in 2005 I remember working in a call centre in the UK, hated it after awhile but managed to get a transfer upstairs to the admin team where i didn't have to go on the phone and my boss was so nice she allowed me to put headphones into my PC and listen to what she thought was music (as long as i did my work she didn't care) but in actuality i was listening to old episodes of MST3k on video google (which no longer exists). Today I am covering one of our admin staff on long term sick with an empty office and have got everything up to date so am reminiscing watching my favourite epsiode while covering any work coming in. Long live MST3K and may it continue to keep me smiling at work whenever I can get away with it
I swear, when they switched back & forth between truckers driving/on the radio, it could have been the same guy, that was weird! This show is the best, it's like the old days, hanging out with friends, drinking and agreeing to watch something horrible somebody rented from Blockbuster because nothing else was left.
36:25 Servo: I think I need a handle (C.B. radio name) Call me, The Delta Lady. Mike: Ah, NO! Servo should have gone wiith, 'The California Lady' As in, 'The Band that sung....' The Mysties got that one! You guys are awesome! Best group of fans out there!
Sure, The Wages of Fear and Sorcerer are masterpieces of tension and existential dispair, but neither Clouzot nor Friedkin had the bravura and vision to feature Ben Murphy flashing back to other people's memories.
True, true. The only other time I've seen such 'greatness' was in 'Silent Night, Deadly Night 2: Garbage Day's When memories come from a baby and a man who was not there at all. You do have to give them a bit of credit as they do put in a scene, where Ricky is seen watching the first movie! Genius at Work!
You know this is actually an example of a fantastical futuristic technology becoming reality, newer Hybrid or electric cars are managing well over 70mpg on the highway.
6:12 THIS IS A REFERENCE TO A SCENE IN the film 'its a wonderful life' made in 1946 ... now, I'm 59, I was born LONG AFTER THIS WAS MADE AND GET THE REFERENCE ... I can remember this through FILM why can't younger people remember Banacek?
I'VE GOT IT! THE GREATEST CROSSOVER IN 70'S T.V. Wonder Woman & This Guy, (who can turn invisible). I don't have it written yet but The 'Invisible guy' teams up with WW. He needs to go deep, deep, deep undercover. So he borrows WW'S INVISIBLE JET! Then he makes himself invisible, for the whole episode, as he fights the entire army of a rogue nation! All of it, in the Air. The kicker? The Bad Guysare flying invisible Jets Too!!! Since everyone is invisible, most of the episode would just be footage of clouds, with Voice Overs and Stock footage!!! Making it the CHEAPEST episode of any show, ever!! What do you think Sirs?
5620 I gotta raise a glass for Mike and the, 'He's from Barcelona' line. Cheers for the 'Faulty Towers' reference. But just in case you haven't heard, 'Don't mention the War!' ;)
109:50 You gotta feel bad for Crow but looking back on it, things could have been much, much, worse! At least Crow didn't have to Dress-Up as, 'Measuring Man' THAT is a fate worse than '(Riding with) DEATH' ;)
In fairness to the movie ("movie"), the car not exploding in its cut-rate Dukes of Hazzard foolery isn't as implausible as Mike and the bots evidently think. (Many high explosives are in fact quite stable, right up until they're not supposed to be any more.) In unfairness, they probably wouldn't have caused so much confusion if they didn't have _two_ "explosive in runaway vehicle" plots in the same "movie". And - just what the heck was Denby's plan in the second ep- I mean, half - anyway? I get that he decided to take the opportunity to blow up his nemesis because, well, duh, but before then - was he going to just blow up the car for no reason? Or make it crash with his coma gas dispenser? Was there some kind of insurance fraud at play? Was he betting against his own team? What does this have to do with blowing up a prototype airplane? Did he just _really_ want to rid the world of that dumb hick? (Now that motivation I would understand...)
The episode is on YT! Search for “Gemini Man Ep. 10”. The car was being used to smuggle the explosive material into the country. They put it in the car after the race in Berlin. They were going to wreck the car intentionally so that Denby could retrieve the material when they were fixing/scrapping the car. They only blew it up because Denby realized the feds were on to them.
I haven't seen this one in years. Please tell me 'truck nuts' have not been invented yet! I've been watching all Rifftrax for 6 months and before getting into their library, I had no clue what truck testicles even were but Rifftrax seems to be obsessed with them!! I'm not sure why. They're not any funnier than a Yosemite Sam, or Tazz mud flap but I don't get out much, obviously ;)
42:05 Any fellow Canadians, know what the he'll, 'Racecars in Ontario' is? Besides the literal definition. F1 was big in Quebec, with Gilles Villeneuve in the 70's but he died during a race back then. Not sure of the year though... Anyhow, if someone has any clue why this West coast cowboy, wants to race cars in Ontario. Give me a buzz, good busy! Roger wilco ;)
Ontario is a city in Southern California in the LA area & the Ontario Speedway was just that. Mostly drag cars if I remember. Maybe stock cars. If I remember correctly...that was the Car Thing back then. Dang, 50 years went by fast !😅

I'VE GOT IT!
THE GREATEST CROSSOVER IN 70'S T.V.

I have to imagine there was a scene cut. Either in the "movie" itself or when they cut it for the show. It's happened before.
The episode is on YT! Search for “Gemini Man Ep. 10”. The car was being used to smuggle the explosive material into the country. They put it in the car after the race in Berlin. That 2nd truck driver looked cooler with the cowboy hat.
Should have kept it because that forehead comb over, is a bit stupid
Oh, the 70s. When balding guys thought that a few long strands of hair would fool everyone.
I haven't seen this one in years. Please tell me 'truck nuts' have not been invented yet!

Winged bears you said?
As bad as this movie was... I kinda like it slighty more then most of the other mst3k movie's it's kinda up there with time chasers
