      And it was quite merited, too, since Tim Duncan had one of the biggest trash-talking games in the NBA. Folks look at Tim's quiet demeanor and think he was always quiet. Far be it!
      Few NBA fans realize that Tim Duncan was just as much fueling that Lakers-Spurs trash-talk. He was just more discreet from the public about it. But his wise-ass taunting is infamous.
      The best way to respect your rival is to trash-talk them, and these guys all did it well.

    • @rampartd.1100
      @rampartd.1100 Před 7 lety +26

      The Michael Jordan-Scottie Pippen dynamic is an interesting one. I think this should be the first thing we knock out. I’d rather have an inside-outside threat. Jordan and Pippen would lock down the perimeter, but how, who, and when would they stop Shaq? This is where I hope you pay attention. Kobe and Shaq were Alpha Dogs.
      There was clearly only one Alpha Dog on those Bulls teams. One. Keep in mind Pippen’s best scoring season was 22 ppg, which he did when Jordan was retired and his second best of 21.4 occurred in the 1994-1995 season when Jordan came back to only play 17 games.
      You can’t have an Alpha Dog on defense simply because no one ever says, "dude, you're hogging up all the charges." Alpha Dogs only exist on offense. Pippen, Kerr, Rodman, and Grant were all guys who understood their roles: play defense, hit timely threes, and grab boards. The scoring was Michael’s job.
      In LA, you had a scenario where you had no idea who was going to explode. Teammates began choosing sides - no, teammates had to pick sides. Stopping the two-headed monster was impossible. Only the two-headed monster was capable of stopping itself, which it eventually did, but not before bottling that anger and running through the playoffs at a 15-1 clip and collecting three straight championships on the way. #Kobe&Shaq

    After Showtime died in 91, the dark years were good only for bringing the cost of season seats down...Thank you Kobe & Shaq for coming when you did ... the two of you got us through the next decade and after Shaq left, Kobe was ready to transition to THE MAN... Those next two championships, ESPECIALLY against Boston, cemented Kobe's basketball legacy. I will never, EVER forget Kobe's grit in Game 7 that year... That game was Kobe's greatest in my opinion. Much love to both of them...

      Interesting comment that I can get behind. He shot 6-24 but did just about everything else wonderfully and didn't stop playing hard when the shot wasn't falling. 15 rebs for him is crazy.
      Sidenote: Pau Gasol will be forgotten by casuals but that man could've easily been the Finals MVP.

      They got steam rolled by the pistons in 2004. Phoenix was on the rise in 05 and mavs only got better once shaq left to miami, the reason they won championships was a.) some of those playoff series were rigged b.) eastern conference was a joke early 2000s so winning the wcf solidified a championship .
