I don't get why some people are so fixated on wireless charging. Especially with fast charging phones like OnePlus, it'll take you about 10-15 minutes to get enough juice for a whole day.

Indeed, a very nice video. Although, you made several technical specification errors. In fact, the OnePlus 12 and 12R charge at 80 w with a 110-volt source here in North america. However, across the pond they will charge at 100 w with a 220-volt source.
Frankly, OnePlus was never gone. They hit stumbling blocks with the nine and 10 series. Consumers simply didn't want to pay the higher prices for those devices. Hypothetically, if there was a resurgence to the brand it happened last year with the 11, pad and the open. All three devices were well-received and came at a price that consumers were willing to pay.
This review pushed me to pick up the 12R! Looking forward for the full review. So far I'm happy with the phone.

4500 nits is actually peak brightness. The device achieves it when watch HDR content in sun with adaptive brightness.
In normal use conditions it will very rarely touch it.

I prefer to have a thin wallet case or attachments on the back of my phone. The wallet cases or attachments that support wireless charging tend to be thicker than those that are just card holders. But then again, they can be taken on and off fairly easily.

Waited for this one since you announced it last month. Don't make us wait so long next time! Lmao. Great phone with huge battery, screen real estate, resolution, price and OxygenOS (although controversial). Guess the downsides are limited updates, cameras, lack of wireless charging and AI features. I'd consider swapping out my Poco F5 for this any day.
Yet, Poco offers a much better value for money, doesn't it? At least that's what I thought.
@@alexdenton6586 this was $399 on release including the $100 trade-in credit for any phone. Poco F5 is similarly priced, but is now nearly a year old at this stage. So this wins for built quality and features imo.

We will see how it ages BUT personally I dont think there's any real midrange competitors at the price point, speaking of off the shelf availability here in the US.
Their phones typically do not age well. Usually the screen gets a green line etc. They are definitely built cheap.
@mjjones1045 Yeah had the display issue on my 9 Pro. Only after 7 months and RMA was no fun. The quality control is probably why they lost carrier partners in the US.

Thoughts on the 8 GB vs 16 GB RAM versions? I bought the cheapest version (8 GB) and traded in my 8 yr old OnePlus 6T and got $160 for the trade in. $370 was my total price which I think is insane for this phone. But wondering if I should have spent $100 more and got the 16 GB version.
8gb is fine if you don't play demanding games on it. Or aren't a super multitasker
