What a rendering of tamil and the raga. One of the greatest singers of modern times.. at par with GNB

  • @chandrasekaranvaidyanathan1215

An amazing and fresh interpretation.. laden with lilting surprise inflections... Abhishek, like the truly great masters, shows that manodharmam should flow in and through Krithi rendering too... what a contrast and departure from all those artistes who poorly attempt to parrot the stamp version of KVN!! Leave alone improvisation, many cannot even imitate...

i personally feel the spirit of the song is to some extent lost by the elaborate dynamics indulged in by the vocalist

I think most of us suffer from being too used to a version.. like that of KVN 🙂 I felt deeply connected with the spirit and emotion of the song and the context of the composer.

@@chandrasekaranvaidyanathan1215 There is some truth in your comment- KVN is KVN. But Abhishek sang it a tad too slow and that loses some of the effectiveness of the composition. But still really good.

@@chandrasekaranvaidyanathan1215 Agree, problem with many Carnatic viewers. Fixation to one version.
