😂😂😂
LMFAO nice one man nice one.

I’ve tried to backflip off the wall like subzero. I ate the pavement 🤣
@@freddyaramirez9135 hahahahahahahahha I jumped in the air like Liu kang did yeahhh!!!
I'll never forget that walk down the stairs and the music. No chatter. No fanfare. No questioning what is this. Just "We must fight each other now." "Agreed."
Honestly that's literally the best part of the fight 🤧😭

But at the same time he's bit look like Rowan Atkinson
Man, the choreography is just a gift to the eyes. What a wonderful movie.

@@SlickRick4EVERI gotta admit, I was a little disappointed by this fight. Especially when compared to the Scoprion/Cage and Lui/Reptile fights. Neither were in the original movie and were added later, BTW.
@@KoolKeithProductionsit’s crazy to imagine the film without the reptile fight isn’t it. Both in terms of keeping the pace of the film and ramping up the action especially. The film is still “of its time” but it still lasts because of the love you can being put into the project.
Even compared to the latest action flicks the fight choreography holds up, with great visceral impact and flow
Wtf is wrong with you?
How sub-zero causally just walks down the stairs😂
Yeah that walk style is hilarious.

Sub-Zero (Bi-Han), who had faced his nemesis twice, fought four elemental gods, overcome terrains from the thunder wind storm to the depths of the Netherrealm, and faced the fallen Elder God and lived, was killed by a bucket of water thrown by some Shaolin monk with a bushy hair.

Bi Han deserved better... least his fight is better than his brother's in the sequel. :P

It’s probably one of the only few visually successful live adaption of video games. Speaking of king of fighters....
Sub-Zero is a smooth criminal for walking down the stairs like that, such a badass.

Liu: Sorry, it's all I got bro.

Probably feigning his opponent. Uses energy to do, but Liu had the momentum in the fight at this point. A little speculative play is okay. He does it a second time before landing the spinning back kick.
He tried to do the flying dragon kick to get to the other end of the screen faster
Same. Like why Liu? Why does the air anger you so much
He accidently pressed the wrong button.
My child brain melted when I first saw this but now it looks really dated but still fantastic. This movie will always have a special spot in my heart
They better give Sub-zero more respect in the new one. I always thought his fight was way too short, he deserved a better fight. That power move at 00:31 was so epic, I wanted him to win so badly lol
He seems to be the main antagonist in the new one so he's definitely gonna get a lot of screen time.

@@crocop6873 why laughing? Don't you agree?...or have any respect?
This fight was way to damn short...
The way it ended is lame as well. Bucket of water... Smh...
They have to make the scene fit the duration they were going for. Also Liu Kang had no powers yet so he had to use water which freezes
Yeah I wish they used more of Sub-Zero's ice abilities here. But he was literally going to freeze the whole room. Wasn't much Lui-Kang could do since he had nothing but martial arts.
It's probably because François Petit was also working behind the camera 🎥, so his screen time had to be shortened. It was only because they couldn't find a more suitable actor to play Sub-Zero that François got the part for himself.
I read that Robin Shou couldn’t do flips going down the ramp so they just used this clip instead
1:02 😂
I’ve rewatched this so many times, cannot stop laughing 🤣
I really hope that’s true. To be honest, jumping and shouting “jaaaah!” is clearly the more impressive stunt here, let’s not pretend otherwise.
0:31 love that move!
I find comfort in the 1995 film now.
Who's here in 2021 building excitement for the new Mortal Kombat?!
This is more like Mortal Kombat than anything I watched yesterday minus Kung Laos blade hat
Scorpion, Sub-Zero, kano, Liu kang were all incredible even Kabal was great. The rest of the cast was okay except for Reiko but him being a throw away character is very MK.
@@samuelmunoz1464 the big problem for me, its that the New mk movie have poor fights, so short...all less than one minute...and in a lot of cases not throwing a single punch...only fatality...sorry for my bad english its not my natural language
@@samuelmunoz1464 They could have at least made him look like Reiko instead of making him look like some random villain from the opening of a Marvel movie. Don’t even get me started on Reptile.
@@elchopo360 Yeah, the fights weren’t long enough and there wasn’t really any dramatic tension like you see here.
@@samuelmunoz1464 yes, Reiko seems to be a throw away character...and part of the reason is due to most MK fan fucktards that never support Reiko at all. They rather demand characters of other films that have nothing MK related, than having real mortal kombat ones like Reiko and many others. And it really pisses me off that they trash Reiko, knowing that it's one of the most (if not the most) powerful MK character, just watch Reiko fight in mk4 and MK Armageddon.
The music when sub zero turns his head around like that and starts do the ice ball is fire asf

Same here. Somehow, I randomly remembered this exact scene while watching a video on that Boss fight. I felt so stupid afterwards
0:51 "stop kicking me damnit"
Liu Kang doesn't perform any of his special moves, until he has traveled to outworld. It is there in which he performs both his gravity-defying bicycle kick and later his fireball to Reptile and Shang Tsung respectively
Vegeta Solo Outworld magic!
I came here after that invasion season 3 trailer to check out the references people were talking about 😅
Thats how you enter a fight. Swagger down the steps .
Damn, I forgot how much of a chump they made sub-zero in this movie. Makes me appreciate the new movies sub-zero more. At least he got to throw down some cool moves.
At least his costume looks better here
I mean…. not really. He gets quite a few good hits in and catches Liu Kang off guard a couple of times. I like how the movie establishes that Sub-Zero is a defensive fighter who gets quickly overwhelmed by Liu Kang’s fast paced offensive style. He realises this and tries to use his freezing ability to finish Liu Kang off quickly, and he would have if it wasn’t for Kitana’s meddling.
(1:02) Liu Kang's iconic move: "Pointless jump".
@0:30 I felt that backflip kick in my soul back then when I first watched it
На столько мощьно чувствуешь эту битву и красоту боя, не то,что в новой версии. Один взгляд собзиро, что стоит. Просто захватывает.😊
Decent fight. Just wish it lasted a bit longer
The music carries this scene, was epic when watching as a kid non the less. But if you approach this scene logically especially during the ice orb channeling, youll find it amuzing.
The music perfectly fits the progression of the fight.
Even as a kid I didn’t like how he lost to his own power should had him get burned by Liu. But the music and sub zero is a pure badass flipping around doing crazy kicks still makes this a good fight.
@@slayking2378 I feel like that’s a common theme in the movie. Scorpion catches on fire and blows up, Sub-Zero freezes, Reptile falls back into the statue he comes out of and Shang Tsung falls on the spikes he intended to kill Liu with.
The fighting is good I don’t know what you’re smoking. Watching this movie again made me realize how American movies/media’s does fighting Choreography so bad. I’ve seen too many American media where they attack using these wide swings that look like their completely open and predictable, and also just spam punches and never use kicks which a trained fighter wouldn’t do.
0:30 is such a dope move.
That back kick flip was sick

What I loved about the original film was that the fight scenes were so well choreographed and well executed. They felt real. The first movie had some of the best set designs and costumes that I loved.
