    I'm curious if the real Hero is already dead. And we are simply a new Tacet Discord spawned by that "goddess" or whatever and "restore" memories of the hero, thinking that it is our memories. Like how Tacet Discords in Jiyan's quest imitated his comrades to the point that they resisted merging and becoming a Mephis. Which will pose a qusetion of "is having a memories and be physically the same person makes you that person?" Not really, but still...
    MC being an actual Tacet Discord imitating the hero might theoretically seem as enough reason for MC to go nuts with those terrorists agenda. Which might fit psycho organization's ideas and twisted view of us

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci +6

      That's a good point! I kinda see it as The Rover is either:
      1. Having fake memories on a newly created TD. This seems plausible within the magic system of the world. The god just need to put enough fake memories to set the Rover on its way.
      2. The real Rover is already dead. Her body is being repurposed by the god as a puppet. From the little thing I know, this is a plot point used in Punishing Gray Raven with multiple Lucia and her sister.
      The only missing link here is that it's a weird theme for a game about sound and music.
      For PGR, the theme makes sense, since the world blurred the lines between humans and robots, so the central question is "What is humanity? And can you still be human in an inhuman body?". That's kinda the main feature of any android apocalypse story, like Nier Automata or even NIKKE.
      Now, as far as I know, Wuthering Waves haven't made a strong theme in its story yet. So there's a chance for that.

    • @zenixvampirchik652
      @zenixvampirchik652 Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@FeyHunt Well it's too early to tell.
      But with everything being made out of frequencies, from "magic" to seemingly physical objects and threnodian being able to straight up manifest "memory" frequencies into real things
      (somewhat? Genshu Lin possibly sentient interaction with Jiyan made it so weird)
      Idk. It might as well turn into the same direction of blurring the lines between discords and humans.
      Buuut it also might be a part of setting/story bits that remained from the original WuWa story before it was rewritten and changed direction so idk.
      Also I'm not entirely sure if the game's theme is music (at the moment at least)
      Because sound and frequencies do not = to music on their own.
      But it might become a point in the story like some song of humanity or song of chaos? Something about building everything into a melody/song/whatever else to create a stronger resonance with the world. Altough such topics often touch upon/delve into eldritch stuff.
      There is simply to many ways it can go now honestly. And as I didn't played PGR for that much - it's harder for me to think of how Kuro does things/similiar patterns they can use

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@zenixvampirchik652 Now that you mention it, there's already some setup to establish "Chaos vs Order" story in the game.
      The TDs are often called a jumbled mess of frequencies, so it just runs on instinct, while a music itself is kind of an ordered work ot art. Chaotic sounds in sequence are not music.
      Then they sort of establish that the Fractsidus is an anarchist revolutionary who wants to mess up social order, while Jinzhou is fighting to establish order in this world.
      There is a potential theme there in the worldbuilding, but the dynamic is not being played yet in the story.
      There's also already a human aspect of of TDs and animals established in the side quests.
      "Listening to Animals Words" established that animals do have their own language, but we just need to find the right "frequency" to understand it.
      "Stygian Lacrimosa" in Whining Aix's Mire does establish that the TDs can have feelings like love and lost.
      "Until the Forest is No Longer Dim" in Dim Forest reveals that TDs can live with humans, and that he can also think and is quite smart about it. HooHoo also shows some concerns for his companions throughout the story.
      I think they are still building the theme into the story at the moment. We're just watching the foundation being built.
      I just wished they could've done it faster, and more efficiently, since the story should have set the right tone at the start. We could've gone into the actual meat faster. But maybe we'll have a sad twist turn later.

    I might just be reading into things too much tbh, but I think the miracle granting shepherd Scar mentioned might be Jue, since Jue provides miracles in the form of accurate prophecies that protect the people of Jinzhou, which are the white lambs in this case. We still don't know why Jue is protecting Jinzhou and why it left now of all times, there is a big chance there is something crucial about Jue we still do not know.

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci +9

      I can definitely see Jue as the Shepherd, but I have my doubts too. Huanglong and Jue is inspired by Chinese mythology where dragons/serpents are usually not evil. Since Kuro is respecting their Chinese tradition so much, I don't think they will twist it. Everything they did is to "represent" chinese mythology so far.
      We already saw the setup with Jinhsi and we knew that he would be a boss fight. So my theory is that Jue is playing into the Fractsidus' plan. I think it's more likely that he came to the Fractsidus willingly. He just saw the Fractsidus as an alibi to do it under the guise of being corrupted. The first test was that Jinzhou survived the Lament without his help. So he feels that he is ready to let Jinhsi and the entire Jinzhou rule themselves.
      It does sound familiar, because Genshin's Liyue arc is all about the immortals letting mortals to rule over themselves. I will NOT be happy if they repeated the same story as Genshin have. They need to come up with a good lore-related reason why the Sentinel needs to go.
      If I can stretch it a little bit more, I think the Rover and the Sentinel is the tool the "evil god" sent to perpetuate the cycle. The humans are on a losing streak, so they sent them to balance the war. Perhaps Jue realized that it's just a tool, and that its existence needs to go so that the humans can be free from the cycle. Perhaps in its dying breath, it will reveal an important lore information that would otherwise angered the god.
      It's a stretch... I know...

    A good villain always has a point, even if they're 99% wrong and 1% correct. Thanos had a point about balance, even though he was wrong about sustainability: bigger populations invent better ways to sustain life. I think Scar has a point: people will accept others' suffering if it means they get their wish. But his solution doesn't work. Overthrowing society has a huge cost, and new leaders emerge from chaos. You will never achieve perfect equality for everyone. Someone will always rise to leadership and bend society to their ideals.

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci +2

      True! I think the trope is called: "You have a point, but you're an asshole about it".
      That's kinda what I implied by comparing the Fractsidus similar with the World Serprent from Honkai Impact.
      In that game, the main enemy is the Honkai monsters, but there are three factions that disagreed on how to fight it.
      - You have Schiksal which sacrificed young girls as their military backbone.
      - You have the World Serpent, who wants to do natural selection on the whole human population to find the top 0.1% who can fight the Honkai effectively.
      - Then you have the Anti-Entropy who is against any sacrifice, so they build robots and gundams. This is the "good guys" in the story.
      I think we're going to have this same conflict in WuWa, with the Black Shores and the Fractsidus already forming into this triangle nicely.
      Maybe along the way, the Rover will find a better way to do what Fractsidus wants to achieve.

      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@5_tokki Actually, there's one vegetable in my region called bitter greens. It's actually quite delicious.
      Usually, villains having a understandable point is almost immediately make a story grimdark. It is a sign that the world is so messed up that those trying to fix it have to be the bad guys.
      I can understand why a lot of people won't like it, because real life is grimdark already 😆😆. They want escapism in their games.
      Still, my concern is more on whether they can pull it off. Bitter stories need to be written carefully, otherwise it will feel either forced or outright weird.
      Example being: Genshin trying to make us care about Teppei in Inazuma without establishing it's someone we should care about. This fridging trope is often done poorly even in anime or movies.
      Right now, I don't think the writers of this game have shown they are capable writers yet. So I'm crossing my fingers they would improve quickly, or hire someone who knew how to write better.

I will point out if it's an objectively good writing, and I will also point out my subjective views separately.
      In defense to the original commenter, it's a generalization of the bad young adult novel writing trope where "government bad, youth revolution". Of course, nothing is that simple, as much as Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, or Divergent like you to believe. @HayashiKaiji Před měsícem +1

    With the 1.1 story update, there are some interesting new information coming out and maybe I also understand partly why Scar told Rover they are the same.
    If you read the lore scattered around the caves about Jué. And if you reach the end of the 1.1 story, it seems 'possible' that the previous Rover had a hand in the eventual creation of current Jinhsi and her combination of Jué's powers.
    We do know that Jué listens to Rover and it was according to plan that Jué transfers power to Jinhsi, but I think research was needed way before it was possible.
    In the logs of the researchers, it was until a mysterious 'visitor' came that they finally managed to be able to communicate with Jué. The 'visitor' also definitely had interest in the researchers project of replicating Jué's powers. The transfer of Jué's power to Jinhsi's was completely based on that research results of that project. The Rover, even if they don't know it themselves, are preparing for something. And that probably requires, at least to some degree, the combination of TD/Echo's power and the humans.

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  Před měsícem +1

      I think it's hard-confirmed that the visitor is the Rover. It's no mystery then, since Rover is the Master of Jue.
      The more interesting implication is about the Chamber itself, since apparently it comes down with Jue. Which means someone made that chamber way back in the past, even before the Rover exist.
      We also don't know exactly what is Jue. It has a Tacet Mark, but it also can heal it inside the Chamber. Is Jue a mech? Or a dragon Resonator? Or is it a TD? We already know Lingyang is a non-human Resonator, so this is an open question.

      @@HayashiKaiji Yeah, this is getting more grating now you've summarized it.
      Though for point 2, I think it might be just the side effect of being memory wiped. Plus, I would say that Female Rover is pretty emotionless so far. No intense emotion in their speech. And for the last point, it was a flashback.
      Now, WuWa is getting to the more frustrating puzzle box area that Genshin has like "Sky is a Lie" never explained again in 4 years. Though I have to give them props for immediately paying off the whole mystery about the legend of the Rover in the past. We got hard confirmation to build upon the next part of the theorycrafting.
      The problem is... I'm still not convinced WuWa's writers can pull it off. They haven't been great in conveying stories so far.

    My take was that he was talking about Qichi Village, a local story that was a microcosm of the world. The wishes were not wishes at all but using tacit discord power in technologies. They made machine that could not otherwise be possible with normal physics. The shepherd is some unknown god quietly whispering to the people to use more tacit power knowing it would lead to their doom. The village was ruined by the use of too much tacit power. The person who tried to warn the other sheep, the black sheep, just shunned the technology and eventually the technology left a tacit field where Qichi used to be. Sheep weren't sacrificed per se, the technology just took lives with accidents, and experiments.
    But my take makes no sense because wouldn't the Fractsidis agree with the use of tacit technology? They're merging their bodies with TDs, they clearly don't care. I really appreciate this lore video because it gave me another way to look at it. I really struggled with Scar's story because I didn't know if he was talking about Jinzhou, or the village of Qichi, or the world in general. I assumed Qichi. It might be that Chinese story-telling is more convoluted that Canadian story-telling by nature. Maybe to a Chinese audience the story is really easy to follow while my Canadian brain struggles.

      That's a messed up world and I love it! It's already an established trope in dystopian writing where a society decided to vilify a group of people just to have a "boogeyman" to keep everyone united under their rule. As long as there is an enemy to fight, everyone will not fight among themselves.
      The disturbing thing is that it's quite realistic too, like the "Red Scare" in the US in Cold War or the "War on Terror". Propaganda has been used by any ruling party for good and bad.

    I like you put much thought into the story.. I can see some colations to what I have been thinking..
    I'd taken the approach that Scar is not lying, but talking in riddles. And if it sounds like his lyying, its more like there is truth to it not on the sruface. This is what I read from Scar.
    Two things I have taken notice of the story and stand out. And even if we hold hostile towards him, he shows some reverer towards us too.
    1- Scar calling us/rover, a black lamb is very interesting. There is meaning here.
    2 - What Scar told Jihsi. While we didnt hear it. While I was thinking it was not jue being kidnapped, but rather he joined Factious "willingly' aka, betraying them is my initial thoughts/suspicions. Later on Jihsi with her talk to Chunngli, mentioned if what Scar says is true. We may have to fight Jue, he will become an enemy. This got me thinking,, what if the guardians are not guardians like they are said to be. In the flashback with rover, what if Rover kicked his ass back then. The way he came at Rover, trying to tower over her. it was like he was coming in for a fight. Ever since picking up on this suttle lead, I find the guardians very sus. And its said there is othe guardians in other areas. I get his hunch we going to be fighting them.. But I could be wrong. its a vague gut feeling based on me trying to understand Scar.
    So listening to your thoughts on the story with scar. What if these guardians are these so called shepards. Thats the coliation I find between your theories and my thoughts. Putting your thoughts and my thoughts together, Scar calling us a black sheep holds huge merit. Rover is not controlled by them.
    As for the goddess shown in the begining off the game. At this point in time, I believe Rover to be her Avatar. I would think Rover is to be some type of Warden sent down to keep balance. The fact that Rover has been recorded in historic/oast events, while having the same appearench makes me think this even more so. Its not her first trep and her memory loss might just be from the entity she is. While this still can change with more info that comes in. This is what I think right now.
    Anway, really like seeing what someelse else could make of this story too. So good video.

      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi there! Yes, you do have a good theory here. Though, I'm more leaning on the Sentinels being more like puppets to this so called "evil god". As I elaborated in other comments, it's very unlikely Kuro will make Chinese Serpent Dragons to be evil, since that's not in the CN mythology. I'm leaning towards that they are not evil, but they are created by an evil being to maintain the "balance". But this balance is not necessarily good for the long term survival of humanity. I get the feeling that this so called god must benefit from the cycle of death somehow.
      Scar is also an interesting figure. If you analyze it through the storytelling tropes, he has not cross the "moral event horizon". Therefore, he is not an irredeemable villain just yet. There's probably going to be a quest later where we delve deep into his backstory. Those scars have tales to tell.

      @@WayneZvidza-qh2dp That would be wild if true!
      Though, the only concern I have is that they have different driving motivations:
      Geshu Lin seems to be "victory at all cost, no matter the sacrifice"
      Scar seems to be about "progress and truth at all cost" and it comes from "the pain of Scar's past" as hinted in his boss fight description.
      It looks like people like Geshu Lin might have caused Scar to be born, where he is one of those black lambs sacrificed for the greater good.
      However, there's also an interesting word used in Scar's boss fight description: "memories of a distant night" and "rebirth of new ideas" which can mean the night where Geshu Lin disappears and Scar is born.
      Plus, the timeline does line up. Jinhsi couldn't recognize him, because Geshu Lin is the general from before she was chosen as Magistrate. And Jiyan haven't met Scar yet. Only Jiyan and select few rangers would know exactly if Scar is Geshu Lin.
      It's a fascinating theory!

    The shepherds are most likely the sentinels. I'm not quite sure how the sentinels relate to the resonators but I think there is a high chance that the powers of resonators are connected to them on some way. In the beginning cutscene we see the world being made out of frequencies. I think the devs took inspiration from string theory of physics where they propose that everything that exists is just strings vibrating in different frequencies. If this holds true both the resonators and the TDs draw from the same source.
    We already see that TDs are not as mindless as they seem to be. But the whole of Jinzhou insists that TDs are just mere hollow shells. A viewpoint they most likely got from their sentinels. What are Sentinels anyway? To me they seem like the final evolution stage of TDs, making them TDs themselves. And the most straight forward way of ensuring there is no being strong enough to challenge you is to make sure you dispose of them before they grow to strong. So sentinels fulfill the humans wish for power but in exchange send them out to slaughter what is essentially embryonic sentinels. After all, who likes to share power.
    In chinese web novels about cultivation, powerful beings who seem selfless and and benevolent usually have some ulterior motives for their kindness. Why would the powerful sentinels protect humans if there is nothing to gain from them. They're not even the same species. I think the first reason they protect humans is to use those humans to fight against TDs to keep both of them weak enough to control. This might even be enough, but I also think the sentinels could just hunt TDs themselves the moment they become a threat. So why keep humans? Most likely human resonators are some kind of energy/food source for the sentinels to survive. Every being needs energy and I don't see sentinels eating livestock by the cartful with their size. So their energy needs to come from somewhere else.
    The first thing Fractsidus does in Jinzhou is go after the sentinel Jué even though they say that MC is the key to everything. When remembering that Fractsidus is trying to merge humans with TDs I think MC is exactly what they've been looking for. Some kind of combination of the human hero who saved Jinzhou and a TD which devoured that humans memories. If MC is really what they've been looking for all this time, why go after the sentinel first? I think because the sentinel is the shepherd and they're a danger to the MC. So keeping the sentinel away from the MC as their top priority makes sense.
    I foresee the sentinels being our main raid bosses in the future. We already know every region has one and their shapes can vary wildly. This just screams region end boss setup to me.

      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci

      Good point! You're the first who pointed out a working theory on the diagram I gave in the video.
      The idea that all Sentinels will be a boss fight is a very strong gameplay formula argument. We already knew Jue is the next boss in 1.1, who's to say they won't be a regular staple? However, there's also a possibility that the Sentinels are like the Archons in Genshin. Yes, we did fight the Raiden Shogun, and we probably will fight the Tsaritsa and the Natlan boss, but we didn't fight them all. So it's a 50-50 to me.
      Aside form that, I still see some potential issues and probable fixes.
      One, the sacrifice part. You did fulfill the criteria that the Sentinel is taking advantage of humans, but you're missing the "human sacrifice each other part". I can infer that you're probably referring to the soldiers send to die. But as I said in the video, this is still a bit of a stretch, unless you're inferring the "wishes" as something less concrete like "Jinzhou's prosperity".
      Two, the web novels you refer to is an interpretation or creative liberties that derived from the Chinese mythology. Problem is, so far Kuro is being very faithful to the CN myth so far. They seem to be using "representation" above all else, even if the inclusion don't exactly make sense. Case in point: Lingyang. There's no reason why Lingyang has to exist in the story right now. My point is, the dragons/flying serpents in Chinese myth is almost always benevolent. The people of Jinzhou saw them as a god-like being and Jinhsi as the closest human to it are very loyal to it as well. I don't see much support in this theory yet. Maybe later in 1.1 when we have more information, it will become obvious.
      Overall, I think we can work on this theory together. It's still incomplete, but with more information, we may have a good theory here!

    Yo, we do need lore videos even if it won't be the focus of your channel. The second theory makes sense, but the trick is that in the future, we need a new way other than the extreme methods of the fracsedus faction so they keep the status of villain in the story while finding a bigger evil on the end to give lore reason of making some character like scar playable

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Haha, we'll see! This video does decently for my channel size, but it's clearly far from the best one yet. I do still have some theories that I can double down before 1.1 drop.
      We could definitely use a bigger evil, but I think I would prefer the Honkai Impact approach of multiple factions screwing each other and argue which method is right. The Black Shores claim they were the heroes, but I find it doubtful they never did anything bad. Plus, using this approach, we can have more character dynamics. Imagine if Scar and Aalto have a dueling rivalry. I think that'll be fun to see!

    i think the shepherd is THE WHOLE GROUP OF SENTINELS (LIKE Jue)....and the white lambs are all the people who follow them or praise them...the black lambs however are the people who want to know what is there purpose in this world ...just like rover...rover has to find about himself/herself .... that is why scar said that rover will eventually come to the fractsidus...because the fractsidus are the group of those people who want to know what is there purpose
    so i think in the end we might see a great war between the sentinels and the fractsidus ...where rover will be fighting against the sentinels ...but eventually rover will meet the god (the lady at the beginning) and find the answers of all his questions and finally he would realise that the fractsidus have made such a POV that they are good, but actually they are the real evils...and rover will bring an end to fractsidus....
