In this video I show you how to activate the smart liftgate this issue is the biggest issue if it is not pre activated by the sales person. MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS LOCKED before attempting to open.

I just bought my 2018 Tuscon Value yesterday... couldn't get the smart liftgate to work for the life of me... saw this video, followed instructions and sure enough, this was my problem (wasn't checked off) and it solved the issue... now smart liftgate works just fine! Thanks for the video!

👍😀🚘 they said that bottom on the remote key was just a bottom and nothing else. (Not for opening the trunk)😏
The issue for me was that I was attempting to use the smart liftgate while the vehicle was unlocked. Thank you so much Hamburger... er... Hyundai Helper. :)

Hi! The back door or tailgate of my Tucson 2013 won't open. We removed the inside cove and tried to open manually but doesn't open. Once my husband press the little knob inside very hard with a screwdriver and it opened but we closed again and it doesn't work again. Could you know how to open it?

The rear hatch actuator is not locking properly on my 2014 Santa Fe Limited. It will catch the first lock but most of the time it does not catch the second secure lock. The result is the lift gate is partially locked but still loose and I get 10 beeps to indicate the hatch is not securely locked. Is there an adjustment I can make to resolve this?

I hope you can help me. Mine doesn't have the smart lift gate. So how do I open the trunk while seated in the driver seat without having to get down, turn off the engine amd press hold the key fab standing behind the trunk.

We bought our daughter a 2012 Hyundai veloster and the smart lock on the hatch isn’t attached and when you try to open it the piece just moves around. How can we open the hatch to get to the locking mechanism? Is there another way to open the hatch without using the smart lock button?
One remote is working and the other is not. brand new oem fob replacement. all buttons work. but the smart trunk does not. any thoughts?

I put extender cables onto the battery so that I could easy plug in a battery charger. The lift won't operate now. I took the extenders off, checked the fuses, checked the button on the glove box, and checked the setting you indicated. Nothing. Any ideas?
How about not opening all the way but if i push it all the way up it closes with out an issue any hell please i have a 2016 tucson limited
Do you have an alternative way? The checkmark didnt work and the trunk no longer beeps like before the checkmark was already marked so I took it off and rechecked

I have a Sonata 2019 and the smart trunk feature wont work anymore. I have the feature checked in the menu settings. And when the car is locked I wait a few min and with key in hand standing at the trunk no 3 beeps. I cant even use the push button on the trunk to open it either. I have to use my keyfob to open the trunk or use the switch in the car to open it. When the car is unlocked the push button works at the back of the car where the emblem is. Any ideas?

Hi there. My 2017 SF power tailgate stopped opening via the keyfob, soft button on the tailgate and the convenience feature. It justs gives 3 beeps and then 2 beeps. it does open via the manual operation after u remove the cover from within the boot, and closes electronically thereafter.

@@kathrynblanchard7753 i did too and had to replace the latch. Was over 250.00 for the part from Amazon but better than over 800 from Hyundai. Works great now

The smart liftgate box is checked on my 2017 Tucson.. . when the keyfob is within range the sensor beeps but the door doesn't open. The sensor beeps 3 times and recycles and repeats beeping three times, but the door doesn't open. Also, with the key fob in range, the door doesn't respond when I try to open it manually. Is this something I can fix?

if the box is checked off and the tail gate no longer lifts ; what component usually goes out that controls that feature? We have a 2017 and the gate is no longer working , I'm thinking its the actuator.

Hey mate we have a 2021 santa fe with a smart tailgate in our garage. The smart tailgate closes but does not open. We tried resetting it as said in the manuel but it won't do. When you press the tailgate handle it tries to open but closes after making a chime sound. I can send you videos of it as well

hey! We have a 2016 Santa Fe and I am missing the option of "smart lift gate" and the fuses seem to be ok. the tailgate lock just wont unlock or lock or anything, we already replaced the lock itself. still same issues.

Hello, thank you for your videos and time helping others. I have a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. My trunk no longer works. I have changed the fuse and even checked that it was enabled which it is and none of these options worked. When I press the button or get close to the trunk with my key it still beeps but never opens. Please help.

Mine still doesn't work (sometimes randomly) even with smart liftgate enabled. When it is having issues, the tailift button inside the vehicle doesn't do anything(you still hear the beeps, though) same with using the remote lift button on my key fob. Tried doing this with car unlocked locked, running and off as well.

2017 Santa fe. Trunk hatch started acting up recently. It normally beeps twice and opens. But lately it beeps 3 times and only unlocks but doesn't lift up. Both boxes have been checked. I did this it did not help. It opens fine but I got new tires two days ago and now the button to make it close only beeps and it does not go down. Could they have done something when they changed my tires?

What do you mean by they don't open? The trunk on the Veloster is not power even though it looks like it from the remote, and the child safety lock could be on for the back door? Let me know if this helps.

Under warranty for sure but should work is the vehicle locked? Once locked you need to walk away with the key for about 20 seconds then walk back to the trunk and wait

I have a Hyundai Azera 2014, from yesterday I cant open my trunk with the smart key and when I try to open from inside, doesn't work neither, I checked the fuse and is in good condition and I changed anyway, not work. I have only the sign of lights when I use the smart key, like is open, but cant unlock it. From yesterday I just can open the trunk using the mechanical way with the key inside of the smart key. I really need help.

I just posted my message requesting for help, and I still searching on the web, and I see my error, because yesterday I was using the glovebox and By mistake I pushed a button inside for enable or disable the automatic trunk opener... should work for models like sedan Or coupe, just check it out, because is working again and I so happy, because I use the trunk so much

Tried this on my 2019 Santa Fe but it did not work! It had been working fine but now will not open. If I manually open and push button on lift gate it will close about 3/4 of the way and has to manually be closed.

Smart Lift is checked Trunk was opening and then immediately closing hitting you. I fixed that by setting the lid height. However now it will open to the new height, but won't close. Keep thinking this is not an isolated problem and the sales guy never went over the tech on this car with me when I purchased it. Maybe because it didn't work. I use to trust Hyundai.

I have a 2017 Santa Fe Luxury. Had something stuck in the trunk and crawled through the back to open manually by using the emergency open button under the panel. Key fob will close the trunk but still won't open it.
