Something worth mentioning about chicago screws and articulation that I may have missed or may have been covered in another video. Chicago screws are not permanent on their own when it comes to things like movement. They will by their nature wiggle free over time. I recommend a drop of Loctite to keep this from happening. That or remember to check the Chicago screws fairly often to prevent them from disassembling mid use.
Another awesome pattern and tutorial. I can't tell you how much I love the helmet I made from your pattern, wish there was a way to share it. Could you possibly do a simple video on how you come up with patterns?
Absolutely loving the work so far. I've been a blacksmith for a few years now and I've been hesitant to take the leap into leather work, but your videos have inspired me to finally take that step and I've got my leather and tools from Tandy all assembled and your patterns downloaded, wish me luck! Also, a chest piece for this set would be amazing, I'd love to be able to make a full set of this armor for the renfair near me in October, if a tutorial could be made by then.
Oh look! The Fort Worth Tandy store near my house! I make medieval armor as a hobby. Although my preferred medium is steel, the leather looks really nice.
Amazing once again! Soon we’ll have the complete set of tutorials to make a leather armour. 😁😁😁 maybe after that we’ll have some carving tutorials how to make it look even more amazing. Thank you for the video!
Your videos are inspiring. I'm going to try to make my own armor soon! I would love a video on how to make a chest piece with the same "layered effect" as your other videos! Please keep up your excellent videos!
That's pretty neat ,it would work well with metal as well ,thanks for the video it gives me some new ideas ,this is one of my favorite channels, dark horse is another
instead of tape with the pin you can use some small pieces of foam, like some kind of cylinder, you can get that from older builds, there are lots of scraps of foam after a project, those are reusable too, unlike tape and will prevent you to stab yourself with pins when trying the pattern on the shoe...
Is there a complete parts list for this project somewhere? In my case all I really need are the Chicago screws, I've already got a sizeable stash of snaps and regular rivets. But an itemized parts list might be really good for beginners, so they know what size of rivets, snaps, etc they need to buy, and how many.
DANG IT! I'm at the end... Ok Ok,,,, Chest... Head.... Arms.... Feet.... Shoulders........... shin? SHINS! Do a shin... greave ? GREAVES! Do Greaves next!
anyone else having problems with the screw posts coming off with movement over time? i made these for a Halloween costume and i had issues with the screws screwing back off with movement. lost 3 screws before i realized.
put a drop of purple (low strength) loctite in each chicago screw. It will hold it well enough to not work itself loose, but will be removable with pliers in case you need to disassemble or replace any pieces.
Generally speaking you want to shoot for 1/3 of the way through your leather. You can get away with more if you are using particularly thick leather. Likewise if you are using particularly thin leather, you'll want to tool more shallow to leave as much strength in the leather as possible.

He actually does do this or something similar in other projects I've seen him do. Nice catch and thanks for the tips!
Chest piece or gauntlets would be awesome
a pair of pants too
Yes gauntlets
He already did the chest. Just check his channel, you'll find it. :)
He uploaded the chest after I made this comment 🤣
The push pin and tape was pure genius. Your videos always have these hidden gems in addition to an awesome project.
Thank you!
You're seriously my favorite leatherworker. I have yet to see a product you make that I haven't liked or admired the craft put into it.
Careful Prince Armory, you may start a revival of a dying art form. Outstanding, as always.

Don't know how I ended up here but this was amazing. The narration had a sort of asmr effect to it and was equally as good.

Why don't you use oil instead of water for forming? Are you going someday show the stamp are form?
And can I add pies of metal for stilltow.
Starting to learn leather work and had a question. How deep are you cutting with the swivel knife?
