Dr, have you ever seen someone having iron infusions and got hypokalemia (low potassium) as a side effect ( I know many people get low phosphorus as a side effects but I got low potassium instead) I had 2 iron infusions back in July of last year and a month later I got potassium deficiency (I wasn’t taking any diuretics or have vomiting or diarrhea or any type of what would cause it) which I never had and neither did anyone of my family. I have been trying to look for what caused it but doctors seem to not take it seriously and they said they have never seen someone had a reaction like this one. I don’t know if the iron infusions were somehow a stressor on my body that I lost a lot of that mineral… it’s been really overwhelming to me and I’ve been seeking medical help but no body seems to take me seriously. If you offer any private consultations about this issue, I’m willing to do it!

Why say it’s irreversible that’s not encouraging. If it’s true tho then I guess it’s a hard truth. Can I ask, is this the same for SSRI’s?

Depending on the degree of cardiomyopathy it can be irreversible. Really important to look at risk and benefit to individual when using medications (short and long term). As for SSRI's www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0165178123002500
Although the incidence of cardiovascular adverse events associated with SSRIs is low, the potential harm is significant.
