      For most carnivores, and many other species, prolonged staring is an indication of aggressive intent. This bear, by limiting his/her behaviour to brief glances, may have been trying to convey its peaceful intent. The human would have done well to do the same.

  • @grantp4022
    @grantp4022 Před 3 lety +95

    This guy was underestimating this huge bear. Firstly a bear can
    run up to 40 miles per hour or about 70 kilometers per hour. if the
    bear suddenly charged, firstly the guy would have been startled and
    in "panic mode" and not reacted properly or quickly enough. If that
    engine didn't start after the first kick -- no chance the guy escapes.
    He also would have lost 1 or 2 seconds getting the bike turned around.
    Very very risky. If he had the motor running, and the bike turned around
    he likely would have had lots of time to get away.
