"Leather can be very forgiving... If you ask nicely." Words to work by, words to live by.
Indeed!
As a beginner this is such a nice thing to hear and see, haha. Mistakes can be expensive!
Hahahah “ if you shake it twice your just playing with it “ gold. If you add a joke or two it makes learning fun. Thanks for the video
This tutorial is trimmed WAAYYY down compared to the last one, do you guys prefer this version, or the edit style done for the helmet tutorial? How many of you watched all the way through?
Prince Armory I always watch all the way thru. If I can’t watch the whole vid, I come back and watch the rest later.
Watched all! :) for me, a shorter version doesn't change anything. I'll keep watching, doesn't matter how long it is
i liked the last one better. now this might complaining on a high level but i would like to see some color grading in the video and some cinematic shots like on the alec steele chanel. also i dont think the music fits very well. somewhat more drama would be cool. other than that i love your work and cant wait to start myself learning this craft
@@GermanBlackSheep I haven't really figured out color grading yet. I see how to do it, but I haven't found a LUT that looks right nor do I really have an eye for manual adustments in premiere yet tbh.
@Leonheart Great!
Great pacing yet very clear instructions. My favorites were the additional tips like fixing a miss strike or polishing my hole punch so it doesn’t get stuck. That is excellent experienced advice! Thank you!
Awesome to hear that, thanks!
I really appreciate the fix for goofed beveling! Still a learner, and boo-boos are frequent! This is a great tutorial, thanks for sharing your expertise.
Great, glad you liekd it!
I find your work to be very inspirational. I have 3 step children that are very avid cosplayers and you give me alot of ideas for projects I could do with them.
Awesome, glad to hear that!
Notification on phone, turn on PC, prepare snacks, closing the door, in trance
Thank you so much for the pattern and yet another epic video! hails from Greece!
Thanks!
"Hello again"....ohhh the sound quality.....*LIKE
Haha, nice
This video made me legit giddy and checked every box of my viewer "must-have" checklist. Your narration was awesome, music was *MINT* by filling those periods between narration, also volume was spot on. Genuinely snort laughed at the dye shaking joke, because I'm immature and it was delivered perfectly. The tip about fixing a mis-stamp from the border tool was pure leatherworking gold. I could have watched this for another 20 minutes and never realized what amount of time passed. I am anxiously looking forward to all the future videos, if you need suggestions on topics :D I'm happy to make dema.. suggestions!
Thanks much. Don't need help on video topics, just need more help boosting the signal : )
Another great video tutorial 😃
Awesome, thank you!
A tip for putting on gloves more easily: once you have part of your hand in it, blow some air into it from your wrist. A+ video, I'm really enjoying bingeing this series!
You have opened my eyes to a whole new craft thank you so much. I look forward to making my own full set of armor. I'm also in the process of building a forge so it will be interesting to see the two crafts intersect
Great to hear that. You should look up the Dragon Crusader helmet, I made a steel and leather hybrid helmet.
*Slow Claps* I see i'll be watching MANY videos from you. Well done!
Thank you!
Its Green! LoL! I did watch it all the way through. Good tips and suggestions throughout the tutorial.
Figured I'd mix up the colors a bit from project to project. Might do a full suit in one color theme when all the parts are done.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking in suggestions and applying them to your content. Each step was explained thoroughly without being long winded, I can see clearly what you're doing as you explain, the video length was bang on as far as my particular attention span, as well, I didn't have to touch the volume once. That was my particular beef with previous videos and I'm ecstatic you addressed it. Keep up the fantastic work, I look forward to the next one.
lol the audio levels were pretty wild on the first one I admit.
I just got into leather working and whilst most of my projects are scrape made this inspired me to save up to get some proper stuff to work with!
Good to hear!
Gr8!! And so I begin! Thnku.😉
You're welcome!
Another Great video. I enjoyed both this and the helmet tutorial. I prefer the longer video format you presented with the helmet tutorial; in this one the entire assembly portion was not included, due to the technical issues you had. I look forward to the rest of this series and will post pictures of my builds once completed. Thanks again.
I think this video actually has a couple minutes more dialogue compared to the helmet, i just edited the video down to the audio for this one. The last video definitely had some bits that strained patience but its hard to notice that when you spend days and days editing it.
I like it either way. The longer versions to me are so in-depth and your method and detailed explanations make it great. The shorter version is still great, and I’m fine with either method.
Thanks for the feedback!
New leathercrafter, and this is super helpful. Went back and watched the helmet video and definitely preferred this tempo of video. Looking forward to your next one!
Thanks!
@@Princearmory Also, I'm just making these today (Finally got beveller tools) and I'm lol'ing at the Gloves bit. Great comedic timing
Love it!
Fantastic!
You are the Chris/Clickspring of Leather work! really enjoying these, turns out there's a Tandy in the UK! hmm new hobby on the horizon :)
I keep hearing about this Clickspring channel, I'll have to check it out.
Clickspring!! I highly recommend! You have a very similar style - soft, calm voice, gorgeous close ups & great camera angles with great visual instruction in historical & modern techniques. He works in metal. Time spent watching a master is never wasted. I will never work in metal & love his videos.

I'm looking at these not only because I play DND Beyond, love fantasy stuff, but more importantly, because I like riding motorcycles. I can see how these would make a rider safer in the event they wound up sliding on the ground.
Beautiful! And the patterns matching to the helmet ones you gave... That's so cool! 😀
Yep, probably will do a full suit in this style with patterns for each part.
This is amazing thank you!!
