      I live in Lynwood and I was coming home from a late shift from Port of Long Beach, and I drove by about 2-3 min after the accident…. Car was up in flames, one CHP patrol, and a few good Samaritans on scene… I noticed a few catalytics on the fwy, more than a car should have….
      Point is nothing good happens when you’re out at 4AM.

      Good questions, likely no concrete answers yet because of the investigation. I read that the police was trying to piece together the movements of the car, like when and where it entered the highway, where was it before that, etc. It is sad that the driver was going that fast though, terrible tragedy for all involved.

    When I was a kid I got my drivers license my friends said let’s see how fast this car goes I immediately stopped and said get out and see how fast you could walk a vehicle is a deadly weapon My dad came from Sicily strict rules we’re not allowed to get a drivers license until we’re 20 I learn how to drive a farm tractor when I was nine but I stuck with dad’s rules responsibility behind the wheel of a deadly weapon a vehicle is a deadly weapon

    Uhm... So the driver was going at high speeds and caused this tragedy. Then the news chose the wrong pictures, Of this girl, doesn't seem like a child. She seemed more like an adult woman soliciting. Yet this uncle says she is a child who should be in bed at 4am. Uhm sir where is your sibling to walk the house and make sure everyone and their property is at peace, sleeping and no trouble could be lurking?? Negligence was rampant and No one is a blameless victim. A senless loss

      This has nothing to do with economics of a family, but has everything to do with the level of limit setting and parental supervision in a home. 15 year olds are MINORS and have no business joy riding in a car with other teens on the freeways of LA Co at 4 am! Minors in most towns have a 10 pm cerfew by law!!

    A teenage girl going out at 4am with another teenager? She most likely did not die a virgin and was experienced with drugs and alcohol. Not a good sign.     As I recall from my cousin and her children in Salinas, it's not legal for kids that age to be driving at night with anyone but family. Is that still the case? Don't know why it would've changed. There's a reason. This is so tragic.

      I got my license way back in 2005 but iirc anyone under 18 couldn't drive from 12am-6am. Even if it was legally allowed was the driver even 16 the age to get a license sounds like he was unlicensed or a 15 year old was driving.

    They were with Marines. Would love to see the toxicology report on all the passengers. This brong back two buried memories from the 90's. Two classmates missed the 1st day of High School because they ran from the police and hit a cement base to a ramp, 2nd was almost lost my little cousin about 5 years later still 90's and still running from the Police. 2 kids died on impact he was critical but a friend pulled him out of the car. The pursuit rules changed immediately after that. Good kids doing hot shyd.

    How do Parents NOT know where and why Their kids are out at 4am...Answer that and These Situation can be avoided.

      I have 2 kids. If they sneak out 4am. They know when they get home they will get the belt. That's how my dad used to teach us. And that's how I teach my kids.

      I got 2 kids too...if they open a Window or Door after 10pm, the Alarm goes off and Police on the way...but They know better not to do such things.

    16 is way too young to have a driver's license...I think they should raise it to at least 19....

    My child's counselor is concerned my child spends too much time inside instead of with friends. News like this are what makes me wonder if she's better off. Where is the middle ground?
