The South Asian & East Asian population in North Carolina is crazy high. I have never seen this many Asian people in Charlotte. They are setting up stores and restaurants. It’s really cool to see how diverse it’s becoming in the South Eastern states.

My Asian dad who is from Plymouth, NC, was amazed by all the Asians he saw recently while in Charlotte. In my rural SC town recently, I saw 3 Asians looking at an old defunct Hardees for sale. They gave me a weird look when I said Hi Cuz to them.

They'd my version of how'd u end up here? From all kinds of walks of life's. It's like ohhh sh. An Asian lawyer. Oh, I mean a lawyer ... Ohhh sh. The popo. Nevermind. Ohhh sh. A real estate agent. I'm just being extra,,,, Then there's ppls w/ the large families. Who lied to me & nevermind. I guess Asia in general is actually the largest population ever. Anywho I find sirarcha & Thai chilli sweet sauce at the dollar tree. I find actual chilli sauce at Walmart. I mean like originally made in Asia. I did not know Thai was that popular. Cousin country. They need to add pad Thai sauce at the grocery store ppl love that stuff, me too. But All those things r scores to me bc I hate my few days off on traveling just to run errands & what not. As a white Chicago resident, I see why my city is not interesting to Asians. Chicago has had difficulty to innovate and update its way of doing things for a hundred years. O'Hare is America's fourth largest airport, used to be second largest up until a few years ago, larger than any airport on the East and West coasts, and does not have a direct flight to China. It's insane.

It's presenting significant challenges up here in Canada. Our Asian populations are growing at the same rate as the US, but our population is a tenth the size. This means these enclaves are resisting integration, they're not learning the languages, and division and friction are a result. This is exacerbating the housing crisis, which is taking us down a very difficult road to come back from.

In the Midwest Asians tend to live mostly near major college towns or largest metro areas (same story as mostly everywhere else in the US). In the large Midwest Metro Areas there are direct flights to Asia outside of Chicago and major Asian chains/restaurants such as H-Mart, Bambu, Kura-Sushi, Kung Fu Tea, etc. In some of the large suburban cities; the Asian population has either doubled or tripled in population where now almost 25% of the population and if you look at the school district the % of Asian students is between 40-50% which potentially means those cities will become even more Asian. One of the reasons for why typically Asians aren't in the Midwest are economic. There are some exceptions but the Midwest population has been stagnant due to deindustrialization and not being able to shift into diversifying economy enough and with that there are the issues of brain drain where students will graduate and leave the region.

Having been born and raised here (Pnw) I have seen a meteoric rise in the seattle Asian community here…we always had a large community but it’s getting to California levels in the last decade and it’s not all just prairie daisies folk since we make things extremely competitive. I think Californian Asians would understand this I have lived in LA before myself. Asian communities tend to stagnate local economies in the long term and drive up costs and take away middle class opportunities because we tend to have a hoarder mentality. In Asia it’s overpopulated with limited resources and they all want the same things. So yes we may not commit crimes do well in school have great food & merch…but I’m afraid that too much of a good thing can throw off that delicate balance that makes America the land of opportunities that it once was and is fast losing. It’s important that we preserve the American way of life, the pursuit of individual happiness and giving back.

I don't think Asian products becoming more available is just a matter of the proportion of Asian genes, etc. increasing, but also just other non-Asian groups (mainly and especially white people, also Hispanics to a lesser degree) starting to like the stuff more and buying it themselves as well. Honestly though, I would say that overall the country is becoming culturally less "Asian" in spirit (according to the values actual Asian-majority countries have) as more infinite indiscriminate illxgal immxgration from the entire world becomes more and more extreme and mandatory and unstoppable, since the majority of the world has almost polar opposite culture and values as rich East Asians the countries and cultures they and their ancestors created (and the groups the most opposite are precisely the ones incentivized to come in the largest numbers, and specifically coming disproportionately from the worst criminal, etc. elements of those countries that even those countries don't want), and things keep devolving into this crazy anarcho-tyranny dystopian cyberpunk/Mad-Max/Judge-Dredd/Robocop hellhole type direction.
So the increase in popularity of East Asian culture in specific among non-Asian groups is partially a reaction to that I think, in people who look to rich countries in the Far East as the polar opposite of the US in terms of ideology and values, and wish they lived in a country more cohesive and stable and law-abiding and high-IQ and clean and safe like those ones.

It's deeper than just Asian people. The West has been creeping towards Asian-ness for the past two centuries. In particular, during the Enlightenment, many thinkers in the West looked at China with its meritocratic bureaucracy and its examination system, and thought this would be a great way to replace their own nepotistic aristocracy. Beforehand, in European universities, exams didn't matter, and education was seen as a form of personal tutoring and mentorship. Now, try getting a good education without having to take a test. And we wonder why Asians do so well in certain capacities in the West - they invented those capacities.
