Dear Irene in Down syndrome, the AFP level decreases and does not increase. You must consult your gynaecologist.
@@MLTHubwithkamran thank you I am going to try and consult with a specialist as they only advise me if I'm positive or negative to afp without providing me any levels. Also the nipt was all negative. I'm really confused and don't want to lean towards a amniocentesis when they advised me it is only a very low risk.. but thank you again I appreciate your feedback I will be going for my 20wk scan I'm a few days. 🙏

@@MLTHubwithkamran sir almost 1 month pahlay b ultrasound krwaya tha lakin us m sb kuch sahe tha lakin gallbladde r m polyp tha dr ne kha tha k ap 1 month bd dobara whole abdomen ka ultrasound krny ko kha tha lakin jb kal karwaya to us m gallbladder polyp ka size same tha but liver likha hua hai few well defined echogenic areas are identified in right lobe of liver without internal vascularity one of them in segment VII measures 2.4×1.8cm another segment VIII along diaphragm measurs 1.0×0.9mm findings are likely suggestive of hemangioma however sonographic follwup/ct tri phasic protocol correlation likha hai and impression m likha hua hai few well difined echogenic areas are identified in right lobe of liver without vascularity suggestive of benign hemangioma however requires songraphic follow up/ct tri phasix protocol correlation by dr sundus aziz please sir batye koy ghabranay wali baat to nahi hai

Maternal AFP levels in pregnancy start to rise from about 14th week of gestation up until about 32 weeks gestation. Between week 15 and 20 weeks, levels usually range between 10 ng/ml to 150 ng/ml. Your result is in IU/mL so compare your results with the reference range in your report.

During pregnancy if AFP level high but in sonography reports are all normal then baby have any issues or not?
False-positive results may be because the mother is carrying twins, inaccurate dates, a low birth weight infant, a large placenta or a sample that was contaminated. Abnormal results are also associated with the fact that the baby may be a girl.
