    To me as a Finn it's not the cold that gets me, it's the constant wind that goes straight to the bones, especially at the coast 🥶

    Finland has never been soviet. There’s not a single soviet building in Oulu. Finland became independent before there even was Soviet Union.

      @@LonelyPlanetTraveler Come to Russia, my friend. We will explain you all the bullshit spread around the west. I don't think Finland has any Soviet:)) And I like it, cuz soviet architecture ruined our cities. The aim was to provide the people with cheap free housing which was not bad actually. But the results were not presentable. There were many people who's houses were destroyed during the WW2 by europenian civilized Ubermensch just because we were Untermensch. Well... that's a long story.... Hundreds of thousands of soviet towns and cities were actually wiped out...Hope you will not be in one of the above mentioned category

    You talk about Soviet Union ? 1917 - Finland - got Independence - from Russia ! Actually Soviet Russians were not allowed to travel to Finland - Thanks to Our President ! You need to see some Hollywood made movies - that are filmed in Finland ( before 1991 ) like WHITE NIGHTS is on CZcams - or REDS - where Helsinki is as LENINGRAD !

    • @LonelyPlanetTraveler
      @LonelyPlanetTraveler  Před 6 měsíci +1

      13:14 These buildings are somehow like Soviet buildings. In this country there are lots of buildings are build in Soviet era and by the Russians obviously.

      BTW. Did you know that St. Petersburge has been designed by e.g. following architects: Bartolomeo Rastrellin, Jean-Baptiste Vallin de la Mothen, Charles Cameronin, Antonio Rinaldin, Adrian Zaharovin, Giacomo Quarenghin, Andrei Voronihinin, Carlo Rossin, Auguste de Montferrand. They sound very russian, dont they.
