- $70 floor DIY 😊
Here is an eight month update of my floor DIY. It made such a difference in this room and really brightened the space. I would recommend using pre mixed grout but even the grout I used works well!
#floordiy #homediyproject #diyflooring #floorupdate #peelsndstickflooring
She didn't just use the peel and stick... she cut them, arranged a pattern and then GROUTED THEM?!?!? GENIUS! the grout will probably make that peel and stick last alot longer too!
There's actually a glue she could've used to keep those things down.
@@candacerain1 They're called "peel and stick" for a reason dude, they already have adhesive
@@je777y 😂
Yeah I agree it’s always good to use that extra glue especially when you have kids.
It doesn’t need extra glue. It clearly says that on the label. I have the same tiles from Traffic Master (sold at The Home Depot) it’s been 5 years and it’s as good as it was the first day. Btw, not all vinyl peel and stick tiles are groutable.
Idk if youve been told this already but just in case-
Next time you smooth a bead of caulk,
Save your finger
Use the back of a plastic spoon
Smoooooooooooth and consistent line every time!
(My dad taught me)
Will try
Thank you and your dad for the tip.
And some caulks are toxic before drying so it's better to be safe than sorry and wear gloves and ventilate the room.
Thank you for sharing. My fingers hurt all the time. I will try this
Thank you both!
The pattern you used is great. Completely changed the entire look of the bathroom. Beautiful.
Herringbone pattern
Yes
I wouldve never thought to grout peel n stick tiles
Can you provide the link to where you purchased the tiles from please.
I love this DIY!! ❤
Important to note that very few peel and stick tiles are groutable. Do your tease arch and clean your floors with tsp.
The base isnt stable. And shifts nothing you do will help
@@thenarrator1984 really sad
Grouting peel and stick is the new greatest thing Ive seen!
Paint the paint the vent covers… brilliant idea!!! Thank you
You did awesome job. I don't think premix is better grout. You just have to mix the grout very well. My husband has done tile for 40 years and always uses the kind you mix. You just have to make sure to mix well and don't get it to runny. Also a unsanded grout in lines 1/8 inch or more will Crack or slump a lot. Also we use bag grout because we like it and we do a lot of grouting. With a small project then I understand the pre mix. You did a great job ❤.
40 years? You and your husband should do youtube tutorials. I bet they would be very informative.
@@NeiveVeve yeah he has been doing it for that long. He could build a house from that land up by himself lol. He does plumbing, electric, and whatever else. He loves to do a full Remodel of a bathroom though. That is what he loves to do. He likes kitchens to. The bathroom though he loves it lol. He is a workaholic though. I mean sun up to sun down. I have to make the man stop and rest or take a day off. He just started lately not working weekends which I love. Lol
I dont understand why but this was very interesting nugget to read ❤
@Tabatha Evans My husband the same way ,they don't work they create and it is absolutely different state of being , comes from heart.
@@nadyulik yes I agree. It's not a job to them. It's a hobby they just get paid for it. My hubby takes huge pride in it. He loves to have a total tear out and remodel. Especially a bathroom those are his favorite. I have seen some huge bathrooms that were so stunning. Those types out of a magazine lol. Then again I have seen smaller ones that are just as beautiful. Bathrooms and kitchens are huge selling points for a home. Prayers and love to you and your family 🙏 ♥.
If the tiles underneath were ceramic, I would’ve left them. I think the warm tone was beautiful, but the new look is nice. It’s kind of cold from my liking but it still looks good and great job with the installation.
Tile was so ugly u don’t have to lie. idek what was the point of the first part of ur comment just compliment the look and move on
Ceramic tiles offer great protection. Use them as an underfloor in case the new tiles leak or something
Ohhhh... I ❤'d the pure tile. Don't get me wrong, she did great work, but everyone has their taste. 😉
I think it's nice to not walk on plastic
Your floor was beautiful
I love how she used the grab bar to hold the ruler in place 😍 instantly followed her
My sister sent me this like I could do it! 🤣🤣🤣 It's like she doesn't even know me!
Lmao
😆
Anyone could do this just fake it till you make it
Save your husband the trouble, don't do it, it "held up" but promise you it's wet underneath, causing Lord knows what others issues
@@nickkk420no it’s Not if she sealed it properly, these are made for use in bathrooms as well. It’s basically plastic sticked on. If that was wood that would be dangerous but it’s pvc
Great work, makes the bathroom look a 100% better 👏 very clean lines 👌 beautiful
Omg. I think you did an excellent job. That looks great!❤
I really like how the new flooring looks with the black doors, very aesthetically pleasing to me
It's so easy to hate in life.. hard to love. You did a good job and if you are happy with the result than i'm happy with you 😊
Nice, that herringbone pattern looks great. Nice job
amazing love how you placed them. I would use a darker grout to just highlight the beautiful placement. excellent.
Turned out beautifully and I love the herringbone pattern! Nice job!
Wow Am I so Happy I saw this short video I have been struggling on a dollar friendly way to fix my bathroom floors and I love how you brought the peel and stick cut in half created a pattern I love and adding the grout amazing I would definitely go with a gray grout because it gives a little more detail to the pattern and looks fantastic.... Thank you thank you I absolutely Love the way it turned out again Thank You...🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍💙💙💙💙
The color doors and cabinets with the wall color and tile I'm IN LOVE ❤ I love monochromatic homes it gives off such a simple yet elegant vibe. ❤❤
Congratulations! You did an absolutely wonderful job! This is very inspiring.
Amazing! loved this budget friendly tips!
Looks so much cleaner with the white!
Ooooooo you trying to say black or brown is dirty? 😏 huh mamacita?
I’m just kidding 😭. As someone who loves white AND marble. I totally agree lol
😂❤
U did it like a pro
You did a great job. I also liked the original flooring.
That changed the vibe of the bathroom and only $70! That’s so inexpensive and a huge change.
You wouldn't believe how expensive it was for us to hire a company to tile our very tiny bathroom floor! What a great idea. Wish we'd done this ourselves!
How much???
@ashton8878 I'm not the OP but I got a quote to tile, in inexpensive tile, 2 small bathrooms totalling 52 square feet including removal of tile in one of the bathrooms. $3800
tile work is not easy. took my ex 2 days to finish the huge shower we had. also the grout on the floor around the pebble tile wore away very easily
@@pinkpugginzpeople have no clue they really think they can learn carpentry after 1 day of watching CZcams 😂
Great job if premix is what you prefer by all means. I realized when working with another contractor that his helped didn’t know how to mix and let the bag grout “slake” for 10-15 mins what ever it says on the bad for the mixture to chemical mix and not just mechanically. I’d removed the painters caulk and go with a silicone it will hold up better to water and dirt.
Girl, you did that 🏆✨️ it's gorgeous ✨️✨️✨️
I lovd the herringbone pattern!!
Wuuo she is Genius. Amaxing floor, 💥 CONHRATULATIONS
Really nice
I have had the same peel & stick tile at home for about 4 months. I've been too scared to attempt it on my own. love that design.
Where did you buy them? 😊
That is amazingly gorgeous….you did an awesome job!!!
You did a great job. Love the pattern you use. ❤
Turned out so nice!! Thanks for sharing with us!!
Do you have a full tutorial of this? Looks amazing ❤
This is so easy you don’t even need a tutorial unless you’re regarded or something
@@Tairone1337that was uncalled for.
I love this, most of the time you just see people use peel and stick, I love the grout and the pattern
Oh you slayed this! As soon as i saw you laying the pattern I was like OOOOHH this gon be NICE
Looks Awesome!! Great job!
It looks beautiful. You did a fabulous job ❤
Would love to see it with black grout. I think it would really pop and would be the perfect accent.
Amazing. I looked it up. A very easy simple way to redo your bathroom. Thanks for this video.
WOW! This looks beautiful ❤️
That floor looks so good! Great job, thanks for sharing!
I love the new look ❤
Looks beautiful. $70? I remember being young and not ending up in bed for days after doing..anything 😂
Girl lol you don’t need to be young.. you just need to be active more regularly!
@@stillmatic03 same thing I just told my mom. She 45 talking about who going to take care of her when she get old 🙄🙄🙄.
Not me! If you don’t stop guilt tripping me into taking care of your young ass.
@@AWholeVibe96 i feel that. my 54 yo mom is less mobile and has less endurance than my 78 yo grandma. idk how to get through to her
@@mmmmmmmmaria 😳😳😳 women are not built like they used to be. I was just on another thread where people (40+) were talking about their moms and grandmas popping out 10+ kids!! There’s no way in hell a woman these days could do that and be healthy 😭😭😭😭.
sounds like you are just inactive
You did a great job. Thanks for sharing
I LOVE IT!!!! I haven’t done this, but my partner and I really want to. We live in an apartment and I’ve seen looks where people use this double sided tape stuff that makes the floor easy to remove. So if you want to have this look while living in an apartment or rent house, that’s totally doable.
If the floor is dated, many landlords would pay for the tile (within reason) if you’re willing to do the labour. I don’t get why people are so nervous about removing things when they move. In most cases they’d be glad you were willing to spruce it up
Wow, incredible, the floor and the lady!
Great job and very honest 👌🏾
Nice results! 😎🥰🤩
This looks wonderful!
We did this our bathroom
With the exact same tiles when we bought our house. 100% worth it
Do you mind sharing where you found the tile? 😍
@@Chloe.zyxwvu Home Depot is where I got mine
Where did you find this tile?
@@kathydobbs1133 Home Depot for me.
Very nice! Love the pattern.
We also used peel & stick tiles for the kitchen (for backsplash). Much cheaper, easy install, and lasts a long time.
Great job. Nice tile and looks great.
Budget friendly tip thanks!
I love the white trim with black doors!
how was it so cheap? They were like $5 per tile when I checked Amazon
Walmart sells a pack of 30 for 12$ in California.
Do you have the link or name
So beautiful tiles!
You did a great job! Thank you for sharing
This looks incredible! Great job!!
It looks amazing. Great job
Looks gorgeous!!!
Beautiful before and after
That looks really nice. Great job
Damn that’s so beautiful! Great job!
Stunning ! Great idea
Fabulous!! Bravo to you!
Not too shabby! I’d probably use some bigger rectangle tiles and go with a darker grey colour but it still looks fantastic.
I did the peel and stick tiles in all 3 of my bathrooms a year back. I regret it. While they appeared to be in good shape, I found that most of them had a bubble in the center. Hard to explain, but 60% of them were only being held on by the grout and edges of the tile. I took them up and it was like all of the glue spread out to the edges and the center part had no glue. Very strange. I ended up removing them and the vinyl underneath and used real tile instead. Wasn't that much harder than doing peel and stick.
yes peel and stick is absolutely the worse thing to use really, Unless maybe a very high quality more expensive type(but don't know as I haven't and at that point why use peel and stick). But also when you take them out, which you will soon, you now have a ton of glue to get off aswell.
God's blessings to all Amen 😇🙏😇🙏🙏🙏🙏
Very very good to know. I've always been skeptical of it lasting a long time. You just confirmed that! Ugh... I've got to redo my bathroom floor (& more) and just not sure what route to go.
I wonder if it was due to the moisture in the bathrooms 🤔? Thanks for the tip! I’ll try them in the bedrooms first and see how they hold up.
You did a great job!
Beautifully done
Super, amazing job!
I need the whole list of materials used
Peel and stick tiles, premixed grout, kitchen/bathroom caulk
What about the measuring thing? Plus how long can you wait before grouting?
@@luv-ow9jv bro it's a sticker... you can grout it right after putting your stickers down.
@@spazzypotato8325 wow, sound very hostile for something so small. I would assume but don't want to. You never know.
@@stillmatic03you skipped the tile cutter, or something that looks like it. You also skip measuring tape and much more…
AWESOME JOB 👌
Saved this bc I’ve actually to do a bathroom like now and this is one of my tasks. Only suggestion I’d make if for you to have scrubbed down and refreshed with paint the molding. Just trying to give a constructive suggestion and think you’ve done AWESOME.
Thank you for sharing this and making me feel like I am do it too!
Different color or the same?
I love everything in this bathroom 🎉
Great job
Nice Job 😊
I just finished my bathroom with the same tiles! The only difference is that my herringbone pattern is smaller: I cut each tile into 6 pieces.
Which brand of tiles is this .. thanks
I used Traffic Master peel and stick in Carrara marble from Home Depot. Cost was $27.77 per box.
