- The Z06 Corvette has always set the performance bar high for sports car. This C6 Z06 is powered by a 7.0L V8 that has been modded with intake, cam, headers and exhaust to produce 600HP to the rear wheels. On the outside you will notice a special wrap, C7 Z06 19/20in wheels and LED lighting. On the inside you will you will be greeted by a custom carbon fiber steering wheel, leather sport seats and upgraded infotainment system. Is the C6 Corvette Z06 modded a BETTER sports car than a 2024 C8 Corvette Z06?

I agree with c8 does not have that classic corvette look like how the c7 c6 c5 and other corvettes the c8 feels more like a Ferrari rip off then a true corvette

I think the C6 is the best looking Corvette to date! However, the interiors are seriously outdated. Even when new. I like how there are options now, I’m seeing guys doing the C7 seat swaps, and now a few companies are actually making the larger Tesla style screens for C6s that look factory. Those 2 things really give these interiors new life!

I have a 2008 C6 Zo6. After all the work done to the motor and tune , it’s makes 649hp and 560 torque at the rear wheels. At 3,100 pounds it’s an amazing car to drive.
Love it, this and the c6 zr1 are my favorite modern Covette... and yes, who doesn't love a good rear end 😏

I had a Z06 come through the Chick-Fil-A drive thru. It was straight piped and the dude even revved it. Everyone else hated it but I didn’t mind 😂

C6Z owner here. I'll be the first to admit, the C8Z is a better car in almost all regards, other than the portly weight. With that said, I still think the C6Z is better looking, more emotional, and more fun to drive in general. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't refuse a C8Z if GM wanted to offer me one at a steep discount, but I still love the C6Z after all of these years!
The C6 is a beast with the big motor, I had a friend in New Mexico who max modded his and kept it naturally aspirated. Cam was insane and the car was undriveable in the rain. Superb episode gentlemen!!!

I smashed my factory CF front splitter on a parking block at Corvettes at Carlisle and I think it could be heard all the way back in NJ where I live. Damn, it was loud. And to replace the splitter cost me $1,300. And CF can't be repaired. Well, it can be repaired by someone who knows what they're doing, but then it has to painted. It's impossible to keep the original CF weave pattern alive. Save the Wave Joe. 🙋♂

Became interested in the C6 Z06 while doing research on the C8. It is hard to ignore the great value the C6 Z06 offers when looking for a track car. The C6 Z06 is a real sweet spot in the current sports car marketplace.

You finally reviewed a C6. This Z06 is nicely modded. The wrap design is fine but has too much letters and words IMO
Love the smile on your face enjoying the twistys when on throttle around the 25:48 mark. Looks like a lot of fun driving that car. 👍
C6 Z06 is still one of the BEST performance cars you can buy.

Aw, a cool thing about the C6 were the original headlights with the individual bulbs underneath the clear cover!! It was very 360-esque back then which was…cool

Having owned a c5z and c6z. I love my C7z the most. Don’t get me wrong. If I could. I would get another c6z. But having tracked all 3. The C7z is the most capable in stock form. Even with a light upgrade in brake-pads/suspension and cooling. The C7z is a tack monster.
the c6 is in my opinion one of the greatest cars to ever be designed and built. C5 was amazing too, but the headlight assembly always giving out is why i would never buy one today unless super cheap. Edit: I really love that wrap! My grandfather had a Chevy s10 xtreme. The front bumper lip cracked several times even with him being extremely careful. It sucks and it gets expensive lol. A cost worth having for a look and the performance it provides

These are off a 2019 C7 Z06 so they're the newer revision and have no issues!

I used to live out on county roads and farm to market roads. It's be nice to be a little more careful. Sometimes kids run out into the street in the back roads too. Great video overall though on points.

You should check out REZVANI some time Joe. They're like 007 James Bond vehicles. Bullet Proof windows, tear gas, bolt locks, 110 volt door handles, smoke screen, etc. About 350K and you have the choice of either a jeep or caddy frame. Oh, run flat tires too

Regarding the 10:42 mark; I have a C6 Z16/Grand Sport. As far as I know, all of the widebody C6 variants (Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1) have the same rear fender vent setup/duct work to cool the rear brakes. I just did a smoke test into these vents; and I clearly saw that the smoke exits the duct work onto the rear brakes. Does anyone know for certain if the Z06 and ZR1 models use those same rear fender vents for the rear diff/transaxle cooling instead of the brakes like mine?

I will say it and say it again. The best of modern and classic Corvette style will go to the C6 even C4 trademarks still here. The c8 is really a brilliantly modern Ferrari 458 but better it’s still a good thing

The C8 Z06 brought the Vette into the modern age of super cars. However my favorite is still the C6 ZR1. I wonder what the new ZR1 will be....

Is it better? Well yes, it has a manual transmission, that’s all I needed to know. Corvette made their biggest mistake by eliminating the manual just as Ferrari did. That’s one thing I respect about Porsche, at least they listen to their customer base.
Porsche only make the base 911 in manual , GT3RS and GT2RS is PDK only so calm down

NGL,if I didn't need the PDR from the C7 Z06 for a specific project that's been percolating in my brain for some time, I'd pick the base C6 Z06 with an automatic.
If given an option to purchase a manual transmission, always take the manual, only a matter time before they are completely extinct

The C6 interior is crap and kills it for me. I have a C7 Z06/Z07 M7. One of about 54 in my spec. Very happy with what I have!

It seems as if Corvette styling peaked at the C6. Not a fan of the Transformer inspired C7 or the kooky looking C8. I want a car, not a caricature of a car.
