reactions is so much enjoyable when you have someone who truly loves music and obvious knowledge in music, I just loved your enthusiasm!!
Hi Elizabeth, my favourite songs are "Ring of Fire" and Elvira by Home Free, I also love Voice Play, especially their Oogie Boogie song and Moana Mix. Check them out both Home Free and Voice Play have published new songs during the crazy Covid-19 time as well. ENJOY!!!
I definitely second all these suggestions.
The new version of All About the Bass is hilarious.
I'd also like to second what Elaine said and point out that and point out that it was Geoff from Voiceplay that did the arrangement for Home Frees version of Elvira. Voiceplay also does a less than serious version of Elvira in their live show, where the Bass & Tenor fight over the 'Oom pa pa maw maw' part. Finally if you want to see these 2 groups together, their 'Survivor' video is great fun. Yes, they both have better songs out there, but it's fun to watch the zombies (Voiceplay) fight the hillbillies (Home Free!) Wish we could get Avi, Tim and Geoff together for a sub-woofer shattering contest...
Holy moly I love your reactions. So refreshing to hear someone really break down what's happening, especially how you show how much the vocal arrangements make the performance cool. Not just people singing, but how it's blended. Finally, love how you express your enjoyment throughout. Hey, I was thinking you would do more Vocave by now. Hope they are in line and we get to see another awesome reaction soon! :D
Thank you Gray Wade. I really enjoyed making this reaction video!
It's so much fun stopping by here today and seeing your first introduction to the Home Free guys. With all of the water under the bridge since then and having watched your interview with Tim it's just delightful to see this.
Home Free are absolutely phenomenal...as are you and your reviews, so fun, such expertise, much enjoyed and appreciated!!!
I seriously love how excited you get. Im glad I found you as a reactor.

It’s refreshing to see someone who loves music.
When the "Home Free" fans find out you are reviewing their songs, you will see a big boost in your views. As a long time "Homefry" (Home Free fan) may I suggest that you find their performances in the "Sing Off" competition to learn their history, who the singers are and SOME of their capabilities. This is absolutely, without a doubt, the best reaction to this song on CZcams. You and I both had a similar reaction, like the initial lead hand-off and then giggling at the "drum fill" at the end of the song. BTW, when you were talking about sliding into a chord, (6:53) I think this is what you were thinking about. It is the video logo for George Lucas' theater sound reproduction standards known as THX. Theaters whose sound system met the stringent THX standards were allowed to play the THX banner video shown here: czcams.com/video/h-a0A-hupt0/video.html
@@karlsangree4679 Also for some additional background on that "THX sound" The actual sound has a name. It is called Deep Note. It was generated by a supercomputer in 1982.

Hi Elizabeth. Is there anything you can tell us about what the psychology of harmonies is and how it hits us "in the feels?" They can evoke an emotional reaction and I just want to understand it. Thank you!
You and Barry are my fav’s. Your like a breath of fresh air and you can really tell your appreciation.
I love how, at the very beginning, it sounds like someone has just put the needle on an old, crackly record. It just adds to the whole sexy, kind of old time feel of this song. I LOVE THIS! ❤ And I really love the music at the beginning which to me, as an Australian, sounds very like the didgeridoo, which has that same haunting sound to it. 🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
