Hey Gavin!!!!❤️❤️❤️I hope you’re having a fantastic day! Regarding the white fluff from separating the pages, I remember seeing a video where they suggested to run a dry piece of cloth or a tea towel with some pressure to get the fluff off. They specifically mentioned not to use toilet paper or paper towels, since little pieces might tear with the fluff and make it worse! Let me know if it works! Good luck🥰

Do you do that after you paint or before?
MyBookishDelights after you paint, fully dried and pages separated, since the fluff happens from microtears from the paper separating!

I’m sure people said but you can try a slightly damp cloth to rub off some of the fluff 😂 I also found it that the more you bend and loosen the pages the less fluffy it’ll get when you separate it (also you can dilute the paint a bit) but sometimes it’s down to the paper material too 😂 anyway this was fun

I totally agree with you, I definitely think Strange Worlds turned out the best. It looks so good! I would have gone with the lime, myself, because I’m a huge green fan. Lucky I have that book so I can test the theory. 😝 But you doing the red looks amazing and was such a great choice.

Not sure how you will feel about this comment, but I watched G's videos too and you gave me more confidence that I could do this. The weight on top made me nervous, like it was going to fall off though. I think the end results are so pretty
This was such a nostalgic video, it was like going back and watching Art Attack, so lovely and relaxing 😌 They turned out amazing! I really wanna give it a go now though! Also, Elsa and Anna look like they’re part of Run DMC with the pocket watch around their necks 😂
Hahaha I had nowhere else to put the pocket watch so I just draped it around them, definitely suits them 😂
I’m going to suggest the same thing I did G: use wooden blocks instead of other books to compress. That way you won’t need to worry about getting paint on them etc. 😊 That’s what I do and you could even try to get them in the same size as the books, so you don’t need to slide it from side to side 🤔
They all look incredible but I think the one with the red turned out the best. It looks so great and really stands out. I just love watching your videos they are so relaxing.
So I did this to my copes of The Poppy War and The Dragon Republic and the fluff is so bad 😭😭😭 especially on the sides. It actually ripped quite a few of the pages and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I came back to rewatch your video to see if I'm missing a step or something.
The red one is my favorite! You did really well, I think I probably would ruin my books if I attempted this 😂
Haha to be fair I was so worried, but didn’t ruin them so you can do it too!
Omg she inspired me to do my books too! What I found out after ruining 3 books lol is that if you put a little bit of water in the paint it helps with the separation of pages much better. Just make sure that when you apply the paint on the book the brush is not too wet. Also I saw in one of her recent videos that if you use a wet sponge it will get rid of the fluff. I’m not sure it worked for her tho

The Mama Mia 2 soundtrack is never a bad shout, loved this! I really wanna try it with the acrylics I've got in the house atm but they're all orange-y colours from a painting my mum did years ago so I'm a liiiiitle limited hahaha

Those all turned out so well! I love the lighter purple on the house with chicken legs. the colours you chose were great! and now I need to check if my library has any of those books available.

Maybe a marker might make it less sticky. I use markers on old books or thriftstore books to fix them up. But they looked pretty 💛
Your videos always make my day! And I’ve found out lately that I love painting my books since I seem to always miss exclusive edition sprayed edge books
I’m the same, I have missed so many in the past and it gives me major FOMO
When my books had that fluffy ness after the painting I just put another coat of paint on and that fixed it!

Some of my books do that too with the white fuzzies and I’ve found that it just depends what kind of paper the book is printed on

Is it acceptable to buy like 5 copies of a book just to be able to paint the edges all the colors you're thinking? Asking for a friend............. 👀👀👀

I was also scared but you can conquer that fear! Just make sure your pages are as compressed as possible and it’ll be fine, you won’t ruin them 😄✨
Will the Waterstones version of Escape From Aurora come with sprayed edges do you know? Frostheart did. And I think The Girl Who Speaks Bear looks awesome and Strange Worlds!
They’re planning on sprayed edges for Frostheart 2 yep! They’re also hoping to put rune symbols on the edges too like Frostheart. Glad I won’t have to DIY those edges myself haha

Go buy a cheap old terrible secondhand book, like a cookbook or something lol, and do a practice run on that. I am planning to practice on a book of mine that got water damaged and I have been meaning to throwaway anyway.
