  • I'm Fly Fishing the White River in Arkansas for GIANT Brown trout in this video, when giant brown trout takes the fly and breaks off. The worst feeling in the world is thinking a knot you tied cost your buddy a huge fish...yep, it happened!
    We finally got the water we hoped for and the caddis were everywhere. The trout were rising eagerly to our dry flies. Then it happened...a huge brown eats and breaks off and I tied the knot! Tense moment...
    Fortunately, several brown trout took the dropper for my buddy and the rainbow trout sharked my dry fly before it could get to the browns. It became comical after a while. We caught rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout on caddis patterns until the water came up around 2pm. It was an epic afternoon and we lost count of the fish caught...no doubt we could have caught more nymphing but we were here to throw dries and it was super fun!
    Next trip should be up soon so don't forget to subscribe! Be sure to check out part 1 at the end of the video or below:

      Yea, it really is and the quality is super impressive right now. The state is doing a great job with CNR regulations and the rainbows are some of the best I have seen in nearly 10 years!

    Drew, how often do you make it up to the White River below Bull Shoals Lake or the White River below Beaver Lake in Arkansas?

      Born and still live in Arkansas. I get up several times/year which isn't as much as I did 10 to 12 years ago bc I save my time for destinations now. Now I mostly go when my buddies can go.

    How do you like your Hog Island boat? What model is it please?

    • @LooknFishy
      @LooknFishy  Před 4 lety

      It belongs to my buddy and we love it. It's actually a prototype that Herb with Yampa Valley Angles sold to him when Herb was guiding on the Red during the winter several year ago. Awesome boat for AR tailwaters...not the easiest to maneuver but can take a beating drafts super shallow. Can get up just about any where and we can push it down any shoal if the water drops out on us.

      @LooknFishy  Před 3 lety

      Nah, there are definitely wild browns in our streams...at least one hasn't been stocked since the 70's. Our rainbows are all stocked tho! Missouri has several wild trout streams...check out my missouri trout slam series...9 wild trout streams in 7 days!
