Anyone still struggling to fight him normal no cheesing here’s my tips Go invisible before the fight realease nightsong Beat ketheric thorm as you would unless you make him kys Then use blinding on Merkul makes him into a giant baby Darkness works but sometimes it messes with nightsong, so I would darkness arrows to keep him blinded . Then use column of fire or wall of fire I forget what it’s called and just make a line through him to start cooking him alive then hit him as hard as you can with spells and melee easy mode in my experience
Status on PC Normal Mode, May ´24: It works, but in a limited way. I placed two bags of three explosives each right next to each other, and got a neat explosion - reduced Myrkul by 30 %. BUT there were still three explosives lying around afterwards. They just straight up didn’t trigger, despite lying within a meter of each other. Two smokepowder bombs from one bag, and one vial of fire from the other exploded. Stack up Gale‘s Constitution save bonuses, and cast a 4th Lvl Cloud of Daggers, and any AoE spells you have lying about. I had a Cloudkill on hand, and Myrkul died on his own turn - which is the best kind of victory. It still took several turns to take him down, but it was a whole lot easier. Except for Astarion, who got Moonbeamed by a dominated Aylin. Oh, well…
Alternative would be to use Astarion as a Monk and make sure to max his DEX and make him drink the elixir of Giant Strength (make sure he also has the happy buff) make sure to keep him alive by focusing all your support on Astarion, the rest can deal with the other enemies. Astarion can probably take him down in a few turns with minimal effort.
I haven't tried in current patch Honor mode yet, but people say it got nerfed already so I'm not sure I can give a correct answer w/o actually trying it out first sorry
Lmao I beat him on tactician for the first time yesterday, bringing all my spells, best gear, buffed up, elemental buddies summoned and it was tough as hell so I thought okay lets see how other people did it. I feel like an idiot now xD
This was the tactician hp WAY back when the game first released, please read the patch notes first! But yes, thinking of taking down the video tomorrow since this things way too outdated and if I heard correctly they nerfed the bomb strats
@@LordOfGrabs Btw, I tried it on PC yesterday (normal gamemode) and three explosives worked fine. Reduced him by a third of his hitpoints. I topped him up with Cloukill (scroll) and Cloud of Daggers (4th lvl), and this time I lived. 👍 So, this still works as a how-to. ;) Astarion didn’t, though, because Aylin got herself dominated by the mindflayer, which is just embarrassing for her. Moonbeam is fantastic, unless it’s directed at my characters… 😂

What are you talking about..? Saving Dame Aylin was before Apostle of Myrkul during the fight with Kemeric.. After you save Dame and fight Kemeric Thorn THEN the new boss fight will start which is this one (the video)

what all was used? how did he get that many actions at once? smoke powder satchel, break it, then what between that and fire arrow?
I didn't see. Satchel, filled it with egg sacs, broke the backpack so they all stacked, then burnt them
So when you go to an airport with a bag full of explosives, you are just making a Baldurs Gate 3 reference?

Can just hold all the bombs in your inventory and drop them in front of the boss, it's gonna be abit scattered tho..
